00:02 Dance, dance the night away.
00:05 Hey!
00:06 Yes!
00:07 How you doing?
00:08 You look gorgeous.
00:09 I'm good baby girl, how are you?
00:10 I'm good, this is Carly.
00:11 Hi Carly, come on in, come on in guys.
00:13 Alright, we've got you, we've got you, we've got you.
00:16 It's a big night.
00:17 It's a big night.
00:18 You are nominated.
00:19 Yes, we are.
00:20 The movie has taken over all of us.
00:22 So what are we feeling tonight?
00:24 Excited.
00:25 Really excited, just to be a part of it.
00:27 To like feel this energy, it feels so good.
00:29 We're very happy to be here.
00:30 Yeah, so did you guys collaborate on a bunch of stuff?
00:33 We wrote this together.
00:34 So you wrote this together.
00:35 So when you're sitting down writing, are you like, I mean do you have that hook in your head?
00:39 What's in your head first?
00:40 The hook, the words?
00:41 We started with the melody first.
00:43 We started with the melody.
00:44 It was like just going back and forth and getting the melody right to where we wanted to.
00:48 And then we started to put together the words and the story and where we were headed.
00:52 Is there a time where you look at each other and you're like, "Ooooh!"
00:57 All the time.
00:58 Yeah!
00:59 We like to hype ourselves.
01:02 Right?
01:03 You had a cameo in the film as well.
01:05 So how fun was that?
01:07 Oh, so much fun.
01:08 Just to be a part of such an incredible team and an incredible film and to work with Greta Gerwig.
01:13 I just loved it.
01:16 It feels like a real family or felt like a real family, everyone who was on set together.
01:20 So yeah, grateful for the experience.
01:23 I mean three out of the six songs nominated tonight are from Barbie.
01:26 I know, I know.
01:27 It's unbelievable.
01:28 But I think there was so much love and effort put into the film, put into the music, put into everything
01:33 that I think people just reacted to it the way that everybody on the team felt making it.
01:39 So it's lovely to see all the songs.
01:41 Are we getting some new music from you soon?
01:44 Maybe.
01:45 Yeah, yeah, we are for sure, for sure.
01:47 2024, lots of new music.
01:49 So what's the vibe?
01:51 What's the headspace you were in when you were making this new music?
01:56 Well, it was a lot about trying to change it up a little bit.
02:02 Like I'm always quite wary of repeating myself or doing, so I love to do something a little bit different.
02:08 Caroline and I worked on the whole record together, so that's very exciting for our friendship.
02:16 But it's more like a still a pop record.
02:20 Is it a lover girl era?
02:22 Is it fun?
02:23 Is it more introspective?
02:24 Is it everything maybe?
02:26 It's a bit of everything.
02:28 I think it's a lot of knowing your worth, understanding the things that have been happening in your life
02:36 and different chapters and being able to really pinpoint them with each song and where I was at a certain point in my life.
02:43 I dig it. I think that's a good way to put it.
02:46 I'm still learning how to describe my stories without them being out yet.
02:52 But they're all very personal, so I'm excited.
02:55 I love those "ooh" moments.
02:57 Okay, "ooh" moments and a very personal album. I love that.
03:01 So when you saw this dress, were you like, "Okay, why is this it?"
03:05 So this is a custom Schiaparelli dress, which I love because I love the drama.
03:12 It's a very Hollywood event. I felt like we had to come and do the full Hollywood thing.
03:17 Also makes me feel like I'm cosplaying Mermaid Barbie still for a little bit longer.
03:21 With my little fish tail at the end.
03:24 So let's do a little toast. A little toast for a cause with Moët. Here we go.
03:29 So Moët is going to donate $1,000 to the charity of your choice.
03:33 And then they're also going to match $1,000 to the Motion Picture Television Fund.
03:37 So who are we toasting to?
03:40 I think we're going to do it to Sunny Hill Foundation.
03:44 Which is a foundation that I started in Kosovo, which aids the young people of Kosovo in all the creative arts.
03:51 And supports different NGOs and festivals and stuff like that.
03:56 I love that. Let's toast to that.
03:58 Thank you.
03:59 And toast to all the success.
04:00 Cheers, babes.
04:01 Cheers.
