00:00 [cheers and applause]
00:03 - All right, guys, the rules.
00:04 We told you in the locker room and in the corner.
00:06 You know what I expect. Touch gloves if you want to.
00:07 If not, go back to your corners.
00:10 - Last fight was a short one on May 17th.
00:14 Lasted 2 1/2 minutes for Marcus Valle.
00:18 He'll get a lot more from Goga here tonight.
00:20 10-0 against 9-0. Here we go.
00:23 It's time to fight.
00:25 White and sky-blue trunks for Farid Goga
00:29 from Congo, living in Phoenix, Arizona.
00:31 Marcus Valle in the black and purple.
00:34 Valle with that big, long frame.
00:40 We'll look to utilize his height and reach advantage.
00:45 - Goga trying to establish that distance early.
00:46 He don't want Marcus Valle to get comfortable
00:48 closing the gap, so Goga trying to smartly use that jab
00:52 and be busy with it early on.
00:54 - Yeah, but one thing about this Pro Box ring,
00:56 it is very small.
00:58 Marcus Valle knows how to make it smaller on you.
00:59 - Smaller, exactly.
01:02 - It was really small in our last fight.
01:05 - Oh, they could have fought a combo.
01:06 - You got that right.
01:08 - Third fight of 2023 for Valle.
01:10 First career eight-rounder.
01:12 - Valle with that nice overhand right a few moments ago.
01:16 There's a nice solid jab, too.
01:19 - Goga goes like this. He's going to end up
01:21 using too much energy, and that's what Valle
01:22 kind of has you feeling.
01:23 It makes you feel like the walls are closing in,
01:26 and it makes you burn more energy than you should.
01:28 Goga trying to fight his way to some freedom,
01:31 but if you fight your way to that freedom
01:33 of having some space,
01:35 you're going to end up burning energy quickly,
01:36 which is what Benavidez did to Andre the other day.
01:38 - Exactly, exactly. That's in my mind.
01:41 - You want to deceptively buy your time
01:44 instead of fighting your way for your time,
01:45 because otherwise you'll end up getting buried in fatigue.
01:49 - Valle is not having trouble finding Goga up to this point.
01:52 That is some good jabs, some nice right hands over the top.
01:55 And there's that left hook to the body.
01:57 Both Valle brothers are excellent body punchers,
01:59 and it's a big aspect of their offense.
02:01 - Goga landed some shots as well, guys.
02:03 But again, it's part of the allure of Valle
02:06 is he's a little bit hittable at times,
02:09 but he's the kind of guy who is very offensive-minded
02:13 and knows how to leverage his shots well.
02:15 - And Goga did say Marcus is undefeated for a reason.
02:18 He's sharp. He's always ready.
02:20 So a lot of mutual respect between 10-0 and 9-0
02:23 here in our second fight of the night.
02:25 Marcus Valle.
02:30 - And that's one thing about Valle.
02:31 You know, he is hittable.
02:32 He also doesn't really mind getting hit,
02:33 which I don't really like, but it's fun to watch.
02:36 - Asked if he feels the pressure
02:41 as one of the top prospects in his weight division right now.
02:44 No pressure at all. I love this. This is what I do.
02:47 As long as I am ready, as long as I am prepared,
02:50 there is no pressure.
02:52 - Well, one thing about also, you know,
02:53 you say he's hittable, but one thing about
02:55 even if he ends up getting caught with a shot here and there,
02:58 he doesn't break his form.
02:59 His position never breaks,
03:00 and that has a way of mentally fatiguing you as well
03:03 because his positioning is always dangerous in front of you.
03:06 - And that's what I meant by not really minding getting hit.
03:08 It doesn't seem to affect him all that much.
03:10 He walks through the shots and keeps doing what he's doing.
03:12 It's very workmanlike.
03:14 - Take one to give two or three.
03:16 Makes it exciting.
03:18 [bell ringing]
03:19 [cheers and applause]
03:22 [indistinct chatter]
03:25 [upbeat music]
03:28
03:36 [cheers and applause]
03:39
03:43 - I need you to-- I need you to start digging this tail.
03:46 - Good.
03:48 - Where his back yard?
03:49 They ain't doing us any fucking favors here.
03:51 They ain't doing us no favors.
03:52 - Bet. - Water?
03:54
03:57 - I'll just have to pick later.
