00:06:31 Following orders.
00:06:32 I don't recall ordering the deaths of American soldiers.
00:06:36 Turning their bodies into whatever the hell I just saw.
00:06:40 It was an accident.
00:06:42 A hazard we all knew going in.
00:06:43 You know, Max?
00:06:54 Stories have come back about your camp.
00:06:55 Shameful stories.
00:07:01 Rumors, I assume.
00:07:03 It's a war, Judd.
00:07:06 In a war, the enemy isn't human as far as I'm concerned.
00:07:10 Animals.
00:07:12 They're brave for me and my soldiers.
00:07:15 All of them.
00:07:23 This is going to kill us.
00:07:25 The press gets hold of this, the public, they might
00:07:28 forgive slaughtering Vietnamese.
00:07:31 But this is too much.
00:07:35 I better make some calls.
00:07:36 Sir, I can fix it.

00:13:36 So I told her.
00:13:37 I told her, if her sister doesn't move out, I move it out.
00:13:40 And she says, fine.
00:13:41 And I'm like, fine.
00:13:42 Who do you think pays for this place, huh?
00:13:44 I mean, I move out, you ain't got nothing.
00:13:46 Hey, you hear what I'm saying back there?
00:13:49 Yeah.
00:13:50 So, uh, what should I do, Jack?
00:13:53 Huh?
00:13:53 You know, I'm-- I'm going nuts over this thing.
00:13:56 Sounds like a real mess to me, my man.
00:13:59 Yeah, yeah, now-- now, here's my idea, OK?
00:14:02 You put her to work on one of those minefields
00:14:04 you're clearing, you know what I mean?
00:14:06 You tell her it's her job to go up and down the field
00:14:09 till she goes boom.
00:14:11 Then you got yourself one less mine you got to clear.
00:14:13 What do you think?
00:14:14 Well, your life will never be that simple, Wicks.
00:14:18 Besides, I don't think the armor will sign off on that one.
00:14:21 Nah.
00:14:22 Nah, I don't think so.
00:14:23 [HELICOPTER WHIRRING]
00:14:28 You heading back to the States, huh?
00:14:30 Yep.
00:14:31 I think we're done here for now.
00:14:33 Perfect timing.
00:14:35 Somebody bombed that dam on the Antioch River yesterday.
00:14:37 And the papers are saying it was an American hit.
00:14:40 Oh, I'm telling you, man, things are getting real hairy
00:14:44 between China and the US.
00:14:45 I mean, things could get real ugly over here real quick.
00:14:50 Well, hopefully it won't come to that.
00:14:52 This land is sort of special to me, you know, and people too.
00:14:57 I was born over here.
00:14:58 No shit.
00:14:59 Yeah, my parents were stationed here during the war.
00:15:01 Well, man, we'll miss you even more now, man.
00:15:05 We'll meet you, man.

00:15:21 Hey, Scotty, get points on deck.
00:15:39 Roger that.
00:15:40 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:15:44 What do we got?
00:15:56 Pretty heavy area, but I think we're in pretty good shape.
00:15:59 Good.
00:16:00 Any news of Site B?
00:16:02 Finished last night.
00:16:03 No surprises.
00:16:04 We still have about three days left here.
00:16:07 Three days?
00:16:08 Scotty, we're done here today.
00:16:10 Jack, most of the mines we're digging up
00:16:13 belong to the rebels around here.
00:16:15 The DK, they're pissed.
00:16:17 They're scaring the shit out of the volunteers,
00:16:19 putting dead animals on their doorsteps.
00:16:22 Look, I started out with 12.
00:16:24 Now I only have three.
00:16:26 Things move slower.
00:16:28 I'm not going to be pushed around by the DK.
00:16:30 We got a schedule to maintain.
00:16:32 What are you digging up out there anyway?
00:16:34 The regulars.
00:16:36 PMN2s mostly.
00:16:38 OK.
00:16:39 Check out what we dug up yesterday.
00:16:42 There's about eight of them I found.
00:16:44 Pretty unique.
00:16:46 Have you ever seen one of these?
00:16:47 PMD?
00:16:51 Mm-hmm.
00:16:52 I've never actually held one of these.
00:16:55 Whoa.
00:16:56 Oh, it's cool, man.
00:16:58 I pulled the fuses.
00:17:00 Look, they work off a remote, not pressure.
00:17:04 And mean, too.
00:17:07 Liquid core douses the target, triggers a spark.
00:17:10 [EXPLOSION]
00:17:12 Fried as toast, baby.
00:17:14 Expensive shit.
00:17:16 CIA used them back in Nam for security, mostly.
00:17:20 You think they used to have something out there?
00:17:27 Base?
00:17:28 Hm.
00:17:29 Maybe.
00:17:31 But if they did, I bet you the sweet ass
00:17:33 you're going to find a trace of it.
00:17:36 These guys cover their tracks better than anyone.
00:17:40 Sir.
00:17:42 Sir, we have an emergency.
00:17:44 Watch yourself.
00:17:57 Jesus.
00:17:58 The ignition clip must be stuck.
00:18:02 It should have blown when you stepped on it.
00:18:04 Miss your belt.
00:18:06 Sir?
00:18:07 Your tools.
00:18:08 Give me your tools.
00:18:09 Jack, that thing could go at any second.
00:18:12 I guess I better hurry, then.
00:18:14 You guys move back.
00:18:15 Go.
00:18:16 Speak English?
00:18:23 Good.
00:18:24 Things are looking up already.
00:18:27 All right.
00:18:29 Just do me a favor and don't move, all right?
00:18:34 You like soccer?
00:18:37 Not anymore.
00:18:39 Don't worry about that.
00:18:40 You'll be playing very soon.
00:18:42 OK.
00:18:44 All right.
00:18:46 What's your name?
00:18:47 True.
00:18:49 Hi, True.
00:18:51 I'm Jack.
00:18:52 Nice to meet you.
00:18:55 All I want you to do now is--
00:18:58 is stand still.
00:19:00 You understand?
00:19:02 Jack.
00:19:04 Jack, come in.
00:19:06 Can you read me, Jack?
00:19:10 Kind of busy right now.
00:19:12 Unit B, it's about a DK headed this way.
00:19:15 Oh, shit.
00:19:17 How far?
00:19:18 About a mile.
00:19:19 Moving in fast.
00:19:20 OK.
00:19:24 I want you to pack everything up.
00:19:26 Get everybody out of here.
00:19:27 Copy that.
00:19:28 Let's go, fellas.
00:19:29 Pack up your stuff.
00:19:31 [music playing]
00:19:33 You know, I like soccer.
00:19:47 Yeah?
00:19:49 When I was younger, I used to play a little bit.
00:19:52 Cool.

00:24:49 [music playing]
00:24:54 Dennis, I'm bringing some remains back with me.
00:24:57 I need you to run some DNA tests and find
00:25:00 out if he's missing in action.
00:25:02 Cool, man.
00:25:03 Hey, I'll see you when you get back.
00:25:04 OK.

00:25:25 He's coming out of ICU right now.
00:25:27 See, everything went well, but he's
00:25:29 going to have to stay here a couple days and recoup.
00:25:31 Don't these doctors watch the news?
