04:22you're having a good time you're
04:24enjoying see we see that's show good
04:26actors and we are having a great old
04:28time but here's the thing Andrew you've
04:31helped Paul you've given him advice on
04:33posing for pictures on red carpets you
04:36have I
04:37know I think it only works for men I
04:40can't remember what the advice is can
04:41you not no can you I I use it every
04:45single time demonstrate that in a moment
04:47yes I I can describe it in the first
04:50time I met Andrew was we did a uh
04:54charity comedy sketch sketch yeah and it
04:57was before normal people came out and I
04:59was petrified of people taking photos on
05:01a red carpet and I was like I don't know
05:02what I'm supposed to do with my hands
05:04where do I put my feet oh yeah yeah yeah
05:06and Andrew was like you walk up to the
05:08mark you walk past the mark you rock
05:10back onto your left foot and you kind of
05:12just lean back oh yeah God I wish I
05:15followed my ownice one hand one hand
05:17yeah will you do this sort of creepy
05:19little hand in the in the yeah creepy
05:21let's see how how Paul is doing as a
05:24pupil here's Andrew giving the classic
05:28uh
05:30so one hand in in mint let's see how
05:33Paul's doing very
05:36good beautiful now now that that's a
05:39more of a casual look now let's go with
05:41black tie let's see how they're doing in
05:42Black Tie here's here's Andrew oh very
05:44good very Andrew's only managed to
05:46squeeze four fingers
05:48in no more let's see I think you'll be
05:51very pleased with Paul in this one full
05:55fish well done and we've got one more
05:59loads of these defitely look at oh look
06:02at that look at that now you may be
06:04annoyed with Paul here cuz he's gone a
06:06bit Rogue what's that about that's a
06:10mistake I I stay from the
06:13game look how big my
06:16handook and H and kingsy this is
06:18exciting H you're here tonight talking
06:20about playing the great Bob Marley check
06:23this so look at the transformation here
06:25wow it's phenomenal is it wow
06:30and what amazes me so you I mean this is
06:32such kind of an odd so you played
06:34Malcolm X Barack Obama are you
06:36astonished to be playing another real
06:38icon it's so Random I was there was no
06:41plan I did not set out to to play like
06:45icons you know but the the process of
06:48auditioning for Bob was mad you know
06:51like it was uh he's a musical icon so
06:53he's different to all of them and I just
06:55yeah did you have to sing on the
06:57audition they tried to make me sing and
06:59I I was doing Marvel at the time and I
07:02was like 95
07:04kilos I can't sing right and I was like
07:08and I'm 6'2 and Bob's 5'7 I was like who
07:11is asking me to audition for
07:13this so yeah I I I sort of I taped and I
07:18was like it's Bob you know I have to
07:20throw my hat in the ring well listen
07:21congratulations we'll talk more about
07:22that film and the holdovers a little
07:24later but we'll start tonight with
07:25Andrew Scott and Paul mescal's
07:27extraordinary new film all of us
07:29strangers it opens in cinemas on the
07:3126th of January and we've got a clip
07:34here this is your characters Adam and
07:35Harry meeting again after a drunken
07:50encounter hello
07:57hi I'm really sorry sorry about the
07:59other eye oh that's all
08:03right don't worry about
08:10it see
08:13you actually do like whiskey you
08:16want have
08:28drink
08:41I really really hope that people uh get
08:43to the cinemas to see this cuz it's such
08:46a gorgeous gorgeous it really is
08:48beautiful and anyone I know who's seen
08:50it has you just find it like instantly
08:53emotional it just Taps into something in
08:55everyone uh what can you tell us about
08:57it who do you both play it's hard to
08:59describe isn't it but it's about a a
09:01sort of lonely
09:05sad lonely sad kind of guy uh who is
09:08trying to write about his parents and he
09:10conjures up his parents who have died in
09:12a car accident 30 years before and he
09:14conjures up his parents um in the way in
09:16the form that he remembers them most
09:18acutely which is when they're the same
09:20age as he is now they died when he's
09:22when he was 11 so he he conjures them up