03:59 - Let me get a bucket. Where's the bucket?
04:01
04:06 - December 13th, we wrap up what has been a wonderful year
04:10 with a 10-round super lightweight main event.
04:13 Montreal moves to the Sunshine State.
04:16 Batazon Chukambaya and Muhammad Mamun
04:20 will meet in our main event,
04:21 plus Kelvin Davis, Najee Lopez,
04:23 and Dominic Valle's younger brother,
04:26 Marcus Valle's younger brother, Dominic Valle, on the card.
04:30 - And we excuse the graphic, guys.
04:31 Khaled's was our old main event.
04:33 - Yes. - But he fell out with an injury,
04:35 so we had to adjust that.
04:37 - Hot Rod was a lot of fun,
04:39 not only to talk to before his fight here,
04:42 but the show he put on on Pro Box TV.
04:46 - Goga started this round a little different,
04:48 fighting off the front foot, pushing Valle back some,
04:51 see if he can keep that up.
04:53 Which I think is a good idea.
04:57 You don't want to be backing up.
04:58 Like you said, champ, Valle makes the ring very small.
05:01 Goga did land some good shots in the first round.
05:03 See if he can build on that here.
05:05 - Seven finishes and his nine wins.
05:10 For Marcus Valle, six knockouts
05:15 and a 10-0 record for Shogun.
05:18 - Goga doing a good job, not overloading the punches,
05:22 just letting his hands go, touching Valle,
05:24 upstairs, downstairs, building up his combinations.
05:27 - He's done some good work this round, champ.
05:31 But is he doing too much?
05:33 Is he gonna start to slow down?
05:35 'Cause again, Valle has that way of making you feel
05:37 like you need to work so much more than you need to.
05:40 - Well, and it looked that way in the first round.
05:41 It looked like they were fighting at two different speeds.
05:43 - Yeah. You can start to see the fatigue now on Goga.
05:46 As Valle's starting to hit him cleaner.
05:48 And what happens when you get a little bit fatigued,
05:49 you become a little bit more hit-able.
05:51 - Punches get a little wider, a little more open,
05:53 a little easier to counter.
05:55 - First fight outside of Arizona for Goga.
05:59 - I think the most effective punch from Valle's,
06:02 and it's been the jab. That shot right there.
06:04 - And when you talk to Marc Ferre about both of the Valle brothers,
06:09 he says, "To be a great teacher,
06:11 you've gotta have great students,
06:12 and they are the cream of the crop."
06:14 - Oh, big shot from Goga there.
06:16 Right hand over the top. Catches Valle.
06:18 - Mm. Both men landing here in round two.
06:22 Goga coming off a win back in Phoenix in June
06:35 over previously unbeaten Jerome Jones Jr.
06:39 - And that goes a long way,
06:41 knowing that you've been able to beat an undefeated fighter.
06:43 You've taken an O before fighting another undefeated here--
06:46 an undefeated fighter here in his hometown,
06:49 or his home-- home ring, at least.
06:51 - Pretty much is his hometown.
06:53 It's the home ring, the home turf,
06:55 home field advantage for Marcus Valle,
06:57 who trains right here in Plant City at the Pro Box facilities.
07:02 - Goga's been at South Pole for about 40 seconds to a minute now, guys.
07:06 See if he sticks around in this stance.
07:08 - I think he ate so many jabs from that orthodox position,
07:11 may not be a bad idea,
07:13 although Goga's having a pretty good round.
07:15 - Some swelling on the face of Marcus Valle as well.
07:18 - Ooh, nice uppercut on the inside there.
07:20 [bell dings]
07:22 [cheers and applause]
07:25 [crowd cheering]
07:36 - Everything is walking. We can't walk.
07:38 Let's use our jabs, man.
07:40 Let's work--let's raise our legs up.
07:41 Let's use the jab. Work behind the jab.
07:43 How about go?
07:44 You can't go 'cause your legs ain't ready.
07:46 Get 'em ready, okay?
07:48 Come on, champ.
07:50 Do what you want.
07:52 [upbeat music]
07:55
07:57 - I need you--I need you boxing.
07:59 I need you turning corners and boxing, okay?
08:02
08:07 - With that right hand, you were talking about
08:09 champ over the top, Barry Goga.
08:11 - Didn't land as good as I thought initially,
08:13 but still a good well-timed shot.
08:16 He might have an opportunity there...
