00:00 Look at the newlyweds. So cute.
00:03 Rocking that new ring too, I see Gypsy.
00:05 - This was actually his mother's.
00:07 So, this passed down to me.
00:10 - It was always meant to go to my wife, so.
00:12 - And it fits perfectly.
00:13 It didn't need to be adjusted at all or anything.
00:15 - Well, I guess it was just meant to be.
00:16 - Meant to be, right.
00:17 - Exactly.
00:18 - You are the one, as you said on the green.
00:20 So, I got to know though, Gypsy,
00:22 how many men wrote to you,
00:24 wanting to date you while you were in prison?
00:27 - Um, a lot.
00:29 - I need some numbers.
00:30 Give me an estimate.
00:31 - Come on, hit her.
00:33 Hit her with it.
00:34 - Over 250.
00:35 - Over 250?
00:38 - From all different countries.
00:39 - From all countries.
00:40 Italy, Germany.
00:41 - I said seven continents have hit on you.
00:42 - All right, so what about Ryan made him the one?
00:45 What's different about Ryan?
00:46 - Well, Ryan's from Louisiana.
00:48 And I mean, there's one of a kind.
00:51 But he's from Louisiana,
00:52 and I'm originally from Louisiana.
00:53 So, I saw that and I'm kind of like,
00:56 hey, you know, someone from my home state,
00:59 we probably have a lot in common.
01:00 So, I wrote him a letter back,
01:01 and we became friends,
01:03 and then of course more than friends,
01:05 and then now we're married.
01:08 - Incredible, congratulations to you both.
01:10 How many women now have tried to pursue you, Ryan,
01:13 now that you're with Gypsy?
01:14 - Um, I haven't even given it any thought.
01:18 I mean, look at this beautiful woman I'm sitting next to.
01:20 - But I have a feeling,
01:21 I have a feeling that there's a lot of attraction
01:23 coming to you from other women out there.
01:25 - Somewhat.
01:25 - There has been a few, and I hit the block button.
01:27 I'm like, mm, block.
01:29 (laughing)
01:31 - And I just let her.
01:32 I'm like, go for it.
01:33 - Happy wife, happy life.
01:35 - That's right.
01:36 - So, how is it now being a newlywed couple
01:39 in the real world, outside of prison?
01:41 - We call it a newly together-wed.
01:43 - Yeah.
01:44 - You know, 'cause we've been married a year and--
01:45 - A year and a half?
01:46 - A year and a half. - A year and a half, yeah.
01:47 - So, it's newly together-wed, but it's nice.
01:50 Like, it's what I've been waiting for.
01:51 - But was the transition difficult?
01:52 I mean, for a year or so,
01:54 you guys were married behind bars.
01:57 Now you're newly together.
01:59 So, what's that transition been like for the two of you?
02:02 - I mean, maybe, what, it's been five, six days?
02:04 - Yeah, but I think--
02:05 - So, we're still learning each other.
02:06 - Yeah, the transition has been pretty simple right now,
02:09 but it's, like, I cleaned out his closet
02:12 and put my clothes in it, and I'm just kind of--
02:15 - I have a room already.
02:16 Don't let her fool you.
02:17 (laughing)
02:18 - So, I was like, integrating, you know,
02:20 into our new life together,
02:22 and just settling into married life.
02:23 We cooked our first dinner together,
02:25 and, you know, it's fun.
02:27 We're learning about each other.
02:29 I've already told him to put his toilet seat down
02:31 several times.
02:32 - And Gypsy.
02:33 It'll never end.
02:34 You will constantly have to tell him.
02:36 - Hounding, hounding.
02:37 - Yeah, just get used to it.
02:39 Now, both of your families suggested that you wait
02:41 to get married until Gypsy's release.
02:44 Why did you choose not to do that?
02:46 What was the rush?
02:47 - Well, you know, with us getting married,
02:50 she was able to come live with me straight out of prison.
02:52 So, that was important.
02:53 You know, it's what we both wanted.
02:55 You know, we didn't want a date,
02:57 and then, you know, she'd come out and be like,
03:00 "Okay, I'm going three and a half hours away
03:02 "from where you live.
03:03 "I'll talk to you later."
03:04 So, it was one of those we just wanted to, you know.
03:07 People did want us to wait some,
03:09 but it was one of those where we knew what we wanted to do.
03:11 And, you know, it's, you know,
03:14 she's never got to live her life before.
03:16 So, it's one of those where, you know,
03:17 our parents were like, "Well, let's let her live it."
03:19 And that's what they did.
03:20 - But, understandably so, if you're living your life
03:23 really for the first time,
03:25 was there not a part of yourself
03:26 that wanted to do it alone, independently?
03:30 - I think that spending eight and a half years in prison,
03:34 all I was was alone.
03:36 And I was tired of sleeping in a bed by myself.
03:40 I was tired of feeling like I had no one
03:43 to share memories with.
03:45 I always knew that I wanted to share it with someone.
03:49 I just didn't know who.
03:51 And I know who.
03:53 - Awesome.
03:54 - My mother walked into the room
03:57 and she had a wheelchair with her.
03:59 And very bluntly told me to use the wheelchair.
04:05 I didn't understand her reasonings, but I trusted her.
04:14 She was my best friend and I loved her.
04:17 - What reservations, if any,
04:18 do you have about having children someday
04:20 after considering what you've experienced
04:23 in your own childhood?
04:24 Do we have any reservations?
04:26 - I don't have any reservations.
04:28 We both have talked about starting a family.
04:31 We just don't know when yet.
04:32 My life is a little hectic right now.
04:35 So we're just trying to take it day by day.
04:38 We're just trying to start off the marriage on a good foot
04:41 before we bring kids into the situation right now.
04:44 - But never say never.
04:45 - Ryan, how are you dealing with the newfound fame
04:49 and being in the spotlight?
04:51 - It's different.
04:52 I'm a very private person.
04:54 You know, I'm a teacher, so it was one of those where
04:57 I didn't want my school involved or any of my kids,
04:59 but it's been different.
05:00 I knew who I married.
05:03 You know, it was one of those where we talked long
05:05 and extensively about it.
05:06 You know, she was like, "Are you sure?
05:07 "Are you sure?"
05:08 And of course I was.
05:09 I mean, I'm in love with this girl.
05:10 So it was one of those where it was not even,
05:13 you know, it wasn't even a question.
05:14 I was like, "Yeah, I'm gonna marry you."
05:16 I knew I was gonna marry you
05:18 from the first moment I met you,
05:19 talked to you maybe.
05:20 But it was one of those,
05:22 I fell in love with the moment I heard the voice.
05:23 - What do you say to the haters that don't think
05:26 this relationship will pan out?
05:29 - Just wait and see.
05:30 We love proving people wrong.
05:31 - Well, you're already clapping back on social media.
05:34 Y'all have some spicy things to say to each other.
05:37 - Well, we're newlyweds, like, you know.
05:40 - I mean, I--
05:41 - We're married.
05:42 - What's hard for me is watching, you know,
05:44 the negative comments towards him.
05:46 I can handle negative comments towards me
05:48 because I don't care.
05:49 But when it's about somebody that I love,
05:51 I wanna clap back.
05:53 And that was my, you know, clap back a little bit.
05:56 I'm gonna come to his defense.
05:57 He's my man.
05:59 It's what wives do.