09:24and uh my parents are actually played by
09:27uh Clare Foy and Jamie Bell who are five
09:30or six years younger than me so it was a
09:31kind of strange thing and at the same
09:34time he meets a
09:37sexy a sexy neighbor Miss Miss c
09:43p a plays that character and um uh so
09:47there the kind of jeel story story lines
09:49yeah yeah and and obviously you play
09:51that character and the whole story is
09:52told through you Paul What attracted you
09:54to the film uh this man like it's very
09:58like I've watched Andrew for years and
10:02um I'm a massive fan of Andrew hag's
10:04work so they could have asked me to do
10:07anything other would have said yes and
10:08it help that the script was fantastic
10:10but to get to be like when you see this
10:12film what this gentleman does is nothing
10:15short of extraordinary so for nothing
10:18else go to the cinema to watch what he
10:20does cuz it's insane it really
10:24is but you're also good you're great
10:27player Jamie a sexy neighbor
10:31that's and this movie it is about
10:33families and I think everyone will get a
10:35lot out of it but I've heard you saying
10:37Andrew that you feel like a gay audience
10:39will get just that bit extra from the
10:41story yeah I think it is I think it's
10:43just that idea a lot of um gay people
10:45just there's a there's kind of coming
10:47out uh stories within it and I think
10:49it's just about um just how to love and
10:52love with courage and what we'd like to
10:54be able to say to our parents and what
10:55we'd imagine um we'd like our parents to
10:57say to us in that in that in that
10:59situation and how how kind of nuanced
11:01that situation is and so uh it's been
11:03embraced by so it's just come out in
11:05America I've just spent the past couple
11:06of weeks in America and U Americans are
11:08brilliant because they're so
11:09enthusiastic and so vocal about um about
11:12telling you how enthusiastic people have
11:14been coming up and crying on the streets
11:15and um that sounds Borderland
11:18annoying absolutely crazy but uh uh no
11:22it's really nice to to get it all out so
11:24I really hope people because it's a very
11:26strange film to talk about because it
11:27sounds nuts but to and it is nuts it is
11:30nuts but then life is nuts and and I
11:32think to see the film is to love the
11:33film I really do so um yeah we're very
11:36proud of it and and and we had to do an
11:38awful lot of um kind of intimate
11:41intimate you did stuff in this but it's
11:45it's really it's very tasteful
11:49yes well it's it's also you know it will
11:51sell tickets and
11:55uh but it's I think it's always it's
11:58interesting because you you're on set
11:59and your Actors and The Crew everyone's
12:01there and you you know the job is done d
12:03d but then people are sitting in rows
12:06watching this like your families are
12:08watching this have your families seen it
12:09yet the Irish Premiere trying to
12:12allocate tickets to aunties and uncles
12:14is that's I'm just thinking the same
12:16thing it's It's Tricky business but they
12:19must have all seen your Bump they've
12:20seen it many many many times many
12:23different
12:24context many different scales of screen
12:27but uh there's there's there's a little
12:29bit more going on with this I would say
12:31um and more that I don't want to be
12:34there with my parents watches no okay so
12:38don't make me don't make me don't make
12:39me gram a reaction
12:43video yeah exactly and Andrew uh Paul
12:47obviously you're both Irish but Paul was
12:49it your decision not to be Irish in this
12:51film it uh it was a conversation that I
12:53had with Andrew
12:55um director Andrew Andrew hag um uh
12:59I decide what accent
13:01Falls Andrew spoke me he was like I
13:03really think that I'd like to be the
13:05only out person the Gladiator I've made
13:08him be German German
13:11yeah that away and did you just Pi
13:13bleeds because it was one you could do
13:15or bit of both okay and I also just like
13:18that sound and um it's a it's kind of
13:22intuitive it's like when you it's like
13:23when you try on clothes that you like
13:26sometimes it's hard to articulate why