08:17 [bell dings]
08:19 ...to counter that jab of Valle.
08:21 - 10-0, Ferret Goga in the white and sky blue trunks.
08:25 9-0, Marcus Valle in the black and purple.
08:29 [crowd shouting]
08:32 [crowd shouting]
08:34 - First five wins by knockout.
08:36 Goga has gone to decision... - Oh!
08:38 - ...in four of his last five.
08:40 - Goga set that up nicely.
08:42 Was jabbing from the outside, jab down to the body,
08:44 through the right hand over the top.
08:45 Big shots here from Goga.
08:47 - And a big smile on the face of Marcus Valle.
08:49 - That's right. - But for how long?
08:51 Southpaw again, Paulie.
08:53 - Yeah, but that's the thing.
08:54 When your defense is just keep your gloves high,
08:56 a repetition of straight punches
08:58 can bust through that guard sometimes,
09:00 which is important, why you need to sort of mix your defense
09:03 between blocking and also moving your head at close range.
09:07 - Personally, I like the guy's ear muffed in front of me
09:09 because I threw a lot of combinations.
09:11 You can always find-- - Yeah, the hole.
09:12 - You can always find the holes
09:13 when you keep a guy's hands at home.
09:16 - By trying to do exactly that from the angle.
09:19 - Yeah, but in Goga-- and that's why in Goga,
09:21 we're able to have some success there,
09:22 is because you throw enough shots at the glove,
09:24 it will reposition the glove,
09:26 and you can bust through.
09:28 So when you keep your gloves up like that,
09:29 you've got to be cognizant of that
09:31 and maybe fight it right back in between.
09:33 - I think Goga found a home for that right hand last round.
09:36 He saw that he can catch Valle with it.
09:38 Came out from the beginning of this round to set it up.
09:40 It looks like he's setting it up again right here.
09:43 There it is.
09:45 - And off the jab, it was the nice counter
09:47 a moment ago by Goga.
09:49 Goga said it was a war zone back in Congo.
09:52 His entire immediate family moved to Phoenix years ago,
09:56 and now about a dozen members of his family
09:59 have made their way to the desert.
10:02 Trains in suburban Glendale, Arizona.
10:05 Benson-Henderson territory.
10:07 - Can't imagine training in gyms out there.
10:09 It gets so hot. 117 degrees.
10:12 - It's a drier heat, Chris. - Yeah, okay.
10:15 - Yeah.
10:17 But you stick your head in the oven, it's a dry heat.
10:19 It's really hot. - Yeah.
10:20 - I speak from experience.
10:23 My home since 2004.
10:26 - Ooh, big shots here from Valle.
10:27 Not a lot landed, but he was loading up.
10:29 - And of course I see a guy with the nickname Shogun,
10:34 and I'm just looking for John Jones or Dan Henderson.
10:38 Shogun Hua in MMA
10:40 and proudly taking the Japanese barbarian
10:44 commander-in-chief nickname
10:46 is Congo's Farid Goga.
10:49 30 seconds, round three.
10:52 - Oh, three straight uppercuts there by Valle.
10:55 He's saying, "You're gonna keep your head in the inside?
10:57 I'll keep uppercutting it."
10:58 - And Goga comes back with some good combinations.
11:00 He hits with the right hand on the end there.
11:02 - Lot of southpaw still for Goga,
11:07 who said his best punch is his right,
11:10 his straight cross from the right side,
11:12 the orthodox side.
11:14 Right now, Valle putting a lot of pressure on him.
11:21 Good fight.
11:23 - Here we see some reaction from that last round.
11:36 That's that big overhand right that I was speaking about
11:38 the round before.
11:39 Goga did a good job early on setting that up.
11:41 Here we see him letting those hands go.
11:43 We spoke about that high guard defense,
11:45 how if you keep those hands moving,
11:47 you can find the holes,
11:48 and Goga had good success with that early in the round.
11:50 But later on, Valle came back.
11:52 There was that triple uppercut combination
11:54 punctuated with a nice hard jab at the end.
11:57 - You see, Goga also kind of rolled with some of those.
12:01 They didn't land as cleanly as initially thought as well,
12:03 but still, creative thinking on the part of Valle.
12:07 - Again, I think the jab has been the most effective punch
12:09 so far from Valle.
12:10 - Goga looking to make a major statement.
