00:00 We gotta be watchful here for power
00:01 outages in the Northeast and yet
00:03 check it out in the Northeast.
00:05 The window for drying out after the
00:06 last round of torrential rain is
00:08 slowly closing and some of the
00:10 rivers still haven't receded yet.
00:11 We've got more rain in the forecast
00:13 for our Friday along with more strong
00:15 winds so it's another.
00:16 It's kind of a repeat of the last
00:18 storm that came through,
00:19 especially as far as the wind.
00:21 The rain probably won't be as
00:22 heavy with this next event,
00:24 but the but the wind is going to be intense.
00:26 Now look at the triple extremes that
00:28 we're going to have for threats here.
00:30 Across the eastern half of the country
00:32 tomorrow and tomorrow night we've
00:33 been talking about the severe weather
00:35 tonight in East Texas and Arkansas.
00:37 Moving east through tomorrow,
00:38 we've got Arctic air plunging in
00:40 behind this developing blizzard and
00:41 blizzard conditions are quite likely,
00:43 especially West of Chicago into
00:44 Iowa as we head through time.
00:46 But we're going to watch out
00:47 for this area right in here.
00:49 This is going to be a spot where we
00:51 could see renewed flooding concerns
00:53 as we head through the day tomorrow,
00:55 and especially tomorrow night.
00:56 Because here's another look at
00:57 that storm snapshot for tomorrow.
00:59 During the day,
01:00 you're not going to see much rain in New York City,
01:02 Boston, much of the Northeast.
01:04 The rain will arrive later into Friday night.
01:07 And you'll see what to expect
01:09 in a place like Boston.
01:10 This storm is going to bring
01:12 you 60 to 80 mile an hour gusts.
01:14 It really moves in Friday night just
01:16 before the midnight hour tomorrow night
01:17 and last into Saturday morning.
01:19 The worst of your conditions in Boston
01:21 are going to be in the wee hours of
01:23 Saturday morning and you could see a
01:25 couple of inches of rain to go along
01:27 with the 80 mile an hour gusts.
01:29 That'll be very common for coastal areas
01:31 of the Northeast with this storm.
01:32 Current radar shows we still have some
01:34 snow coming off the Great Lakes here
01:36 in the lake effect snow bands.
01:38 Western and upstate New York.
01:39 We have seen some accumulation there today.
01:41 Here comes the next storm here.
01:43 Future radar into daybreak on Friday morning.
01:45 Notice we start the day dry and kind of
01:47 quiet across most of the northeastern cities.
01:50 Fast forward now to about the evening rush.
01:52 Your Friday night drive home from
01:54 work 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon.
01:56 Still not much going on in New York.
01:58 The breezes are freshening.
01:59 Breezy conditions on the coast,
02:00 but the rain is still inland.
02:02 Then the rain overspreads the region
02:04 Friday night into Saturday morning
02:05 with some snow into the interior
02:07 Northeast and I'll tell you what,
02:09 there'll be plenty of that to go
02:10 around in northern New England and
02:12 coming off the eastern Great Lakes.
02:14 Notice what's happening here
02:15 on Saturday afternoon.
02:16 You see that these bands of snow
02:18 developing off the Great Lakes.
02:19 That's going to be a big problem for us
02:21 with a lake effect snow event this weekend.
02:24 Here's your Friday weather again
02:25 happening in New York City northward,
02:27 but the rain will be moving in
02:29 eventually and that flooding risk is
02:30 going to be with us into Friday night.
