00:00 Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are seeking a reliable support system amid all of the
00:12 controversy and backlash that was sparked by Omid Scobie's new book Endgame.
00:18 And they desperately need the support.
00:28 The release of Omid Scobie's new book is described as a deep examination of the British
00:34 monarchy's current state.
00:36 And it has been stirring up a lot of chatter.
00:40 A lot of people are complaining about the book, they're bashing Omid Scobie, they're
00:44 bashing Harry and Meghan.
00:46 And the situation escalated when the Dutch version of the book identified two members
00:51 of the royal family accused of making a racist comment about Prince Archie.
00:56 And that of course led to widespread backlash all across the planet.
01:05 There's one PR expert, Laura Perks, and she went on to say that amid all of the challenges
01:11 for both the Windsors, so William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and
01:16 Meghan, they are also requiring a support network.
01:20 And Laura thinks that this is really necessary for them to discuss their feelings and navigate
01:24 the situation.
01:32 Laura goes on to talk about how things could be for Harry and Meghan and in an interview,
01:40 this is what she had to say specifically.
01:42 The situation with Harry and Meghan is undoubtedly hard on everyone involved.
01:46 And while much of this has been brought on by them or involves them in some way, it must
01:53 be emotionally draining on them, their relationship with their friends, as well as each other.
01:58 I hope they're leaning on their support network in private and being honest and vulnerable
02:03 with their feelings.
02:05 On that note though, this is something that specifically Harry has struggled with.
02:10 I think he's even said it himself, you know, being open and honest about his feelings.
02:14 It's not something that comes natural to him.
02:16 So she's saying, well, hopefully they have people that they can actually do that with
02:20 because regardless, this is a pretty bad situation to be in.
02:24 And the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, like all humans, definitely need that support, especially
02:29 in a situation like this.
02:30 From there, she went on to add these comments.
02:33 It can't be easy living your life under the watchful eye of the public and the media.
02:39 So turning to their celebrity friends who can, to some extent, relate to their situation
02:44 will provide the salvation they need.
02:47 It may be difficult for Harry to open up and feel secure in his vulnerability as he's been
02:54 brought up in a family that never complains, never explains.
02:59 And yeah, that's pretty much like the same thing that I was saying.
03:01 You know, it's tough for Harry.
03:04 Meghan's a little bit different by when it comes to Harry being raised in the royal family.
03:07 You don't really talk about that stuff publicly.
03:09 And also, we've seen reports that their celebrity friends, they are kind of distancing themselves
03:16 from Harry and Meghan.
03:17 To who knows how many people they actually have in their support network.
03:22 For sure, Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland, she's a confidante, and she's somebody that Meghan
03:27 goes to.
03:28 So at least there's one person, but who else?
03:31 Because it's not like they can call up people in the royal family to be like, "Hey, by the
03:35 way, I'm dealing with this."
03:37 But it has to do with bashing the royal family.
03:40 I think there's some people that Harry and Meghan are still close in the royal family,
03:44 but in general, you know, who do they have?
03:46 Who do they have as a support system?
03:48 Lori continued to elaborate on her comments about Prince Harry.
03:52 She suggests that Prince Harry is very unaccustomed to expressing his emotions openly and requires
03:57 a trusted support network.
03:59 She acknowledges that public defenses also from celebrity friends have faced backlash
04:06 in the past, potentially leading Harry and Meghan to seek private support.
04:10 So in the past, yeah, people who are well known in the public eye have defended Harry
04:15 and Meghan, and they've received some backlash.
04:18 So they're probably like, "Ah, you know, we're not going to really speak up and defend Harry
04:22 and Meghan in this one because we don't want to risk the backlash."
04:25 So yeah, Harry and Meghan would be wise to seek private support.
04:31 After all, they don't want to give their celebrity friends another reason to distance themselves
04:34 even more from them, right?
04:36 So I don't think that they're going around and trying to get celebrity friends to release
04:40 statements or anything like that.
04:42 Uh-uh.
04:43 They've also been very quiet about this whole thing, and they haven't really addressed it
04:46 publicly in any way.
04:48 While public solidarity may not be evident, Laura hopes that their friends are privately
04:53 providing advice to guide the couple towards positive decisions.
04:58 So we see Laura kind of took it from the perspective of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, because
05:03 even though she says that they may have brought a lot of this on themselves, at the end of
05:07 the day, there's no proof that they were the ones that told Omid Scobie to put that in
05:13 the book.
05:14 And I think Omid Scobie is trying to backtrack.
05:15 I think accidentally he put it in the book and it got through.
05:19 Whoever was editing the book may have accidentally kept it in there, and it was published, and
05:26 a lot of the backlash is falling on Harry and Meghan.
05:29 I don't think that it was their fault in this sense.
05:32 I think it was more Omid Scobie's fault.
05:34 But I want to know what you guys think about this.
05:37 Omid Scobie, Harry and Meghan, do you think that they both equally deserve the public
05:42 backlash that they've been getting?
05:44 Or do you think that, like myself, it falls on Omid Scobie, at least in this case?
05:49 I'm curious to know your thoughts about it.