12:20 Against a highly touted 154-pounder
12:24 and 24-year-old Puerto Rican, Marcus Valle.
12:28 Black and purple for the Beast Shogun,
12:30 and the white and blue.
12:32 Round number four.
12:34 - Big right hand from Goga over the top there
12:37 right after Valle landed a nice jab.
12:39 - And he said, as I mentioned before, Chris,
12:41 he believes his right hand is the most dangerous weapon.
12:44 - And listen, I'm sure if Goga's gonna trade jabs
12:46 to right hands, he'll take the right hand all night long.
12:49 - Back to orthodox at least at the start of round number four.
12:54 Valle pushing the aggression.
12:56 - Goga did a good job of finding those holes.
13:00 Especially early in the rounds.
13:02 It seems like he fades a little later on.
13:04 - And we talk about it all the time.
13:09 Valle went the distance back in February with Jared Tennant.
13:13 Other than that, it's been finish after finish after finish.
13:18 The DeMarcus Layton night of work was very short.
13:22 Sanchez was DQ'd for holding.
13:26 And so Marcus really in a battle here tonight,
13:30 which is just gonna help him grow and grow and grow.
13:33 - You know, Valle has been hit to the body a few times,
13:37 and each time he's made an exclamation towards Goga.
13:43 I don't like telling guys what's going on,
13:45 and the fact that he's doing that may mean that
13:47 he's feeling those shots.
13:48 Good check hook there from Valle over the top.
13:52 - Valle trying to space out a little bit,
13:56 utilize that reach and height.
13:58 Misses with the uppercut.
13:59 - There's that hard jab again.
14:01 - Sometimes Valle looks to me like he's looking for one shot in particular,
14:05 and then it looks like he's aiming a good shot there.
14:08 Good uppercuts from both hands, but at times,
14:11 sometimes what you can do is you can throw some throwaway punches
14:14 to disguise the real shot you're looking for.
14:17 - All the way to the right, Valle!
14:19 - Valle's always dangerous with that left hook.
14:23 Keep an eye out for that.
14:25 - There it is, right on cue there, Goldie. Good call.
14:27 - Thank you, Chris.
14:28 - And Goga switching his southpaw.
14:30 He finds his little cheap ways of winning those little moments, you know?
14:34 Goga, he's no slouch.
14:36 - He's been a regular at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix,
14:40 the Glendale Civic Center.
14:42 First fight outside of his home state now of Arizona,
14:47 here on Pro Box TV.
14:49 - Time for Goga to step up and step out.
14:51 - You got that right.
14:52 And Goga, by the way, as we're in round 4,
14:54 10-0, he has averaged 3.4 rounds per fight.
14:58 So let's see how his stamina holds up if this one continues
15:03 to be a highly contested battle.
15:05 - Yeah, we just passed his average.
15:06 - I was gonna say, I'm no math wizard like you, Goldie,
15:09 but I believe we are past that point.
15:11 - Yeah, good combination there, Goga, at the end of the round.
15:13 - I'm all over it tonight, Chris.
15:15 - You're on fire, as usual.
15:18 - Thank you, brother.
15:19 - Ooh, a year old and a year wiser, right?
15:22 - That's exactly right. And a year sore.
15:25 - Past the midway point, Mark Freud.
15:38 - You're just standing there. You're throwing your shot,
15:40 and you're standing there.
15:41 We gotta use that jab, double right hand, double jab.
15:44 Bring it right. One, two, quick one, two.
15:46 Your head hunting, he goes down, go to the body.
15:48 Chance, you just got to work behind your jab
15:50 to shoot the right hand.
15:52 You're throwing shots, and then you're standing back.
15:54 You're not giving me an ass, you're not giving me an ass.
15:56 - I'm like that right hand.
15:58 - When you're in close, I need you swinging, okay?
16:02 Right now, I see a lot of times you're hitting 'em,
16:05 and you catch 'em, and then you're backing out, okay?
16:07 I don't need you backing out, I need you standing there.
16:10 You caught 'em, hit 'em, turn 'em, hit 'em, turn 'em.
16:13 - Arturo Ortega in the corner of Farid Goga.
16:18 Round number five, first career eight-round fight
16:24 for both of these men, well past his average.
16:26 As we mentioned before, Farid Shogun Goga.