00:25:33 We could be at war in a few days.
00:25:35 Our Secretary of Defense is going
00:25:36 to be stuck in a hospital bed.
00:25:38 [music playing]
00:25:40 Dr. Joya, please watch the line.

00:25:53 It was under his shirt.
00:25:57 You'll wear this outside, all right?
00:26:00 Always.
00:26:01 You got it?
00:26:02 [music playing]
00:26:04 You do not want to be mistaken for the enemy by that man.
00:26:09 Trust me.
00:26:10 [music playing]
00:26:12 As a result of the current crisis with China,
00:26:16 Defense Secretary John Van Ford is listed
00:26:19 in stable condition tonight after an assassination
00:26:22 attempt by anti-war protesters.
00:26:24 The shooting comes just three days
00:26:26 before an emergency summit meeting
00:26:28 to be held in private between Van Horn and Chinese Defense
00:26:32 Minister Liem Sho-Pang.
00:26:34 Pang today issued another statement
00:26:36 demanding the release of the six Chinese Techtel employees
00:26:39 accused of spying and orchestrating the theft
00:26:42 of American nuclear secrets.
00:26:44 National Security Advisor Max Camden,
00:26:47 who supplied ample evidence supporting the Tectel arrest,
00:26:50 continued to shock White House officials this week
00:26:53 with new reports of an alleged nuclear arms deal
00:26:56 between China and Vietnam.
00:26:58 We'll keep you updated as these crucial events develop.
00:27:03 Hey, Jack, you home?
00:27:05 Hey, man, what have you been feeding your skeleton?
00:27:09 What do you mean?
00:27:10 Look at all those bone marrows.
00:27:11 It's like shredded wheat.
00:27:13 I ran a PCR test.
00:27:14 Woo.
00:27:15 Weird stuff.
00:27:16 Where'd you find him again?
00:27:17 He's buried over there.
00:27:18 We got him the way we found him.
00:27:20 Lieutenant Johnny Hall.
00:27:25 Yeah, Miss Inaction, you were right.
00:27:28 I wouldn't be taking these.
00:27:29 What caused all this?
00:27:31 This frame shift mutation?
00:27:34 Any ideas?
00:27:35 Well, you know, there's a couple possibilities.
00:27:37 Like what?
00:27:38 Well, he could have been exposed to something
00:27:40 dropped from a bomber, a germ,
00:27:42 or he could have been digging somewhere he shouldn't have,
00:27:44 covered a nasty spill.
00:27:46 You heard the NAMM stories, right?
00:27:47 Man, those grunts, they were practically juggling Agent Orange over there.
00:27:50 They didn't know any better.
00:27:51 Come on, make it dressed.
00:27:52 There's Jody and a bunch of us.
00:27:53 We're going out for margaritas.
00:27:54 You up for that?
00:27:55 What?
00:27:56 I know you are.
00:27:57 I know you are.
00:27:58 Come on, man.
00:27:59 Now, listen, I'll tell you what.
00:28:00 Jody is hot for your shit.
00:28:01 After a few drinks, you may be able to pound the piece tonight.
00:28:03 I'll tell you what, I'll definitely meet you over there, OK?
00:28:05 Tonight.
00:28:06 And Dennis, thanks for the stuff.
00:28:08 Great work.
00:28:09 That's because I'm flawless, man.
00:28:11 What can I say?
00:28:12 Forget it.
00:28:14 I'll see you later, man.
00:28:15 You got it.

00:29:15 I'm not much of a storyteller, as you're about to find out.
00:29:19 The words you read here aren't going
00:29:21 to be a bunch of visceral excerpts of my days
00:29:23 spent in this fucked up war.
00:29:25 I'll leave that up to the nightly news.
00:29:29 But it is a story I have to tell, or I'll go insane.
00:29:35 It's a story of a madman, a man who probably started off
00:29:38 the model soldier, but then something snapped.
00:29:43 His name is Captain Maxwell Camden.
00:29:47 He oversees activity here at a medical facility
00:29:49 known as Camp Blue.
00:29:50 I was summoned to Camp Blue on July 72
00:29:57 by Lieutenant Ben Wilder.
00:29:58 Welcome to Camp Blue.
00:30:00 There's other officers here, but Camden and Wilder,
00:30:04 they run the show.
00:30:06 At first glance, Blue looks just like any other medical camp.
00:30:09 But as my stay grew longer, I realized
00:30:12 there was much more to this place.
00:30:14 Don't question anything.
00:30:16 Surrounding the camp, underground,
00:30:19 is an enormous basement.
00:30:22 VCPOWs are driven in by trucks and stuck in the basement
00:30:25 with no food or water, at least none I've ever seen.
00:30:31 As a soldier, you're told to go along and get along.
00:30:35 In other words, follow orders and keep your mouth shut.
00:30:40 But I couldn't help but wonder how all those people
00:30:42 fit down there.
00:30:45 And I never saw anyone come out.
00:30:48 The answer to that question was worse than I could have ever imagined.
00:30:51 Each day gets worse.
00:31:08 This morning I saw Camden standing above the basement,
00:31:11 surrounded by smoke and ash from the victims inside.
00:31:16 He'd take long drags, like it was his first few breaths of life.
00:31:24 How's a mind become so evil?
00:31:28 What makes a man's heart turn black?
00:31:33 Sometimes I hear him talk to Wilder about the prisoners,
00:31:36 referring to them as animals or dogs or pigs,
00:31:40 using terms like "dispose" and "exterminate."
00:31:44 Camden's convinced the Asian race is morally impaired.
00:31:47 In his mind, he's saving the world.
00:31:51 You're probably asking, "Why don't I leave?
00:31:55 Why don't I stop them?"
00:31:59 There's no question more dangerous.
00:32:03 One of the nurses here, Sandy Savalas, approached Camden.
00:32:07 In front of everyone, she berated him,
00:32:09 warning him how she'd no longer ignore what he was doing,
00:32:12 how she'd see to it that he suffer the maximum legal penalty.
00:32:17 Sandy begged me to go with her,
00:32:19 but I was terrified of what might happen.
00:32:24 I'll regret it, I'll carry it for the rest of my life.
00:32:30 He shot her.
00:32:33 Right in the head.
00:32:36 Message was clear.
00:32:39 We found ourselves in the worst place on Earth.
00:32:43 There was no escape.
00:32:47 I recognize the placards as something toxic.
00:32:54 Final small piece of evidence.
00:32:57 Something toxic.
00:32:59 Final solution to Camden's war.
00:33:02 Curious to see its effects on the POWs
00:33:04 when a Camden's guys were sent off to expose a test group.
00:33:09 Fortunately for Camden and Wilder,
00:33:12 they weren't around to see the results.
00:33:16 The test backfired,
00:33:21 turning the entire area into a hot zone.
00:33:25 Within 24 hours, all of us at Camp Blue were infected.
00:33:30 It's difficult to write today.
00:33:36 My mind is tired.

00:35:02 Hey, world traveler. Welcome back.
00:35:24 Thank you.
00:35:25 Did you bring me anything?
00:35:27 I brought you love, but I left it on the plane.
00:35:31 Listen, we missed your Pacos.
00:35:35 Dennis and karaoke. It's scary.
