00:00 The Government of Canada is warning their residents who are planning to travel to the Philippines.

00:05 Based on the travel advisory they issued,

00:08 they are avoiding Canadian citizens who have visited certain parts of the Philippines,

00:12 including Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi,

00:16 as well as Western and Central Mindanao.

00:19 They say it's because of the groups of extremists,

00:21 who are being attacked, kidnapped, and raped by rebels and security forces.

00:32 Non-essential travel is being avoided in Eastern Mindanao.

00:37 Our Department of Foreign Affairs has yet to announce the details.