16:30 - I will say, one of the things that's impressed me
16:33 about both Vahee brothers is their conditioning
16:36 and their work ethic in the gym.
16:37 - Yes.
16:38 Which goes back to, Pauly, what we were talking about before
16:44 where both Dominic and Marcus say they don't feel the pressure
16:48 because they know they put in the work.
16:50 - Oh, good right hand there by Marcus.
16:53 Yeah, I mean, that's where the confidence of any prospect
16:56 comes in, you know, when you know you're working your hardest,
16:59 honestly, you can go in the ring feeling you're prepared,
17:01 you feel the butterflies like normal, but of course,
17:04 you also feel that ultra-confidence.
17:06 Good combination there by Goga.
17:07 - No pressure.
17:08 - Step him back out the way the trainer, his trainer,
17:10 told him not to do, and Yarkis follows him back
17:12 and catches him with some shots.
17:14 Some good jabs by Goga.
17:17 - Goga's a tricky guy.
17:19 Switches sides, fights pretty well out of that southpaw position.
17:22 Sets up his punches nicely, upstairs, downstairs,
17:26 you see him mixing things up.
17:28 Seems to avoid the big shots pretty well.
17:33 - Marcus and Dominic's father, Junior,
17:36 has always told his boys, "Don't lie to yourself,"
17:39 and that goes back to the training and conditioning, Chris,
17:41 that you talked about.
17:42 Doesn't mean you're gonna win, doesn't mean you're gonna have a perfect night,
17:45 but at least you're not trying to fake it.
17:47 - No, these boys aren't faking it, the Bailly brothers.
17:50 They put in the work, and like you were alluding to, champ,
17:52 there's no bigger confidence boost in the world than being in shape.
17:55 - One year, nine months, and 13 days apart,
18:00 Marcus, the older of the two, Dominic fights on the 13th.
18:04 Got ourselves a fight here with two unbeaten men,
18:12 combined record of 19-0.
18:15 Shogun going southpaw a lot in this fight.
18:21 - You know, as you step up, the fights don't get easier.
18:24 - Nope.
18:28 - Shogun coming in.
18:30 Fergoga knew this was going to be the toughest test of his career,
18:35 and I think the same can be said, as we've seen so far, for Marcus Bailly.
18:39 - Oh yeah, without a doubt.
18:40 Definitely his toughest fight so far.
18:42 He's got a savvy guy in front of him, he's undefeated for a reason.
18:44 - And also, you know, he's been able to control the jab of Bailly a little bit better,
18:51 and it's made his own jab a little more effective, turning southpaw, Goga.
18:55 I think he's had a good jab from the southpaw stance,
18:57 and it's allowed him to not get hit with as many jabs being in southpaw,
19:01 as Bailly had shown a good jab early on, champ, as you had mentioned.
19:04 - And champ, you had mentioned how sometimes it seems like
19:07 Bailly gets on a one-track mind in terms of the punch that he's looking for.
19:10 Goga's the opposite.
19:11 He seems like he sets things up, lets his hands go, and finds openings and lets them go.
19:15 - Yeah, Goga kind of puts together punches and sees whatever can land out of those.
19:20 [bell ringing]
19:22 [whistle blowing]
19:32 [crowd cheering]
19:37 - See if you can get it going, all right?
19:43 Okay?
19:45 You gotta let those hands go.
19:48 [crowd cheering]
19:50 - We're good, we're good.
19:54 - You're going into the six, right?
19:59 [rock music]
20:15 - All right, let's see who the man gonna be in this one.
20:18 Will it be Marcus Valle or Farid Goga?
20:21 Start of round number six.
20:25 Valle, black and purple.
20:26 White and blue for Goga.
20:29 Last three fights have gone a full six rounds for Farid Goga.
20:42 Valle pouring it on here to start the round.
20:45 - Yeah, man, Valle finally putting the punches together, not really looking for the one at a time.
20:50 And he forces Goga to get on his bike.
20:53 - Yeah, but Valle's not cutting off the ring well, he's just following.
20:57 - Yeah, that's one thing he hasn't done really well tonight, Kemp.
21:00 To allow Goga to find the escape, especially going that way to the left.
21:04 And when Goga finds the escape, then he comes back to his own combination like he just did.
21:08 - Marcus has said in the past, he's gonna find a way to win every time.
21:14 He's gonna have to get creative.