00:35:38 Is he in?
00:35:39 No, he went off base.
00:35:41 A meeting.
00:35:43 What's up?
00:35:44 I just need to talk to him about something.
00:35:47 Something private.
00:35:49 Something national security private or something guy talk private?
00:35:53 Guy talk?
00:35:54 Who are you, Ricky Lake?
00:35:56 [laughs]
00:35:57 You got a directory in this computer, right?
00:36:00 Former enlisted men and stuff?
00:36:02 Yeah, just about everyone. It only goes back to 1960.
00:36:06 Could you do me a favor?
00:36:08 I doubt it.
00:36:09 Could you look someone up for me?
00:36:11 A girl?
00:36:13 It would really mean a lot to me.
00:36:20 Jack, you know I'm in trouble. I could get in.
00:36:24 Is that why I would get out of it?
00:36:28 What do you want?
00:36:30 A date. With you.
00:36:32 Done deal.
00:36:34 Okay. What's his name?
00:36:36 Lieutenant Ben Wilder.
00:36:38 Lieutenant Ben Wilder.
00:36:40 Still active.
00:36:44 He left the army in '74. Now Colonel Ben Wilder.
00:36:49 He's a flight instructor at Bishop Air Force Base.
00:36:53 He's practically our neighbor.
00:36:55 Who is he?
00:36:57 Nobody.
00:36:59 I owe you one, thank you.
00:37:01 Sure do.
00:37:02 What time are you picking me up?
00:37:04 About 8.
00:37:06 Yeah, I think I can do 8.
00:37:09 Alright.
00:37:12 [♪♪♪]
00:37:16 [♪♪♪]
00:37:20 [♪♪♪]
00:37:23 [♪♪♪]
00:37:26 [♪♪♪]
00:37:34 [♪♪♪]
00:37:37 [knocking]
00:38:01 Come in.
00:38:04 Colonel Wilder.
00:38:06 I'm Captain Jack Point, military intelligence.
00:38:09 You know, the boys are young,
00:38:11 and they sometimes like to cause a little trouble.
00:38:13 Nothing serious, though.
00:38:15 This is not about one of your men, sir.
00:38:18 You don't say.
00:38:20 Have a seat. Thank you.
00:38:22 What can I do for you?
00:38:24 [clears throat]
00:38:26 Well, I was hoping you could help me with a little dilemma I'm having.
00:38:29 I was recently assigned to an AMAC unit over in Cambodia.
00:38:34 Demo excavation.
00:38:36 You're familiar with it?
00:38:38 I am. And Cambodia as well.
00:38:40 You were stationed there during the war with Central Intelligence.
00:38:44 Tell me, Captain, is this your little dilemma or is it mine?
00:38:49 Well, I just have a few questions about your mission under Max Camden.
00:38:54 What'd you find over there?
00:38:58 Bunch of letters written home by some pot-smoking high school dropout
00:39:03 whining about fighting for his country? What?
00:39:07 Not exactly.
00:39:09 What can you tell me about Camp Blue?
00:39:12 Young man, look,
00:39:20 I really don't have any idea where you're going with this.
00:39:24 But if it helps, yes, I worked for the CIA a long time ago.
00:39:30 I really don't think I know anything about this suspicious discovery of yours
00:39:35 or Camp whatever in hell you called it.
00:39:38 But let me make a recommendation to you.
00:39:41 You better get your eggs all in one basket.
00:39:43 You better know the facts before you come in here interrogating people.
00:39:48 I found a body, a medic, and he was assigned to you, not to camp.
00:39:53 He kept a journal.
00:39:55 Well, now, maybe if you can show me this journal.
00:39:58 CID ran a few tests on the remains,
00:40:01 which yielded unique results, to say the least.
00:40:05 Captain Point,
00:40:09 you are stepping on a very sensitive part of history here,
00:40:13 the ugly part.
00:40:15 Now, you listen very closely to me.
00:40:19 Wise up and drop this thing.
00:40:23 A mystery.
00:40:26 I will drop it when it's solved,
00:40:31 and I think I got what I needed.
00:40:34 Thanks for your time.
00:40:35 You know, Max Camden is a very powerful man.
00:40:39 If you insist on pulling him in on this,
00:40:42 you're gonna find yourself on countless national security shit lists,
00:40:47 the ones that can make life very unpleasant.
00:40:51 Do you understand me, boy?
00:40:54 So it's the same Max Camden, our national security advisor.
00:40:59 I wasn't sure about that part.
00:41:01 Good day, sir.
00:41:03 Sally, get me a secure line.
00:41:16 Sir, we've confirmed that number three and four are originally from Hong Kong.
00:41:20 Now, those last two, they're from Hanoi.
00:41:23 I knew the day would come when we'd regret not ending the Vietnam War to our advantage.
00:41:30 And here it is.
00:41:32 Call for you, Mr. Camden.
00:41:33 No calls, please.
00:41:35 He says it's urgent. Colonel Ben Wilder.
00:41:38 Put him through.
00:41:41 [phone ringing]
00:41:44 Ben, how are you?
00:41:48 Don't move.
00:41:54 When did he leave?
00:41:57 All right, listen.
00:42:05 Don't talk to anyone and don't go anywhere.
00:42:08 I'll come to you.
00:42:11 Stay calm, Ben.
00:42:14 [knocking]
00:42:24 Colonel, ready when you are, sir.
00:42:27 Sir, Mr. Van Horn would like to see you.
00:42:37 Drop what you're doing. Find out who this guy is. Now.
00:42:41 Ah, Max. Could you wait outside, please?
00:42:58 [music]
00:43:01 You okay?
00:43:11 I thought they'd just shot governors and presidents.
00:43:14 You know, while I was in the recovery room, I had time to think about a few things.
00:43:20 Mainly, how does one avoid being shot at in the future?
00:43:23 Congress supports our position.
00:43:26 Yeah, sure. The public obviously doesn't.
00:43:29 Of course, I'm not going to let the president just sit there and watch China sell weapons to Vietnam.
00:43:34 So I'm going to need some persuasive evidence for this summit meeting.
00:43:39 I want everything you've been working on the last few months.
00:43:42 Photos, videos, stills, all your best stuff.
00:43:46 We're going to inform this country of the danger it faces, whether they like it or not.
00:43:53 So, anything relevant happen when my eyes were closed?
00:43:58 Yes.
00:44:03 Yes, what, Max?
00:44:08 An artifact was found. Overseas.
00:44:15 From Camp Blue.
00:44:17 Camp Blue. Yeah.
00:44:22 Still.
00:44:23 Well, that was a long time ago.
00:44:27 An unfortunate product of our struggle over there, Max.
00:44:31 It could cause trouble for us.
00:44:34 Then bury it. That's your job.
00:44:36 Yes, well, um, we don't actually have it yet, but we know where it is.
00:44:43 So...
00:44:45 So how much concern do I have to invest in this, Max?
00:44:49 Very little. I'm taking care of it.
00:44:52 Yeah.
00:44:53 You know, as I recall, you said that 30 years ago.
00:44:56 Put this crap over on the table, yeah?
00:44:59 What's going on?
00:45:08 Jesus!
00:45:18 [Beeping]
00:45:21 Where's the nurse?
