00:00 After being canceled for the past 3 years due to the pandemic,
00:04 the annual "Traslacion" or Procession of the whole of Nazareno is now back in 2024.
00:10 But this is not only happening in Quiapo, but also in other parts of the country.
00:14 Just like the past years, before the pandemic,
00:23 millions of devotees are coming to Atakilahok for the first "Traslacion" this year, 2024.
00:29 Viva Pongesus Nazareno!
00:33 One of the devotees of Black Nazarene is Alvin Lorca, 36 years old.
00:40 I am a 3-year-old seminarian at the Franciscan Missionaries of the Good Shepherds.
00:48 I started being a devotee of Pongesus Nazareno in 2011.
00:54 The "Traslacion" of Pongesus Nazareno takes 16 hours or more.
01:04 More than 4 million devotees are coming to the "Traslacion".
01:11 All of them have personal reasons for being a devotee.
01:15 In 2010, I lost my job.
01:19 I was a guest of God for almost 6 years.
01:22 But I lost my job again.
01:26 My only solution was to end my life.
01:31 I don't know how I was able to remove the thread that was tied around me.
01:36 And the first thing I read in the Bible,
01:40 "You will be ashamed in this world if you put your life in danger."
01:46 I know that Pongesus Nazareno saved me.
01:51 And as time went by, in 2020,
01:57 I thought of ending my life.
02:02 But did you know that not only in the city of Manila,
02:07 there is a "Traslacion" taking place?
02:09 Viva! Viva!
02:10 Last year, the traditional procession was first returned to the Church Of Christ of Latter-day Saints.
02:15 There is also a "Traslacion" in the city of Davao,
02:19 and in the city of Katarman, Northern San Juan.
02:22 Traditions that give us faith and culture are still important to us Filipinos.
02:35 That's it.
02:36 Thank you.
