00:00 Jada Pinkett Smith has shared that the notorious slap at the 2022 Oscars actually played a
00:12 crucial role in saving her marriage with Will Smith.
00:16 What?
00:17 Ok guys, how can a slap actually save a marriage?
00:24 In a recent interview, she reflected, and this is what she said.
00:27 "After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will's side, it took that
00:32 slap for me to see I will never leave him."
00:35 And she also pondered the unknowns, and this is what she said in the interview, "Who knows
00:40 where our relationship would be if that hadn't happened."
00:44 Jada Pinkett revealing they've been living completely separate lives since 2016.
00:48 That's one way to make lemonade out of lemons, and another way to put a positive spin on
00:55 things.
00:56 Ok.
00:57 So the couple, Jada and Will, they got married back in 1997, and they recently disclosed
01:03 that they've been separated for seven years, and this happened in October of 2023 when
01:08 Jada revealed this information.
01:18 Jada Pinkett Smith recalled the pivotal moment when Will Smith intervened at the Oscars after
01:24 Chris Rock made some comments and made a joke about her having alopecia.
01:33 The whole world thought it was funny, but Will somehow snapped and lost it, slapped
01:38 the guy on stage on live TV.
01:42 And now Jada is actually calling it the "holy slap," and this of course signifies the positive
01:48 outcomes that came from the slap.
01:50 Jada expressed gratitude for attending the event, saying that "such moments reveal
01:55 the true nature of a relationship when things become challenging."
02:05 Even after Jada shared some intimate details, including her affair with August Alsina, in
02:11 her memoir, while Will Smith stood by her during a joint appearance in October of 2023.
02:18 In Will, he had acknowledged the complexity of their relationship, describing it as "brutal,"
02:25 which is a blend of brutal and beautiful experiences.
02:29 And Will Smith also showed some gratitude to Jada for her support, recognizing that
02:35 his dreams were significantly built on the foundation of her sacrifices.
02:40 And he also mentioned that Jada's memoir served as a big wake-up call for him, realizing
02:45 that a form of emotional blindness can actually set in when you've been with somebody for
02:51 more than half your life.
02:53 And on Jada's part, she also had something similar to say, and this is what she had to
02:57 say in her own words, "You never stop learning about your partner.
03:02 I gave Will such intimate insight into everything in a way that I don't know if he would have
03:08 had without a book.
03:11 I think that's been a huge benefit.
03:14 It's really beautiful."
03:15 Okay guys, with that said, I'm not sure how I feel about this.
03:20 On one hand, I'm all for making lemonade out of lemons.
03:25 I get it.
03:26 Taking a negative situation, learning from it, extracting the positive, and moving forward.
03:33 But at the same time, what message did Will Smith and Jada just send?
03:38 I'm grateful for the slap, well, for you, but what about for the other people that witnessed
03:44 it and the fans, the people that looked up to you and Will Smith and even Chris Rock
03:50 as a person, as a human, how dehumanizing that was for him.
03:56 I guess they talked about it, they did apologize, okay, I get it.
04:00 But at the same time, something like that, it's not gonna be easily forgotten.
04:05 And I think right now, Jada and Will are just trying to do a lot of cleanup, trying to reshape
04:11 their public image.
04:12 I don't think they have it yet.
04:14 I think the public is largely not in favor of Jada and Will.
04:19 Not necessarily that they're these evil people, but just when you're that famous and on that
04:25 level of public attention being on you all the time, your actions have a greater impact
04:34 in society.
04:35 That's just how it goes.
04:36 So guys, what are your thoughts about this?
04:39 Let me know in the comments below.

04:57 And if you're not a fan of Will Smith, let me know in the comments below.
05:01 And if you're not a fan of Will Smith, let me know in the comments below.
05:05 Yeah, so I guess this is what it is.
05:10 You know, their relationship or non-relationship, whatever it is for Jada and Will, it seems
05:15 to be working for them.
05:17 But again, is this just a facade and trying to keep up the image of, yeah, things are
05:23 working, yeah, we're working out and it's going great.
05:26 Look, we fixed it.
05:27 We've made a positive out of a negative and look at us.
05:31 Like we're growing.
05:33 All of that to just mask that the marriage is actually pretty much over and they're just
05:38 delaying the inevitable.
05:39 Okay, guys, I've said a lot.
05:40 I'm going to get out of here.
05:41 I look forward to seeing you guys in the next one.
05:42 Boom.
05:42 to seeing you guys in the next one.