00:45:35 What nurse?
00:45:36 The one that just left. The Asian one.
00:45:37 Shit.
00:45:40 [♪♪♪]
00:45:43 Move it! Right there!
00:45:51 I want you down on the ground right now, Nick!
00:45:58 [♪♪♪]
00:46:02 [♪♪♪]
00:46:06 [♪♪♪]
00:46:34 Everybody down!
00:46:35 [♪♪♪]
00:46:40 [♪♪♪]
00:47:07 [Tires screeching]
00:47:09 Let her go.
00:47:17 We got work to do.
00:47:19 We taking these vans to work today, sir.
00:47:23 Everything okay?
00:47:26 [♪♪♪]
00:47:31 [♪♪♪]
00:47:34 Fucking A.
00:47:45 Bishop Tower, this is Cheetah 2-2.
00:47:48 I think I've got a problem.
00:47:50 Yeah, go ahead, Cheetah 2-2.
00:47:51 Turn over on her, sir.
00:47:53 He's broken formation.
00:47:54 I don't know what he's doing.
00:47:56 [♪♪♪]
00:48:00 [Tires screeching]
00:48:01 Something's wrong.
00:48:06 He's been acting weird ever since we got up here.
00:48:08 Colonel Wilder, come in, please.
00:48:10 Colonel Wilder, this is Lieutenant Colonel Kagan.
00:48:19 I'm all for throwing in a few surprises here and there,
00:48:22 but let's not get carried away.
00:48:24 [Tires screeching]
00:48:28 [♪♪♪]
00:48:30 He's taking evasive action.
00:48:32 Stay with him, Lucas.
00:48:33 Don't lose him.
00:48:35 I don't think he's coming down, sir.
00:48:41 Go in your command.
00:48:42 Ben, how about we head back to base, old friend?
00:48:47 [♪♪♪]
00:48:51 [Tires screeching]
00:48:56 [♪♪♪]
00:48:58 [Grunts]
00:49:24 Wilder's down, I repeat.
00:49:25 Wilder is down.
00:49:27 I have Dennis on the phone while everyone's waiting for him,
00:49:38 and for some reason, they sat me right in the middle of all the top brass.
00:49:42 I'm thinking, what else could possibly go wrong?
00:49:45 Then Dennis said I'm running late, stall.
00:49:48 So there I am, sitting next to the general of all people,
00:49:51 and he keeps talking about how much he loves D.I.J.
00:49:53 [♪♪♪]
00:49:55 And then he asked me if I'm wearing any underwear.
00:50:02 I'm like, "General."
00:50:04 Jack.
00:50:09 You know, when I said I wanted to have dinner,
00:50:16 I was hoping that included a little dinner conversation as well.
00:50:21 I'm sorry. I'm being a jerk, huh?
00:50:24 What's going on?
00:50:26 Um, I'm kind of tired, you know, from the plane trip.
00:50:30 Time change.
00:50:32 Does this have anything to do with that name I looked up?
00:50:38 Sort of.
00:50:41 It's kind of complicated, you know?
00:50:47 Listen, I'm... I'm so sorry I'm wrecking dinner.
00:50:50 Breaking news this evening from Bishop Air Force Base.
00:50:54 What?
00:50:55 Where a decorated flight instructor has died as a result of a tragic accident.
00:50:59 Here is Saida Pagan with more on this story.
00:51:03 Air Force officials are calling Colonel Wilder's crash an accident at this hour,
00:51:08 but sources at the base indicate suicide should not be ruled out.
00:51:12 We'll keep you updated on the latest.
00:51:14 Oh, my God, that's the guy.
00:51:16 We've got to get back to the base.
00:51:18 We need to get everything Dennis was working on yesterday.
00:51:31 You have the keys for the lab?
00:51:32 Yeah.
00:51:35 [Explosion]
00:51:37 Call the MPs. Tell them we've got hostile forces on the premises, all right?
00:51:56 Take this. Shoot anything chasing after me, all right?
00:52:03 Hey.
00:52:04 I'll be safe, okay?
00:52:07 All right.
00:52:09 Come on, Jack.
00:52:17 [Siren]
00:52:19 [Beeping]
00:52:36 [Explosion]

00:52:57 Get in the car!
00:53:03 [Gunshot]
00:53:04 Come on!
00:53:06 Come on, we've got to move!
00:53:17 Hold on.
00:53:30 [Siren]
00:53:32 You know, this guy put the whole place on her second date, don't you think?
00:53:43 You're doing good. You're doing good.
00:53:44 [Siren]
00:53:46 [Siren]
00:53:47 Where are we going, Jack?
00:54:07 Let's get to the freedom, all right? So we can lose them.
00:54:09 Okay.
00:54:12 [Gunfire]
00:54:13 We're way back there.

00:56:21 Skyship One, group leader. Has the target been destroyed?
00:56:25 I think he's on the move.
00:56:28 Give me everything you've got. I want you to bleach this place.
00:56:31 Marty, go down there and find me some bodies. Now!
00:56:50 [Siren]
00:56:51 That is... We've got to get out of here. Come on. Let's go.
00:57:11 Coming up at 11, a shootout at a local army base leaves two CID officers dead. Early leads indicate an Army Intelligence Officer may be responsible.

00:58:42 The target's no problem. We just missed him. He got away.
00:59:05 With a journey?
00:59:10 We don't know that for sure. He went back into his apartment. He got something.
00:59:13 A cookbook, maybe.
00:59:17 Of course it was a journal!
00:59:22 You idiot!
00:59:24 Shut him down.
00:59:36 You understand? Credit cards, ATM, cell phone, pager, every footprint, every fingerprint he leaves behind. Track it and attack it, sir. And with the time that it's gonna take...
00:59:46 We'll get round it.
00:59:51 [Siren]

01:02:06 I have some information for your show. Can I talk to a producer or somebody there by any chance?
01:02:10 No, I'll definitely call back in the morning.
01:02:14 Sorry to bother you, but could you give me a name of somebody?
01:02:18 Roger Stark.
01:02:21 Oh, that's fine. Thank you very much.

01:03:22 Good morning, KPOB. Can I help you?
01:03:25 Roger Stark, please.
01:03:28 This is Roger Stark.
01:03:30 Hello?
01:03:33 I have some information for you.
01:03:35 You want me to stay on the line, but I'm going to need a little bit more than that.
01:03:39 Yeah, I know. I just can't, uh...
01:03:42 I get into it over the phone, I know. But why don't you come on down to the studio and leave your secrets with the receptionist, okay?
01:03:47 Now listen to me, goddammit.
01:03:49 I can't come down to the studio right now.
01:03:52 I'm being watched or...
01:03:56 or followed, I think.
01:03:58 By who?
01:04:00 Powerful people.
01:04:02 Well, I'm not making a house call in what you've given me so far, man.
01:04:05 Give me something to wake me up.
01:04:07 I work in the military.
01:04:09 Listen, I'm not playing games with you.
01:04:11 The information I found is going to send a shockwave.
01:04:15 Like a Chinese crisis, like a fucking tsunami.
01:04:18 I might die from making this phone call.
01:04:23 But I'm willing to make it. Forget the story.
01:04:26 So if you'll meet me, you'll get the scoop of the century.
