00:00 Hi, my name is Julie Samson and I was the Lady Captain of Fentonshire Golf Club in the
00:11 50th anniversary year. During my captaincy year I joined up with the male captain Dave
00:15 Pearson and we decided to raise money for OneSpec Pallet of Care. Together with the
00:20 members we raised £5,100 which we donated to spend on how they feel fit. We picked OneSpec
00:26 Pallet of Care due to the fact that both myself and Dave's mothers had both been patients
00:31 on this ward and we had two founder members who were also patients of this ward so it
00:36 was a very personal charity for us to choose. I'm delighted with the money that we've raised
00:40 and that we've managed to get the Jolly Cholly. It's fantastic, it looks brilliant, it's got
00:45 all these interactive things on that I've just been shown which I think will benefit
00:49 patients massively going forward. So I'm Leanne, I'm the ward manager of the Pallet of Care
00:54 unit in OneSpec Hospital. So I've been working quite closely with the Bright charity trying
01:01 to enhance the patient experience on the unit and received an email from Karen to say that
01:08 Bedlington Golf Club had raised some money for the unit. They were really interested
01:13 to see how it would help the patient's experience improve on the ward. The Trust have a staff
01:19 Facebook group and a few months ago a ward in Cramlington Hospital had been promoting
01:27 their Jolly Trolley and I thought that was something that would really enhance the patient
01:32 experience. It also does games as well as just looking like a sweet shop so the patients
01:41 are really engaged in it. I'm Helen Dickinson and I'm a nutritional assistant on Pallet
01:47 of Care OneSpec. Before I just had a plain trolley and we used to dress it up but this
01:52 has made such a difference to the patients that absolutely love it. So obviously we've
01:56 got Easter coming up, Mother's Day, we've got a baby shower next on Saturday coming
02:04 but every shift I'm on I do something with the patients so there's always something going
02:09 on. It's just simply to cheer the patients up. They seem a lot happier when I bring the
02:15 trolley on. Sometimes I just leave it in the bay with the reminiscence on and they just
02:19 sit and watch it and it just cheers them up.
