00:00 A video featuring Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has gone viral on social media showcasing
00:24 a tense moment during his Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra in Assam.
00:28 The footage captures Rahul Gandhi agitately addressing his team over what he perceived
00:33 as mismanagement during the Yatra.
00:35 The incident unfolded as the crowd greeted Gandhi with chants of "Jai Shri Ram" and "Modi
00:40 Modi".
00:41 Congress alleged that their workers and leaders were subjected to attacks by BJP workers resulting
00:45 in damaged vehicles and mistreatment of media persons accompanying the area.
00:50 In some additional visuals shared by the news agency ANI, Rahul Gandhi can be seen exiting
00:55 her bus and approaching the crowd.
00:57 However, his security personnel and party workers swiftly ushered him back into his
01:01 vehicle as an unruly crowd, individuals carrying BJP flags, approached the Yatra.
01:06 Rahul Gandhi claimed that around 20-25 BJP workers carrying sticks positioned themselves
01:11 in front of the Yatra bus.
01:13 When he stepped out, they dispersed.
01:15 He asserted that the BJP workers perceived Congress as being scared of them, a notion
01:20 he vehemently rejected.
01:22 Gandhi also stated that tearing posters and placards won't intimidate him, emphasising
01:26 that they are not afraid of PM Narendra Modi or Assam CM.
01:31 Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also claimed that his vehicle was attacked at Jumur
01:34 Buri Had by BJP workers, who also tore off the Bharat Jodho Naya Yatra stickers from
01:39 the windshield.
01:40 Despite the alleged attacks, he maintained composure and continued the Yatra.
01:45 Also, the Congress President Malik Arjun Kharge has criticised Assam Chief Minister Himanta
01:49 Biswa Sarwa, referring to him as a "chela" of Prime Minister Modi.
01:54 Kharge accused Sarwa of intimidating Dalits, minorities and the backward class, asserting
01:59 that the actions are aimed at influencing future elections.
02:03 For the unaware, the Bharat Jodho Naya Yatra is a significant initiative by the Congress
02:06 Party, transversing 15 states, in a bid to win the 2024 elections.
02:12 Rahul Gandhi cited a previous Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir without encountering incidents
02:16 of stone pelting.
02:17 And so, the Congress Party believe that the specific challenges faced in Assam is contributed
02:22 to Sarwa's close association with PM Modi and BJP leaders, which is an attempt to create
02:27 fear among the communities for political gains.
02:30 "Now, a few kilometres from here, 20-25 BJP leaders came to our bus with their flags.
02:56 I ran out of the bus.