01:04:30 Well, where do you want to meet?
01:04:32 This cafe. On 3rd and Montana. One hour. Alone.
01:04:37 What's your name?
01:04:39 Jack.
01:04:41 Okay, Jack. I'll be there.

01:05:23 (car engine roaring)
01:05:26 (dramatic music)
01:05:29 - Jack?
01:05:55 Roger Stark.
01:05:56 So, where is it?
01:06:01 - Where's what?
01:06:05 - Stuff you found, you know, the information.
01:06:08 - It's all in here.
01:06:09 - Fuck that, look, unless you got something for me,
01:06:13 some real evidence, I'm outta here.
01:06:14 I'm not playing fucking games.
01:06:16 - Okay.
01:06:18 - Great, let's see what you got.
01:06:20 - You got a business card or something like that?
01:06:22 - I don't do business without a business card, you know?
01:06:25 (laughing)
01:06:27 - Like an army guy.
01:06:29 - I never said I was an army guy.
01:06:36 (tires screeching)
01:06:39 - Get him outta here, move!
01:06:43 - Harden, close the asshole's back.
01:06:49 - Kennedy, take care of the bike.
01:06:51 - Yeah, I know.
01:06:52 (car horn honking)
01:06:59 - Hi, Jack.
01:07:11 (guns firing)
01:07:15 (dramatic music)
01:07:17 - Let me guess, the motorcycle wouldn't talk.
01:07:37 - Sorry you didn't have it on.
01:07:42 - I must have dropped it somewhere.
01:07:45 - Our country needs my full attention now, Captain Point.
01:07:53 So why don't we save each other a lot of time,
01:07:57 save yourself a lot of pain,
01:08:00 and tell me where you hid the book.
01:08:04 Every man has his breaking point.
01:08:10 And these men here were all trained by me.
01:08:13 Finding that point is their specialty.
01:08:17 - You wanna see the book?
01:08:19 You'll see the book when it hits the cover
01:08:21 of every newspaper in the world.
01:08:23 - I have one interest, one thing I live for.
01:08:30 That's to keep this country safe.
01:08:36 Eliminating all threats to security.
01:08:39 You're fast becoming public enemy, number one.
01:08:45 My father was a lieutenant colonel in the Korean War.
01:08:56 Totally hard-boiled.
01:08:59 He was captured behind enemy lines by the Chinese.
01:09:07 Tortured for several days.
01:09:09 When they found his body, his flesh,
01:09:13 from the waist down had been stripped away.
01:09:19 Try to imagine that pain.
01:09:21 After my father died, I soon found myself in battle.
01:09:29 Vietnam.
01:09:34 Finding an enemy that crawled underground
01:09:37 and struck like a swarm of bees.
01:09:40 That's when I realized the Vietnamese,
01:09:43 the Koreans, the Chinese, they're insects.
01:09:47 It's a colony.
01:09:48 Relentless in their pursuit of the next place
01:09:51 to plant their nest.
01:09:52 Now my job,
01:09:55 our job as soldiers, is to keep them back.
01:10:03 And swatting them away, swatting them away
01:10:05 with everything we've got.
01:10:07 We're the exterminators.
01:10:15 Now, if this journal is a nuisance,
01:10:19 it could provide a false sympathy for these people.
01:10:24 I can't have that.
01:10:25 Don't make me insist.
01:10:29 Where's the goddamn book?
01:10:33 Go to hell.
01:10:34 Journal or no journal, I'm gonna get my bloodshed.
01:10:42 Starting with yours.
01:10:46 Sorry I had to come to this, Captain.
01:10:52 Break him, make him talk.
01:10:59 (dramatic music)
01:11:02 You know, Jack, you're putting me
01:11:18 in a really tough spot here.
01:11:20 I tell you, this thing, I,
01:11:22 what the hell is this thing anyway?
01:11:23 I don't know, but I'm pretty sure
01:11:24 that it could crush just about every bone in your body.
01:11:27 You got one last shot here.
01:11:29 Where's the book?
01:11:31 I don't know where it is.
01:11:33 Just do it already.
01:11:37 But I want your opinion.
01:11:38 I'll ask for it.
01:11:39 (dramatic music)
01:11:42 (grunting)
01:11:44 (dramatic music)
01:11:48 (grunting)
01:11:50 (dramatic music)
01:11:53 (grunting)
01:11:55 (dramatic music)
01:11:58 (grunting)
01:12:00 (dramatic music)
01:12:03 (dramatic music)
01:12:05 Give me that.
01:12:10 (dramatic music)
01:12:14 Let's go.
01:12:28 (dramatic music)
01:12:31 (grunting)
01:12:33 (dramatic music)
01:12:36 Give me that.
01:12:59 (dramatic music)
01:13:02 (grunting)
01:13:04 Nice to meet you.
01:13:09 (dramatic music)
01:13:12 (grunting)
01:13:18 (dramatic music)
01:13:21 (grunting)
01:13:29 (tires screeching)
01:13:32 (laughing)
01:13:35 (tires screeching)
01:13:38 Over there.
01:13:45 (tires screeching)
01:13:51 Oh shit.
01:13:55 (dramatic music)
01:13:58 (tires screeching)
01:14:15 (dramatic music)
01:14:17 (tires screeching)
01:14:20 (dramatic music)
01:14:23 Get out.
01:14:45 (dramatic music)
01:14:48 (tires screeching)
01:14:51 (dramatic music)
01:14:55 (tires screeching)
01:14:57 (dramatic music)
01:15:00 (grunting)
01:15:15 (dramatic music)
01:15:18 (grunting)
01:15:24 (tires screeching)
01:15:26 (dramatic music)
01:15:29 (tires screeching)
01:15:32 (dramatic music)
01:15:43 (tires screeching)
01:15:48 (dramatic music)
01:15:53 (tires screeching)
01:15:56 Shit.
01:16:21 (dramatic music)
01:16:24 Nice place.
01:16:26 (dramatic music)
01:16:28 Your last 24 hours have been kind of crazy for me,
01:16:31 so I do want to thank you.
01:16:34 - You're bleeding.
01:16:36 Let me take a look.
01:16:37 (dramatic music)
01:16:40 - What is this?
01:16:47 What are you doing?
01:16:50 Now listen, I don't know who you are,
01:16:53 but if you want the journal, we can make a deal.
01:16:56 I still have it, you know.
01:16:57 Please, are you listening to me?
01:17:01 - Not by choice.
01:17:03 Easy now.
01:17:05 - Please, don't do this.
01:17:09 - Don't worry, it relaxes you,
01:17:12 so you can answer all my questions.
01:17:15 - I owe you my life.
01:17:16 Put it away.
01:17:19 - I will answer your questions.
01:17:21 I will.
01:17:22 (dramatic music)
01:17:25 - I'll keep it right here, just in case I change my mind.
01:17:28 So let's start with the questions.
01:17:32 Is the journal safe?
01:17:33 - Yes.
01:17:35 - Has anyone else seen it?
01:17:36 - No one.
01:17:39 - You're gonna take me to it now?
01:17:40 - No, not yet.
01:17:43 I need you to help me with something first.
01:17:48 - I think you've exhausted my charity for one day.