13:28fits like this makes yeah sense and yeah
13:32cuz KY you were just in the Marvel
13:33Universe in secret Invasion and you
13:35played the big baddy and he had an
13:37accent that's you that's him yeah they
13:41tried they tried to have me in that
13:42thing the whole show how long did you
13:44they have me they tried to and I said
13:46I'm wearing it once I'm wearing it once
13:48and I want to be in the show do you know
13:50I mean that was like I don't 4 and a
13:53half hours 4 and a half hours every
13:55scene they wanted me in that thing and I
13:56was like what you do for four and a half
13:57hours not very much like try and get a
14:01snooze like listen to a podcast I I wore
14:04that once yeah yeah yeah I mean In
14:05fairness it looks very
14:07good and uh and that uh character speaks
14:10with her uh Welsh yeah yeah
14:15yeah I can see it now you can see
14:18it why Welsh I think I was just
14:23bored four hours yeah I'll show
14:27them and all of us strangers it opens
14:29next Friday H good luck with it it's so
14:32so gorgeous I I hope people flock to see
14:35it meanwhile dine Joy Randolph brings us
14:39the latest from the great Alexander
14:41Payne this is the holdovers it opens in
14:44cinemas from
14:46today this again I mean such a tender
14:49lovely film the films are so good
14:50tonight uh so tell us who you play and
14:53what the situation is so I play Mary
14:55lamb uh and she works at this uh
14:59boarding school of very affluent Rich
15:03Kids uh and basically it's caught
15:06holdovers it's like basically winter
15:08break uh and so one of the students uh
15:12played by Dominic cessa his parents
15:15decide nope we're not going to pick you
15:17up uh and you're going to just stay at
15:21school um and then so because of it uh
15:24my job is the I'm the head chef so I
15:26have to they have to eat so I have to
15:28stay and then Paul Giamatti plays a
15:32professor named Paul hunam who's kind of
15:34like a gor phobic and like just you know
15:37gorob ghob means like scared to leave
15:40out okay um and basically he's like that
15:44Professor you know that just takes the
15:45job too seriously and everyone's annoyed
15:48with him and um he smells like has a
15:52condition where he like smell it just
15:54you feel bad for him he's like Shrek
15:57basically
15:59yeah actually um and so we're all we all
16:02have to be here for the Christmas break
16:07and we form an unconventional little
16:10family yeah and a lot of people might
16:11recognize Paul J because he was in
16:13Alexander Payne's uh sideways that as
16:16well and Alexander Payne apparently he
16:18really went to fight for you he wanted
16:21you in this film that's what I was told
16:23yeah that he had saw uh Dolomite I think
16:27uh was the one Eddie Murphy yeah and he
16:31felt as though I guess from that
16:33performance that I I could fit and make
16:36sense for that part wow so glad he did
16:39cuz you are really I tell you what let's
16:41watch a clip uh this is you as Mary
16:44talking about the the loss in your life
16:46with Mr Hanan laid by Paul GTI I was
16:49engaged to Curtis's father but he died
16:52before I gave birth
16:55Harold he worked in the shipyard and one
16:59day they was carrying this big uh cargo
17:01pallet and the cable snapped hit him
17:04right across the
17:07head they were good men both of them and
17:12neither of them made it to
17:1325 my baby wasn't even
17:1720 I'm so
17:19sorry I took this job when Curtis was
17:23small because I wanted to ensure that he
17:25was going to have a good education you
17:27know he flourished here yes
17:28no he was a great kid I had him one
17:30semester very insightful mhm he hated
17:34you he said you were real
17:38[ __ ] well uh like I
17:40said sharp kid
17:44insightful oh that's not that's not your
17:47accent no no not at
17:51all and you you you were the one who
17:54wanted it to be practical like when you
17:55do the cooking you are doing the cooking
17:58yeah well cuz when I read the script it
18:00was so again which I'm sure you guys
18:02felt for yours so delicate and intimate
18:06that I felt like it was a magnifying
18:08glass on every single gesture even like
18:12everything meant something um and so I