21:16 Be brilliant at the basics and add in some other aspects of his ever-evolving arsenal
21:23 here against Farid Goga, 'cause this is a close fight.
21:26 - And Goga showed up in shape.
21:27 You know, you mentioned it earlier that he was working really hard in the beginning
21:31 and how long he's gonna keep it up.
21:33 We're in round number six and he's still here.
21:35 - Yeah, as a matter of fact, I think he succeeded in sort of slowing Valle's pace down.
21:39 'Cause Valle is not bringing as much of a pace as we've seen him earlier.
21:45 - Third fight of 2023 for Goga.
21:48 Same as I had mentioned earlier for Marcus Valle.
21:52 - Also, Valle at times is getting a little bit too predictable offensively.
21:55 And Goga's able to kind of figure that out.
21:58 - Also, I haven't seen many jabs from Valle.
22:03 - Not since he turned southpaw, Goga, right?
22:05 - Yep.
22:06 - And Goga landed a double jab from the southpaw stance last time.
22:09 - Again, there's another one.
22:10 - Yep.
22:10 - Yeah, Goga's jab got much better right out of the southpaw stance.
22:14 - Well, I think he did it to get away from Valle's jab and he's done a good job doing that.
22:18 - And inadvertently, he made his own jab.
22:19 - Exactly, inadvertently found his offense.
22:21 - Oh, it was a good combination by Goga.
22:23 - And I like to see Goga changes the levels.
22:26 He threw that jab down low and landed well, too.
22:27 - Well, that's the thing, champ.
22:28 He puts together the punches.
22:29 Then whatever lands, lands.
22:30 A lot of times you put together punches, you may create an opening from the earlier punches in the combination.
22:34 It's something Valle has to do.
22:36 Sometimes Valle looks like he's looking for every single shot he's throwing to be the one that lands.
22:40 Sometimes you've got to use throwaway punches.
22:42 - Cut under the eye of Valle, the left eye.
22:45 - Just saw that as well, partner.
22:48 - Which we were mentioning, the jab of Goga.
22:50 And he landed some right hooks as well.
22:52 - Good right hook there by Valle.
22:54 - That's a new punch.
22:56 A new weapon in the arsenal this fight.
23:00 Blood from the nose of Goga.
23:04 - 15 seconds, round number 6, scheduled for 8.
23:09 - Oh!
23:09 - Good hook.
23:10 - Goga staying up high on the ropes.
23:12 - Big left hook.
23:13 - That's his punch.
23:15 - That will remind you to--
23:16 - Goga answering.
23:16 - That will remind you to get low, right, Goldie?
23:18 - You got that right.
23:19 - Get out of the way.
23:21 - Especially coming from Valle, it's his best punch.
23:23 - And that was the uppercut there by Valle.
23:39 - Looking for it again, he misses it, but he comes back with the jab.
23:42 This is the early in the round when Valle finally started to--
23:44 just to put the combinations together, instead of trying to land every single shot on its own.
23:49 And then the good hook there is Goga staying too up high on the ropes.
23:53 Something you don't want to do is be that up high, especially with your hands low.
23:55 And a good hook by Valle.
23:57 - Beautiful shot.
23:58 Goga took that well, though. He came back almost immediately.
24:01 - I think between that, Goga did a lot of good work that last round, I gotta say.
24:04 - Some of that good work showing up on the face of Valle there.
24:07 - That little cut under the eye. Not in a bad position, doesn't look like it's a bad cut either.
24:11 - Come forward, turn corners, keep those hands up!
24:16 - Unchartered territory.
24:19 Seventh round for the first time for both men in their professional career.
24:25 Marcus Valle, 9-0. Ferret Goga, 10-0.
24:31 - In a very close fight, Goga has had a lot of success from the southpaw stance.
24:37 - But he's in the right-handed stance now.
24:39 - Both guys came out snapping hard jabs.
24:42 Neither one of them getting their head off the line, so they've been landing pretty clean.
24:45 - Wants to land that right cross to Goga.
24:49 - Goga's moving right into the right hand right now.
24:52 Keeps moving to his left with his left hand down.
24:54 - Also, Valle's jab gets working better when Goga's in the right-handed stance.
24:58 - And what's Goga doing? Turns southpaw.
25:00 I was wondering how long he would stay there.
25:02 - Oh, Goga makes up those shots well, those little lead uppercut.