01:17:51 Now you've exhausted my patience.
01:17:53 - I want Camden.
01:17:54 Just get me a loan with him.
01:17:57 Passed all the security and you will get your book.
01:18:00 Can you do that for me?
01:18:02 - That'll be suicide.
01:18:07 Let me think about it.
01:18:09 - Hey lady, are these really necessary?
01:18:14 - Most of the time.
01:18:18 - Where am I gonna go?
01:18:19 (dramatic music)
01:18:27 Thank you.
01:18:35 - So what do you have to Camden for?
01:18:40 - Justice.
01:18:46 - If you read those pages, you'd understand why.
01:18:50 - See that's the nice thing about what I do.
01:18:52 Where, when, how, only questions that I need answered.
01:18:56 I never ask why.
01:18:57 - This woman.
01:19:04 - Look, she's gotta be the spy.
01:19:07 She held a position at JPL from '89 to '91.
01:19:10 That gave her the access to Los Alamos.
01:19:14 It's not these six tech-tell employees.
01:19:16 Do you want my opinion?
01:19:17 We gotta set them free and throw this bitch
01:19:19 in a goddamn cell where she belongs.
01:19:20 - Well that's not going to happen.
01:19:22 Did you ever see a horse break its stride
01:19:31 at the end of a championship race?
01:19:32 I saw it happen once.
01:19:38 The Breeders Cup.
01:19:40 It's tragic.
01:19:44 Lead horse tripped, broke its leg.
01:19:47 And for the jockey, it's not that bad.
01:19:49 He gets a little dirty, that's all but the horse.
01:19:51 You know what happens to the horse?
01:19:55 We're too far into this race, Jay, and we're winning.
01:20:01 I'm not gonna let us lose our stride
01:20:03 by releasing those people.
01:20:04 - Sir, if we don't release those people,
01:20:06 we're gonna have--
01:20:07 - You're either with me or you're not, Jay.
01:20:08 Now which is it?
01:20:08 I'm with you.
01:20:13 (dramatic music)
01:20:15 - Summit meeting's tomorrow.
01:20:17 I want you to arrange security.
01:20:18 - Where's the Bennett building?
01:20:25 - Downtown, why?
01:20:28 - It's where they're holding the private summit.
01:20:30 - Guess I wasn't a Pentagon on the other end
01:20:33 of that fax machine, was it?
01:20:35 - Not quite.
01:20:37 This building could serve us well.
01:20:40 In the art of war, Sun Tzu refers to this
01:20:42 as contentious ground.
01:20:44 It's a location that benefits both sides.
01:20:46 Now for a change, we know exactly where Camden will be.
01:20:50 If we don't strike, it's only a matter of time
01:20:52 before we both lose.
01:20:54 - Well, something tells me Camden is already aware
01:20:56 of Sun Tzu's theory.
01:20:58 - It's gonna take enormous bravery.
01:21:01 - Yeah, well, right now I'm running low
01:21:04 in that department.
01:21:05 (dramatic music)
01:21:11 (footsteps tapping)
01:21:14 - Sleep, it'll come back.
01:21:21 - Looks pretty good.
01:21:30 I envy every military leader that came before me
01:21:34 that doesn't have to endure the nuclear age.
01:21:36 If the time spent building, researching,
01:21:40 and testing these weapons were spent on medical science
01:21:43 and education, just imagine the world we'd live in.
01:21:46 - Oh, take it easy, Max.
01:21:49 I'm just entertaining the staff.
01:21:51 I haven't lost touch with the real world yet.
01:21:54 Come on in.
01:21:56 Would you excuse us, please, ladies?
01:21:59 (indistinct radio chatter)
01:22:09 - Well, there's one good thing about the nuclear age.
01:22:11 A theft at Los Alamos just reinforces the notion
01:22:15 of how foolish the Chinese think we are.
01:22:17 - Let's try and keep our priorities straight, Max.
01:22:23 We're to stand our ground at this meeting,
01:22:26 not kick sand in their faces.
01:22:27 Is that understood?
01:22:29 - Sure.
01:22:30 - How are we doing with the...
01:22:31 - It's done.
01:22:34 - Done, permanently?
01:22:37 (dramatic music)
01:22:40 - Good.
01:22:41 - Put it down.
01:22:54 - Listen, I'm not going in that building without a weapon.
01:22:59 So you better decide right now whether you trust me or not.
01:23:02 See, I'm trusting that you'll get me to Camden,
01:23:06 and not kill me when I give you the journal.
01:23:08 No modesty.
01:23:09 My level of trust outweighs yours.
01:23:11 You don't see me pointing a gun at you, do you?
01:23:14 So why don't you put your gun down?
01:23:17 - I have yet to see proof that you still have the journal.
01:23:22 Perhaps then I can control such an impulse.
01:23:24 - You probably want to take a look at this.
01:23:34 - No.
01:23:36 Over the last few years,
01:23:37 I've been able to educate my government on several topics.
01:23:39 One of them being Max Camden.
01:23:41 I know a great deal about him and his beliefs.
01:23:44 - Why haven't you stopped him?
01:23:45 - Proof.
01:23:47 Sort of explains what all the fuss is about, doesn't it?
01:23:49 You pretty good with these things?
01:23:57 - Whoa.
01:23:58 Careful there.
01:24:00 They don't look like much, but they really satisfy.
01:24:05 - Well, how are we getting in the building anyway?
01:24:08 - I've made arrangements.
01:24:09 Smoke and mirrors.
01:24:12 - Well, we got about an hour.
01:24:18 Any last minute request?
01:24:19 - Don't give up.
01:24:25 Don't fail.
01:24:28 And don't look back.
01:24:32 And don't look back.
01:24:33 - Why are you doing this?
01:24:40 - You don't ask why anymore, remember?
01:24:44 - I don't know if I could do this.
01:24:55 - You may never do it again.
01:24:58 (dramatic music)
01:25:01 (dramatic music)
01:25:04 (dramatic music)
01:25:07 (dramatic music)
01:25:10 (dramatic music)
01:25:13 (dramatic music)
01:25:16 (dramatic music)
01:25:19 (dramatic music)
01:25:22 (dramatic music)
01:25:27 (dramatic music)
01:25:31 (dramatic music)
01:25:36 (dramatic music)
01:25:40 (dramatic music)
01:25:47 (dramatic music)
01:25:50 (helicopter whirring)
01:26:10 (dramatic music)
01:26:13 (dramatic music)
01:26:24 (dramatic music)
01:26:28 (dramatic music)
01:26:38 (speaking in foreign language)
01:26:42 - Mr. Van Horn.
01:26:52 Glad to see you're doing so well.
01:26:55 - Thank you.
01:26:56 - Keeping this meeting on schedule assures me
01:26:58 that this is just as important to you as it is to me.
01:27:01 - Who's this in October?
01:27:04 - No.
01:27:09 Excuse me.
01:27:10 - I have a feeling there's more to this story, isn't there?
01:27:22 I received a file on your activity in Cambodia,
01:27:26 demining the land, searching for something else.
01:27:28 - So what?
01:27:29 Given up?
01:27:31 - No.
01:27:33 Our commitment is still the same,
01:27:35 just our motivation is different.
