Transcript
00:00 Well, Leon, thanks for joining us. We're here to talk about Leeds United on this particular
00:07 version of the short-form podcast that we've got going here at the YP now. Obviously, a
00:12 great FA Cup win in the third round for them at the weekend, three Nill at Peterborough
00:16 goals for Ethan Ampadu and a rather special one for Patrick Bamford. How impressed were
00:21 you with the performance overall and in particular, when you want to get onto it, Bamford's goal?
00:27 Yeah, I mean, he doesn't give too much away, Daniel Farker, and I get the sense he's not
00:34 easily satisfied, but he seemed pretty happy after the final whistle at Peterborough. So,
00:40 he should be really, Phil. He sort of made six changes in all and he got some good game
00:49 time and starts into several players. Jayden Anthony started, he switched Archie Gray into
00:57 midfield. Yeah, quite a few other players as well. Jamie Shackleton, we've not seen
01:02 too much of him. So, he sort of mixed it up a bit and he kept a few big hitters on the
01:07 bench, you know, the Somervilles and Zirginio Ruta. And yeah, I think it went as well as
01:15 it could have envisaged, really. You've got to think Peterborough as well, they're flying
01:19 high in League One, they're going for promotion, they're one of the better footballing teams
01:25 as well. And, you know, ahead of the game, he'd spoken about, you know, sort of facing
01:30 Peterborough, was akin to really, you know, facing the team in the bottom half of the
01:35 Championship. And I think as well, you know, the narrative of Leeds had lost the last three
01:40 away games. And, you know, away form has become a little bit of an issue of late, hasn't it?
01:47 They've obviously lost at West Bron, they lost at Preston and Sunderland as well. Lost
01:53 six league games away, they've not lost any at home. They've actually lost more away games
01:59 in the league than they've won. So, I just think as well, historically, Leeds' record
02:05 in cups and going out to low division sides, that was a factor as well. So, that, I liked
02:10 the away form and needing a bit of a confidence booster. Everything came together, Phil, I
02:17 think he got quite a lot out of it and obviously a wonderful goal from Patrick Bamford that
02:25 people will be talking about for some time.
02:26 Yeah.
02:27 Yeah.
02:28 Yeah.
02:29 Yeah.
02:30 Yeah.