25:07 - Goga, I don't know if he does this on purpose or inadvertently, but he changes levels a lot.
25:11 So it makes him difficult to hit, it makes him difficult to really track his trajectory of his offense.
25:16 - He's tricky, he's a very fluid fighter.
25:20 Like you said, he lets things go, finds the openings and lets the hands go.
25:24 - It's a bit unorthodox.
25:26 - It's very unorthodox, but it's effective at times.
25:29 - And staying low against a guy who's two inches taller and has about a three-inch reach advantage is never a bad idea either.
25:36 - There's Valle's jab hitting the southpaw of Goga.
25:40 You'd like to see more from Valle.
25:43 Also, what he's doing, he's allowing Goga's jab to back him up.
25:48 And Goga's doing a good job of continuing that jab, because he either lands it or backs Valle out of position.
25:52 Valle needs to, you'd like to see Valle do a good hook there by Valle.
25:55 What you'd like to see Valle do is sometimes slip and counter with a right hand on that jab from Goga.
25:59 Because it's not like Goga feints with it or throws it at a different speed.
26:01 It's coming at the same speed.
26:03 So at times you've got to almost expect it.
26:05 And see right there again, he did that time and landed, but what did he do?
26:07 He took Valle out of position. There's no counter there.
26:09 - Little slip and rip.
26:11 Goga pushing Valle, unlike any of his opponents have done thus far in his professional career.
26:21 - See again, that jab. Valle's got to learn to deal with it a little bit better.
26:27 - And to Goga's credit, he came on jabbing all night.
26:29 - He did. It's all part of the evolution, all part of the journey.
26:34 - Right here, either man, if they had a feint, it could really change.
26:38 - Yep, change just a little bit of trajectory.
26:40 - Just a little bit. Because they're both standing in front of each other posing.
26:42 - But at least what Goga does, Champ, he changes levels. So it almost acts as a feint at times.
26:46 - There it is. That was actually a good counter there.
26:48 - Good counter there from Valle though.
26:50 - And that opened the cut.
26:52 - And that's what you call a good counter.
26:54 - The jab a moment ago, that cut under the left eye of Marcus Valle opened up a little bit now.
26:59 - And Valle would have done a body shot a second ago as well.
27:01 - Almost poured into the rib cage again there.
27:04 - Round number seven, scheduled for eight.
27:08 - Goga has flashed a good shin, very good durability. He's been hit with some big shots tonight.
27:12 - Landed a share of his share as well.
27:16 - Yeah.
27:17 - Ooh.
27:18 - We got a fight on our hands.
27:20 - Ooh.
27:21 - And that's a good shot.
27:22 - We got a fight on our hands.
27:24 [applause]
27:28 [music]
27:32 [applause]
28:00 - Three minutes remain.
28:03 - And just know, you win that, or you can turn around and pop it off, and start turning around and punching,
28:07 and hit him, and finish this shit.
28:10 But right now, that's just, that's just too close.
28:13 You either finish it...
28:15 - Eighth and final round.
28:20 Marcus Valle, Barragoga.
28:26 - Goga looking to defeat his second straight unbeaten fighter.
28:32 Southpaw quickly.
28:35 - Comes out right-handed every time that he turns Southpaw.
28:37 - Yeah, he comes out with a jab, and then with a orthodox position,
28:40 then he switches Southpaw to try to be more elusive.
28:42 But both men are coming out here looking to make an exclamation point.
28:46 - First fight was a draw. This one a close one as well.
28:55 - Counter jab by Goga again.
28:58 - That left hook thrown by Valle.
29:02 - Yeah, champ, you were right the last round about that feint, man.
29:08 What a feint would do, in between the rhythm of these guys, right?
29:11 - For either one of them. Either one of them.
29:14 - A lot of movement from Goga a moment ago.
29:16 Trying to roll under and find an opening.
29:18 - Oh, good lead. Again, that lead hand from Goga, very, very solid.
29:23 - Oh, and it's Goga switching up the punches, man. Punch variation.
29:28 - And that's what it is, champ. He just puts them together.
29:30 - Now, you think the Southpaw attack from Goga has been a bit of a surprise?
29:36 - Could it be? Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
29:38 Could it be that Valle just never expected it?
29:40 - Absolutely.
29:41 - I don't even think Goga expected it. He just turned Southpaw.
29:43 He's like, "This is working. I'm just going to stay."
