00:00 It's back to normal daily life for this pediatrician in Annecy Hospital.
00:04 Pierre Mornon has just returned from a humanitarian mission aboard the Dix-Mude,
00:09 a French helicopter carrier docked at the Al-Arish port in Egypt.
00:13 "My patients included children, adults, amputees, burn victims,
00:20 explosion victims, many with complicated broken bone injuries, concussions and so on."
00:28 Some 80 medical personnel are aboard the carrier tending to the wounded,
00:32 and the French help is a very welcome one for these civilians,
00:36 who are facing overcrowded hospitals in Gaza.
00:38 "The French are treating us like family. They're giving us all the treatments we need."
00:45 "Every day, each patient has a story to tell. I've seen plenty of photos of what the victims
00:53 have been through. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone."
00:58 Since the end of November, almost 1,600 consultations and 250 surgeries have been
01:04 performed on the Dix-Mude. The carrier will remain docked near the Gaza Strip until January 27.