18:14was like no no no if she's cooking she
18:17has to cook all the smoking I now have
18:20to learn how to smoke the dialect it had
18:22to cuz I was I felt like if people
18:24watched it they' be like she's not
18:25cooking yeah yeah yeah but the smoking
18:27must be even harder than the cooking
18:30yeah cuz you don't right well you know
18:32they say what is it um animals and kids
18:36well you know don't have an animal or
18:37kid on stage cuz they'll upstage you
18:39yeah smoking too couldn't agree with no
18:41B smoking on stage or screen is a crime
18:44it's a whole thing and then knowing it's
18:47like a choreography to know when to
18:49light it when to drag it then you got to
18:51blow it in a certain way so the smoke
18:53doesn't come like wasting in your face
18:56and I didn't realize that herbal
18:57cigarettes burn in a way they burn so
18:59much it's awful did you guys know this I
19:02did not know this yeah it's too fast
19:05it's big plumes of and you're just like
19:08what's going on and so what I did was
19:10cuz I knew it was going to be a big
19:11thing so I just said to the prop guy
19:14said listen I'm a slide in some real
19:17ones in this pth don't tell anybody
19:21they'll smell it straight away they did
19:23but but I felt like you know if you went
19:25to Direction was like so I think I
19:27really want to smoke yeah I was like no
19:29we're just going to we're going to make
19:30it happen because it's for real because
19:32we should say people shouldn't smoke
19:34that's true thr it out
19:36there but but Andrew talking about that
19:39thing you know the choreography in 1917
19:42with those big long single takes Mr
19:45Scott you were to light a cigarette we
19:47had in the middle of 1917 we had to do
19:48these 8 minute long um C this one scene
19:52there's a [ __ ]
19:54cigarette so basically it was in one
19:56take so if you messed up in in minute 7
19:59of an 8 minute scene you had to go right
20:01back to the beginning did you sleep the
20:02night before Oh my God I was so nervous
20:04I was so nervous and also it wasn't like
20:06an intimate little scene this one there
20:08were literally explosions going back you
20:11know a mile in the distance and then I
20:13was
20:16like was like make make use it use it at
20:20War then then eventually
20:22just and then they have to the B the
20:25literal explosions are going off 2 miles
20:26and then they have to reset them which
20:28two hours just because I can't Li
20:30cigarette
20:33absolute and presumably Bob Marley
20:35smokes a lot in your movie but not
20:37cigarettes
20:41not got the good
20:44stuff and I said to the props
20:51guy he like to smoke a little bit a
20:54little bit did you have to
20:56learn no no
21:00I mean I'm not the police I don't
21:02know I didn't I did I you know I had I
21:05had to I had to stay
21:07focused a couple times in Jamaica you
21:09know steam chalice going around to
21:13elevate dine I've got to mention one of
21:15my favorite shows uh a lot of people I
21:17know here love only murders in the
21:18building oh yeah H you're so good at it
21:21and and there you are with Steve Martin
21:24and Martin Short and Selena Gomez but uh
21:26this is a crazy story so you play a
21:29detective in but in real life you've had
21:32a a runin with criminality tell us tell
21:35us Theory I love how British people say
21:37it crimin what I'm running criminality
21:41with criminality
21:43criminals so you're so I I if I if I say
21:47you were in a dim suum restaurant you
21:50know where we're going okay take it away
21:52D and joy Randolph um so I was vegan at
21:55that time and I said say this because I
21:58feel like that was the bad karma I was
22:03[Applause]
22:05vegan
22:07veganuary I was vegan and my best friend
22:11was like let's go get di some and I was
22:12like that's all pork and shrimp and
22:14chicken I can't eat this she's like it's
22:16amazing we have to go I was like okay so
22:19we go um we're having an amazing dimsum
22:23brunch and uh my back is it's crazy when
22:28you have near-death experience the
22:30details you remember everything my back
22:33was to the door and I hear like all this
22:37like fuffle and I see like people