01:27:37 (laughing)
01:27:40 Now you realize that I kill without mercy.
01:27:42 They have their target, we have ours.
01:27:44 He who hits first wins.
01:27:46 That's the way we play this game.
01:27:47 (dramatic music)
01:27:54 - As different as you and I are,
01:27:56 we have now found ourselves to be in the same situation.
01:28:00 We are both steering a ship full of misbehaviors
01:28:03 from past administrations.
01:28:05 No apologies expected,
01:28:07 but considering the results of our meeting today,
01:28:12 I am willing to drop anchor
01:28:14 and seek a solution to all this.
01:28:17 - That's very prudent, sir.
01:28:19 I like most of what you said,
01:28:21 but you can't expect a person in my position
01:28:24 to overlook the fact that you've been arming
01:28:26 half of Asia with nuclear devices.
01:28:28 - But is it a fact?
01:28:30 - Well, our security departments hold
01:28:32 countless pieces of evidence to confirm this activity.
01:28:35 You know, as well as I do,
01:28:37 that the most powerful weapon
01:28:38 in a confrontation is deception.
01:28:40 I don't want to embarrass you, Mr. Van Horn,
01:28:44 but your evidence is phony.
01:28:46 Your security departments are lying to you.
01:28:50 Max Camden personally declared those employees spies
01:28:54 with nothing more than evidence he created.
01:28:56 Video, photographs that he had altered.
01:28:59 I appeal to you, Mr. Van Horn,
01:29:01 truly consider where your ideas are coming from.
01:29:04 We have no savage luster for battle,
01:29:08 but the threat from us is an illusion.
01:29:12 The result of Mr. Camden's campaign against us.
01:29:15 - I resent that.
01:29:16 - Yes, you would.
01:29:17 In fact, you resent everything about the Chinese,
01:29:19 don't you, Mr. Camden?
01:29:20 (dramatic music)
01:29:24 (dramatic music)
01:29:27 - Check out the engine.
01:29:38 - Hold on a second.
01:29:43 Hey, you gotta sign in.
01:29:46 Hey, hold on, you hear me?
01:29:49 (dramatic music)
01:29:52 (guns firing)
01:29:55 (dramatic music)
01:29:57 (guns firing)
01:30:16 (dramatic music)
01:30:18 - So, I propose a resolution of peace
01:30:30 based on the resignation of Max Camden.
01:30:33 - I don't believe this.
01:30:35 (dramatic music)
01:30:45 - God damn it, this better be good.
01:30:46 - They're inside.
01:30:48 - Well, good for them.
01:30:52 Secure the area.
01:30:53 Nobody moves but us.
01:30:54 If they do shoot him, Marty, you come with me, Jay.
01:30:57 Keep those idiots in there.
01:30:59 - Yes, sir.
01:31:02 (dramatic music)
01:31:04 (dramatic music)
01:31:07 (guns firing)
01:31:20 (dramatic music)
01:31:33 (guns firing)
01:31:35 - You should take your position.
01:31:42 I'll lead him to you.
01:31:43 - Jessica.
01:31:44 - I'll do my best.
01:31:46 (dramatic music)
01:31:49 (dramatic music)
01:31:52 (dramatic music)
01:32:20 (guns firing)
01:32:23 - Gentlemen, there's a heavy fire in the building.
01:32:29 I want you to stay wherever you are.
01:32:31 I'm taking care of it.
01:32:32 - Two.
01:32:33 (dramatic music)
01:32:36 - Hold it right there, lady.
01:32:49 - I'm an agent.
01:32:50 - Put your guns down.
01:32:51 Now.
01:32:53 - Hold on.
01:32:56 Show you my ID.
01:33:01 (dramatic music)
01:33:06 (dramatic music)
01:33:20 (guns firing)
01:33:23 - I want you to put the guns down.
01:33:48 Turn around very slowly.
01:33:50 (guns firing)
01:33:51 Now.
01:33:52 No, I don't think so.
01:34:03 Now turn the cute little ass around.
01:34:05 Do it.
01:34:06 (guns firing)
01:34:11 My turn.
01:34:14 (guns firing)
01:34:20 (dramatic music)
01:34:23 (dramatic music)
01:34:25 (guns firing)
01:34:35 (dramatic music)
01:34:50 (dramatic music)
01:34:52 - Drop it.
01:34:55 (guns firing)
01:35:00 - You're a disgrace, you know that?
01:35:09 What kind of man betrays his country
01:35:13 in its most desperate hour?
01:35:14 - The only betrayal will be letting you live.
01:35:19 - Get over yourself.
01:35:21 You wanna go down in history
01:35:22 as the man who handed over his nation's freedom, huh?
01:35:25 If we don't cripple these savages now,
01:35:27 it's only a matter of time before they strike.
01:35:30 (dramatic music)
01:35:32 (guns firing)
01:35:37 Gonna need a lot of those to keep me and my men down.
01:35:42 - I don't want your men.
01:35:45 Only you.
01:35:48 (dramatic music)
01:35:52 - What's it going to take to make you understand?
01:35:54 - Oh, I understand.
01:35:56 Abuse of power, corruption, genocide, murder.
01:36:01 - It's called collateral damage, Captain.
01:36:04 A common casualty of war.
01:36:06 (dramatic music)
01:36:10 - Take him to a doctor.
01:36:12 (dramatic music)
01:36:14 - I wonder if that's what you got.
01:36:20 (grunting)
01:36:22 - I'm willing to forgive your ignorance this one time.
01:36:27 So just hand over the journal and we'll end it.
01:36:29 Now.
01:36:30 - Clean.
01:36:31 Now.
01:36:35 - A lot more went down in Vietnam
01:36:38 than anything in that stupid book.
01:36:40 No one cared then.
01:36:41 No one's gonna care now.
01:36:44 - There was one person who cared.
01:36:46 A woman back at Camp Blue.
01:36:48 She tried to stop you.
01:36:52 And in here, it says you shot her in cold blood.
01:36:57 - Oh yeah.
01:37:00 I remember her.
01:37:03 An insolent bitch with no regard for order.
01:37:08 - Just like yourself.
01:37:09 What is this bullshit?
01:37:19 - She was my mother.
01:37:22 Journal or no journal.
01:37:27 I'm gonna get my blood shit.
01:37:30 (dramatic music)
01:37:33 (thudding)
01:37:36 (screaming)
01:37:39 - You're a tough little cookie.
01:37:43 When I crack you open, I wonder what my fortune's gonna say.
01:37:46 (screaming)
01:37:48 - It says beware of sharp objects.
01:37:54 - Well, well, well.
01:38:03 Now we've got something.
01:38:04 And all this time, I thought you were out to expose
01:38:08 my reign of terror.
01:38:09 I didn't know it was personal.
01:38:12 - Why'd you kill her?
01:38:14 - I come from four generations of military insight.
01:38:17 I wasn't gonna let some liberal hippie chick
01:38:20 tell me the difference between right and wrong.
01:38:24 Get in my way, pay the price.
01:38:27 A policy that's always worked for me.
01:38:30 Until now.
01:38:30 What are you gonna do?
01:38:34 Shoot me?
01:38:35 Become the killer that you think that I am, huh?
01:38:40 Come on.