29:45 - Well, I see what you mean when I said fluid, and you said awkward.
29:47 He's like awkwardly fluid. I didn't mean fluid like it looks good.
29:50 I mean fluid because he just lets it go.
29:52 - It's not smooth, but it works.
29:53 - No, it's certainly not smooth, but it works.
29:55 - Smooth and unrolled.
29:56 - Oh, good right hand there by Goga.
29:58 - Pass the midway point of the eighth and final round.
30:01 - Oh.
30:08 - Valle just missed with that hook.
30:09 - And he took a headbutt for it.
30:11 - Right on that injured eye.
30:13 - Good counter, good little jab there from Valle.
30:18 - That was a little slip and rip there, Paulie, finally.
30:21 - And then Goga comes right back, and that's the thing.
30:23 If Valle doesn't follow it up, Goga will take the initiative instead.
30:26 - 45 seconds.
30:38 - There's a fade.
30:41 - Again, that jab from Goga, even if it doesn't land, what does it do?
30:47 It's taking Valle out of position.
30:50 - Well, he needs to be set.
30:51 He wants to have those feet set so he can throw those power shots.
30:54 - Good jab by Valle.
30:55 - Good right hand, too.
30:56 - Valle with Kaya turning into a little bit of the boxer here,
31:02 fighting in the middle distance and outside.
31:04 - Final 15 seconds of this fight.
31:06 - It's going to be another one where both guys thought they won.
31:13 - Yep.
31:14 - The competitor, good right hand there by Valle.
31:16 Every little bit counts if you want to punctuate the round.
31:19 - Got to finish strong, especially in the last round.
31:22 - They go the distance.
31:24 Marcus Valle and Ferret Goga.
31:29 Younger brother Dominic.
31:33 Definitely some butterflies in his stomach right now.
31:44 - Coming up next, it is our co-main event of the evening.
31:50 Marcelino "Nicholas" Lopez comes in on short notice
31:55 for a 10-round welterweight matchup against Tarek Zaynab.
32:01 Born in Morocco, now training in Tijuana, Mexico.
32:06 This guy's got, I think, as many degrees as you have.
32:11 Been in 54 different countries.
32:14 Loves Mexico, highly educated, but beats people up for a living.
32:19 That is our co-main.
32:21 Coming up next, Valle and Goga Goldie-Fullay.
32:26 - Yeah, this was a real battle here.
32:31 Battle of attrition, positioning, two undefeated prospects.
32:36 Neither one wanted to give an inch.
32:39 And a battle of very differing styles.
32:42 - Yeah, and the combinations of Goga really, I think, did a lot of good work.
32:46 Valle landed some good shots in single mode with body shots,
32:51 some solid uppercuts.
32:53 I'm telling you, man, this is another difficult one to score here.
32:56 - Yeah, neither guy let the other one pull away with it,
32:59 even though they were both trying throughout.
33:01 - That's what you get when you got undefeated guys.
33:03 Either one wants to really give up that O.
33:05 - Neither guy knows how to lose.
33:07 - This was at the beginning of that sixth round where Valle came out really strong
33:11 and then finished strong with that hook.
33:13 Goga was too up high on the ropes.
33:15 - And I think some of these big, clean shots that we're seeing,
33:18 they could be the difference.
33:20 If you're a judge and you're having trouble picking a round,
33:22 big, clean shots like that could be in your mind.
33:24 - Especially at the end of some of the rounds.
33:26 Valle did a good job of closing a few of the rounds with the bigger shot
33:29 right at the end, which is something that in a close round
33:32 maybe the judge will take into consideration and give to you.
33:34 - Did a good job with that in the eighth round, the final round,
33:36 right there with that big right hand.
33:38 - Judges have rendered their decision.
33:43 Who will remain unbeaten as a professional with the official decision?
33:49 Here is Mark Lichtenfeld.
33:51 - Ladies and gentlemen, after eight hard punching rounds,
33:56 we go to the scorecards.
33:58 Rose Lissend scores at 77-75.
34:03 Shami Shipman and Rodolfo Aguilar see it 78-74
34:08 for your winner by unanimous decision and still undefeated,
34:13 Marcus Valle!
34:19 - Unanimous decision victory in his first career eight-rounder.
34:23 Valle is 10-0.
34:31 Toughest test of his professional career, passed.
34:36 (laughter)