22:40rushing in so my brain's like is this a
22:44flash
22:46mob this is like so show business so
22:49show business probably a flash mob well
22:52cuz like why is everyone rushing in but
22:54I was like that's like it's not on Trend
22:57anymore they haven't done in a long time
23:00and I turned back around cuz I was like
23:02is this a flash mop I turned back around
23:04my best friend's gone and I'm like
23:07that's weird and so literally some so
23:11then people start screaming so then my
23:13brain is like something's going on so
23:17I'm seeing people like trying to flee
23:18out of the exit there's a kitchen with
23:21like a barnyard doors Swinging Doors so
23:23that was the closest thing to me and so
23:25I go into um the kitchen
23:28and it so it's diome they also sell
23:30sushi so in my brain I'm like they got
23:34knives good
23:35ones and so and so I come in and there's
23:39like two waitresses on this side and
23:41there's like a guy on that side and like
23:43I go to one side and I collect the
23:46knives I don't know why multiples
23:49multiples and I woled
23:54it and I'm doing like these yoga breaths
23:56of Fire and I'm like this is it I don't
24:00know what I'm preparing for but this is
24:01it and so then I'm hearing like screams
24:04and this lady's like not my baby and I
24:06was like oh my
24:07God and then this guy comes in and I'm
24:11like is he a threat or are we cool and
24:14he Lees over to me and he's like don't
24:16worry I'm in the Marines and I was like
24:18oh we're good but basically what it was
24:20it was it was a smash and grab so there
24:23was I was I didn't know you guys have
24:25westfields we have westfields in
24:26California and I got very excited when I
24:28came out the car today and I said is
24:30that like my Westfield Mall Westfield so
24:33it was at a Westfield and so basically
24:36there was a jewelry store like just
24:37outside of the mall there was a smash
24:39and grab but apparently that Jeweler had
24:42a private detective so they can carry
24:45arms so they had a little surprise for
24:47them and so it like escalated way too
24:50crazy and so they were running through
24:52the mall with the Bounty yeah and guns
24:56and they chose to run through because
24:58like you know the malls where the
24:59restaurants are connected they were
25:01running through the mall to just Escape
25:04but all that happened and you just don't
25:06know you're just hearing crazy things so
25:08I was like this is it we need Divine in
25:10an emergency that's that is impressive
25:14yeah if you see her in westfi tomorrow
25:18run H listen good luck at the BS Divine
25:23and dare I say the Oscar too uh you know
25:26what's going to happen
25:28the holdovers it's playing in cus now
25:30meanwhile Kingsley benadir brings a very
25:33different drama Bob Marley One Love and
25:36in keeping with the title it opens on
25:38Valentine's Day 14th of February yeah
25:41you are the late great Bob Marley so
25:42here's a taste of the man in
25:48[Music]
25:51action we
25:55Di and I hope this Di going
25:59last no bullet could stop us now we need
26:02to beg no we won't bow neither can be B
26:05no
26:06soul we all defend the right that the
26:09children must unite life is worth much
26:12more than
26:13[Music]
26:19gold
26:25the're we're Jing right stra
26:36so good and we saw a bit of James Norton
26:39there and as Lynch and Anthony Welsh and
26:42and in that performance so is that all
26:44Bob Marley's Voice or you in there too
26:46that's Bob yeah the plan was always that
26:49it was going to be Bob's voice for sure
26:52but I amum I guess I just wanted to uh I
26:56wanted to understand how to sing and
26:58play guitar because that's what he does
26:59and and in terms of the story what
27:01period of Bob Marley's life or is it his
27:03whole life it's not it's not no it's
27:05it's a really specific period it's 1976
27:07and there's um there's a civil war going
27:10on in Jamaica and Bob's you know he's
27:12decided to put on a a free concert to
27:14kind of ease the pressure in Jamaica and
27:19uh there's an assassination attempt on
27:21his life and the band and they all
27:23nearly die he goes on with the concert
27:25and then he flees to London and he the
