Unison's Mary Lyttle says trade unions are the ‘only body left to defend the people and workers’

00:10 as some of the political classes have abandoned the people.

00:14 Let me make it clear the trade union movement will never abandon the people in a time of crisis.

00:20 Our demands are clear. Pay our public sector workers what we are owed.

00:29 Stop using our members as leverage in your political games. Stop the privatisation agenda

00:35 and outscourging your agenda across our public services. This goes against the wishes of the

00:41 workers and the people and without democratic oversight and consent or consent. The Secretary

00:50 of State has no mandate here. His party, the Tory party, has zero politic support here. Therefore,

00:56 he has no mandate to reform our public services. Comrades, I know such as the times that we are

01:05 living seems hopeless. However, never forget as long as we have the numbers we will have the power.

01:14 We will be stronger together and when we speak with one voice.

01:24 Finally, a message to all the political class here and around the world. The message is clear.