01:38:42 Enter into this dark, depressed world of revenge.
01:38:48 I grew up here.
01:38:50 Enjoy your stay.
01:38:52 - I'm just passing through.
01:38:54 - Vengeance burns forever.
01:38:59 No matter how many bullets you put into me.
01:39:01 Looks like your noble quest is over.
01:39:15 Soon as I decide what to destroy first.
01:39:19 This, or you.
01:39:28 Think there's anything in there?
01:39:30 I leaked this location to the press.
01:39:33 Along with the real journal.
01:39:35 - That's nothing but a souvenir from Camp Blue.
01:39:39 - Good.
01:39:41 You can keep it.
01:39:42 The whole world knows about your agenda.
01:39:47 Racist crusade.
01:39:49 You know where to run.
01:39:52 (dramatic music)
01:39:55 (dramatic music)
01:39:58 (dramatic music)
01:40:01 (dramatic music)
01:40:04 (dramatic music)
01:40:07 (dramatic music)
01:40:09 (dramatic music)
01:40:12 (dramatic music)
01:40:15 (dramatic music)
01:40:18 (dramatic music)
01:40:21 (dramatic music)
01:40:23 (dramatic music)
01:40:26 (dramatic music)
01:40:56 - I stand before you today
01:40:57 to announce a formal resolution
01:41:00 between China and the United States
01:41:02 regarding the recent nuclear arms crisis.
01:41:05 The six Tectel employees are being released as we speak.
01:41:10 I also owe an apology to Defense Minister Pang
01:41:14 and this country.
01:41:15 An enormous cloud of hate has been lifted
01:41:18 from me and my department
01:41:20 with the realization of what caused this crisis.
01:41:24 When the transcripts of this journal
01:41:26 hit the papers and the internet,
01:41:28 I urge all Americans to resist outrage and protest
01:41:33 and concentrate instead on how to avoid
01:41:36 this kind of hatred towards our fellow man in the future.
01:41:40 Thank you.
01:41:41 (crowd chattering)
01:41:45 (dramatic music)
01:41:47 (dramatic music)
01:41:50 (dramatic music)
01:41:53 - How could I possibly repay you for everything you've done?
01:41:57 - I don't think in those terms, poison's the spirit.
01:41:59 Besides, now that the crisis is over,
01:42:02 I can relax a bit.
01:42:04 It's more than adequate compensation.
01:42:06 - Does it mean going back to China?
01:42:08 - Probably.
01:42:10 - Well, there's a mine site up along the Canton River.
01:42:13 I've been thinking about heading back, you know,
01:42:17 picking up where I left off.
01:42:18 - I know that area.
01:42:21 Certain parts are quite beautiful, actually.
01:42:24 When you arrive, maybe I can show you around.
01:42:28 - I like that.
01:42:30 Let's get out of here.
01:42:35 (dramatic music)
01:42:37 (dramatic music)
01:42:40 (dramatic music)
01:42:43 (dramatic music)
01:42:54 (upbeat music)
01:43:04 (upbeat music)
01:43:07 (upbeat music)
01:43:20 (dramatic music)
01:43:32 (dramatic music)
01:43:35 - Hartman, you got something.
01:44:02 - A cookbook, maybe.
01:44:03 - Of course it was a journal!
01:44:08 - You idiot!
01:44:10 - Shut him down.
01:44:21 - You understand?
01:44:22 Credit cards, ATM, cell phone, pager,
01:44:27 every footprint, every fingerprint he leaves behind,
01:44:30 track it and attack it.
01:44:31 - Sir, with the time that it's gonna take--
01:44:32 (gun fires)
01:44:35 - We'll get rid of it.
01:44:36 (dramatic music)
01:44:39 (dramatic music)
01:44:49 (dramatic music)
01:44:52 (dramatic music)
01:44:55 (dramatic music)
01:44:57 (dramatic music)
01:45:22 (dramatic music)
01:45:25 - I think Defense Secretary Van Horn
01:45:38 should insist the President use force on China
01:45:40 and cripple them economically.
01:45:41 - I disagree.
01:45:42 - This administration and the American people
01:45:45 face a great deal of embarrassment
01:45:46 if the Chinese launch a sneak attack,
01:45:48 which Max Camden constantly warns us they plan to do.
01:45:51 - I think the American people would rather blush
01:45:53 from a little embarrassment than bleed from the battle
01:45:56 you're so eager to see.
01:45:57 But you bring up Max Camden,
01:46:00 clearly a powerful voice these days at the White House,
01:46:02 one of the few men that has both Van Horn's
01:46:04 and the President's ear.
01:46:05 My question is, why do we trust him?
01:46:08 - Camden's been doing this a long time.
01:46:11 He was instrumental in the recent disturbance in Europe,
01:46:14 the Persian Gulf, obviously Vietnam.
01:46:16 He knows the military side as well as the technical side.
01:46:20 I don't know why we should trust him,
01:46:22 but we certainly don't have a reason not to trust him.
01:46:26 - There you have it.
01:46:26 We'll be back in a moment.
01:46:27 Your comments and opinions from our toll-free line,
01:46:30 1-800-WAR-ROOM.
01:46:31 Give us a call, give us your opinion.
01:46:33 Back after this.
01:46:34 - Tonight on the Discovery Channel's Hollywood Safari,
01:46:38 how will the wolf survive?
01:46:39 A wild animal is hunted by a countenance horseman
01:46:42 with a bandana, but they are soon to find out
01:46:44 that there is nothing more dangerous
01:46:46 than a wild animal course.
01:46:48 (clears throat)
01:46:50 - Yeah, hi.
01:46:51 I have some information for your show.
01:46:53 Can I talk to a producer or somebody there by any chance?
01:46:56 No, I'll definitely call back in the morning.
01:47:01 Sorry to bother you, but could you give me a name
01:47:03 of somebody?
01:47:04 Roger Stark.
01:47:08 No, that's fine.
01:47:10 Thank you very much.
01:47:11 (eerie music)
01:47:15 (eerie music)
01:47:18 (eerie music)
01:47:20 (eerie music)
01:47:25 (eerie music)
01:47:29 (indistinct chatter)
01:47:37 (eerie music)
01:47:39 (phone ringing)
01:47:47 - Give me an old blade.
01:47:49 (eerie music)
01:47:51 (phone ringing)
01:47:59 - Good morning, KPOV, can I help you?
01:48:11 - Roger Stark, please.
01:48:12 - This is Roger Stark.
01:48:15 (eerie music)
01:48:18 - Hello?
01:48:19 - I have some information for you.
01:48:22 - You want me to stay on the line,
01:48:23 but I'm gonna need a little bit more than that.
01:48:26 - Yeah, I know, I just can't--
01:48:28 - I get intimate over the phone, I know.
01:48:30 But why don't you come on down to the studio
01:48:31 and leave your secrets with the receptionist, okay?
01:48:33 Now listen to me, goddammit.
01:48:36 - I can't come down to the studio right now.
01:48:38 I'm being watched or,
01:48:41 or followed, I think.
01:48:44 - By who?
01:48:45 - By awful people.
01:48:46 - Well, I'm not making a house call
01:48:49 in what you give me so far, man.
01:48:51 Give me something to wake me up.