27:27film's really about the creation of
27:28Exodus
27:29and how soon after the shooting that the
27:33creation of that album was I had no idea
27:35it was like they were they were nearly
27:37killed he did the show he flew to London
27:41and they were Touring that album in 10
27:44weeks so yeah so it really for me I
27:47didn't know any of this coming in so as
27:50we were kind of discovering the script
27:52and the story and I'm meeting the family
27:53I I got to meet I had access to everyone
27:56you know I was reading all the books and
27:57I was like I don't need these books I
27:58can just call people who were there like
28:01all of Bob's friends his band members
28:03but did that not put you I mean
28:04obviously playing someone like this
28:05there's a real responsibility but
28:07because his family were there was that
28:09extra pressure or
28:11helpful looking back I'm like it was
28:14fear I just didn't know how scared I was
28:16but you know when you're scared you go
28:18when I'm scared I I just go well I just
28:20worked you know so I was just kind of
28:22working um but it was a weird it was
28:24because they they supported the decision
28:26but I guess the lead up to that first
28:29day of
28:31shooting I I mean half the family behind
28:35the Mona and Ziggy's behind the
28:37dop and Neville Garrick Bob's close
28:41friend who was there at the time is
28:43rolling the spliff and having his
28:45breakfast behind the dop yeah and so it
28:47was pretty like you know so but I think
28:51after lunch it kind of dropped in and
28:53but also but filming in Jamaica there
28:55must have been people in the the exas
28:57and stuff who had been at the concerts
28:59and oh yeah no no they were everywhere I
29:01mean people like Neville Neville Garrick
29:04who was our historical advisor was in
29:07the room with Bob in baty when he was
29:09composing the album writing down the
29:11lyrics to the songs and nille was there
29:12every day on set so if there was ever
29:14any questions it's that's who you asked
29:16you know and like every Sunday never one
29:18I we just would jump on the phone and we
29:20just walk and talk for a couple of hours
29:22and it was all about trying to cuz Bob's
29:24such an icon you know he's a hero to so
29:27people the conversations were really
29:29about trying to find out who he was as a
29:32as a man as a father and like what his
29:34struggles were you know that was the
29:36what I discovered or what I guess became
29:38really interesting was that Bob really
29:41struggled through that time you know he
29:43was going for a lot and um and yeah yeah
29:47but it's the movie is about the creation
29:48of the album and kind of what Bob was
29:50going for and in terms of you know you
29:51learned some singing and you worked on
29:53the guitar the life of an actor I love
29:55it so you started your
29:58preparations uh for Bob Marley while you
30:01were on the set of a very different film
30:03while you were on the set of Barbie
30:06right there you there you are the chy no
30:10did you know what it was I ordered a
30:13guitar and and was just learning on
30:15YouTube and like transcribing Bob
30:17interviews and was in the middle of
30:18doing this so I set up a little Bob
30:19station just behind you know the bit
30:21where um Ryan is by those doors and he's
30:24go Sublime yeah just behind there
30:27[Applause]
30:29also what I love about this things so
30:31you are getting ready to go beat Bob
30:33Marley shoy knows that he's going to be
30:35the time Lord I mean how weird that you
30:37were both going on do these the day
30:39before they announced Doctor Who I could
30:40tell something was going on with him and
30:42I was like what's going on he's like I
30:44got some big big news I was like tell me
30:47tell me tell me what is it he's like I
30:48can't I can't say anything I can't say
30:49anything I begged them for ages and I
30:50went no no no just don't don't worry I I
30:52respect that and then the next day it
30:53came out it was like World amazing and
30:56talking of popular characters I can tell
30:57you The Talented Mr Ripley which coming
31:00back with you Andrew Scott as a series
31:03or a remake of the movie eight parts on
31:04Netflix yeah oh and when oh look at you
31:08and when my that
31:09Happ you recognize that I know that face
31:12his
31:13hand like like modeling face like like
31:17I've got a hand in my
31:20pocket yeah so that's in in spring in in
31:22the next soon oh wow great and Gladiator
31:252 Paul you've been filming that for I
31:26think and a half
31:29years have you nearly finished it I
31:31finished yesterday
31:34no fin
31:36yday really I survived this no seriously
31:39you're done finished yeah yeah done yeah
31:42complete and that's the sequel obviously
31:44to Gladiators and when when will that be
31:46somebody's going to assassinate me right
31:48now if I say anything further no no no
31:49nothing but no you can tell us when you
31:51might see it in oh Thanksgiving is uh
31:55Thanksgiving this year what yeah 20 24
31:57thanks is it connected to the the the
31:59original one can't say can't
32:01say yeah no it is it is it's in the it's
32:04in that world there are
32:06toas it's in Rome and is it right that a
32:10theater job got you that parting Daddy
32:12yeah I was doing um street car Named
32:15Desire at the time or or was that was
32:18the yeah yeah there he is um yeah I was
32:21doing that that play um at the time and
32:25that's when sir Ridley Scott called and
32:27was like do you want to do this and I
32:28was like is the pope Catholic yeah yeah
32:32you were in Street c Nam desire wer I
32:34was
32:36Stella am who was your Stanley um this
32:40was in school okay so oh actually he's
32:44he's a known actor now Trey buers if
32:46you've seen Empire yes he's the older
32:48brother oh okay yeah wow y oh someone
32:52fell oh no
32:54no they fell off their seat huge fan
32:58fir oh my God stop
33:01it no that's a fun that's a fun it's
33:04great place it's meaty it's constant I
33:07like nearly killed an audience member
33:08when we doing no we were doing it in the
33:11round there's this moment like Stanley's
33:13like one of those like he's like a
33:15volcano so I was like had this prop
33:17where like this metal plate and I really
33:21angry or something so I fire it off the
33:22ground and we we did in the Ala and it's
33:25tiny space marching around giving doing
33:29big acting I had this plate and I welli
33:33it off the stage and whatever way it
33:35bounced it like if you're this lady in
33:38the audience it the the the plate went
33:41bang off this pillar I remember stopping
33:44for a second I was like that would the
33:46suing that would happen no it fully
33:49would have cracked her straight in the
33:50face cuz uh kingy you've done a lot of
33:52theater yeah not for a long time but
33:54when I first started out yeah but now
33:56you have had what sounds like every
33:58actor's nightmare were you in the soo
34:01theater yeah was doing a play called
34:03God's Property was aenay Ken one of his
34:05first plays and we're in the middle of
34:07this scene that's like such a like
34:11lowkey moment in the play you know like
34:13we're just it's a really it's a really
34:16like it's a really simple moment nothing
34:19much is going
34:20on and it goes
34:23silent and I'm looking at Ria and Ashley
34:28and I don't
34:29know I don't know what I'm supposed to
34:32say I don't know and then like 30
34:35seconds passed and no one's saying
34:37anything they're only a little bit
34:39younger than me and then I think 2
34:41minutes must have passed and so I got up
34:46it's making me feel panicky now think we
34:48all have
34:50PTSD so I get up I don't even know if
34:52it's me at this point but I don't I
34:54don't know how to help so I go to the
34:57back of the stage and there's a sink
35:00it's always the best place to go I
35:02pretend to start washing up absolutely
35:05and I'm looking up going God please what
35:09you the feeling is you're sinking but
35:12you're calm yeah but you feel like
35:14you're sinking and I think I heard
35:16afterwards it was 3 and a half minutes
35:18past and are you [ __ ] press
35:22nobody I forgot it was pressnet and you
35:24can hear the pens and the papers
35:26rustling so I go right this is silly now
35:29so I run off stage and I open the
35:33script and I'm trying like I'm going to
35:35find where I
35:36am and I'm trying to I'm and I'm just
35:39seeing black and white and then I go and
35:44then I run straight back on I skip 20
35:47Pages oh you know and real is mitovich
35:51afterwards said like you know we should
35:53we should have helped you and I we were
35:57you yeah but I was it was it was weird
35:59because I I genuinely felt so calm but
36:02like yeah it was weird wow cuz Andrew
36:05you just did that thing of playing a
36:06oneperson version of Vana in the West
36:09End yeah uh it's in which amazing I saw
36:13it it was so good and you play eight
36:15people what is it better or worse if you
36:18dry it's good because if you mess up
36:20usually when you mess up on stage with
36:22another actor you Tred to signal to and
36:25a half minutes and nobody say and then
36:27somebody so usually steps in but it's
36:28actually quite good because you me if
36:30you mess up when you're on your own you
36:31just you just nobody I don't mind you're
36:35not annoyed and check off's dead and
36:37check's dead but it reminds me I I when
36:41when we were doing Hamlet I think I've
36:42told you this story I shot Juliet
36:45Stevenson in the face by accident
36:48obviously but we were doing hamut and I
36:50had to I had to threaten her with a gun
36:53so the scene is is is ham is threat
36:55threatening his mother with a gun and
36:57Polonius the kind of villainous
36:59character is behind a curtain and then I
37:00hear hear the um uh him behind the
37:03curtain and then I shoot him but the gun
37:05just went
37:06off and Peter white who was playing
37:09ponus was waiting he thought he loads of
37:10time he was like and he he he sort of
37:13just died and the audience was
37:16like the shock yeah he died of
37:19Bri and it was horrific and I just went
37:22across the St I was like I've L because
37:24I just it just the gun just went I hate
37:25guns anyway but they just went off and I
37:27was like and afterwards at the interval
37:29I went down to Jame Juliet Stevenson who
37:30is and it just shows what a badass she
37:32is and like locked on her door like to
37:35apologize for shooting her in the face
37:37and uh I was like I'm so sorry I don't
37:39know how that happened I don't just it's
37:40the gun must been faulty she was like I
37:43loved
37:44it didn't you add something
37:50add yes the is
37:53scary gorgeous if you miss by the way uh
37:56Andrew in Van you can watch it on NT
37:59live from the end of the month and
38:01worldwide in feary worldwide worldwide

45:06involving anyone on our couch no okay we
45:09can all relax
45:12everyone all right jny off you go with
45:14your story um so my husband and I had
45:16been invited to a really Posh wedding
45:18and so we'd been on the champagne since
45:21about midday so by the time the Dance
45:23Floor opened we were three sheets to the
45:26wind good on you yeah and um anyway on
45:28the dance floor um I've got had the time
45:31of my life from Dirty Dancing came on
45:34and yeah and I motioned my husband who
45:36was the opposite side of the Dance Floor
45:38that we should do the lift and he was
45:40like yeah okay so I kicked off my shoes
45:43I tucked my dress into my knickers and I
45:45ran full Pelt at my
45:47husband we crashed into each other and
45:50we went down like a ton of bricks and I
45:53then find myself straddling my husband
45:55with bruis knees and my dress right up
45:57around my waist and I look at him and
46:00I'm and I say what was that and he
46:02looked at me and went sorry I've never
46:04seen Dirty

47:07have worked Chapo gold
47:10so so anyway in those days we used to do

47:16draw your own conclusions anyway we got
47:19there and the man assumed a position and
47:22I've got a what did they do now I have

47:31assumes the position we're there yes so
47:33I'm feeling around and I can feel
47:35something really hard and I'm thinking I
47:38thought it was a stone actually anyway I
47:41got it out and I went and ran it under
47:43the tap and it happened to be his
47:45wedding ring anyway I the his wife was
47:49standing there and she said do you know
47:50I've been looking for that for two
47:53days he'd obviously swow it accidentally
47:56somehow I don't know but it was really
