00:00 The busiest city in the world just got a lot noisier. The tech community is in Las Vegas
00:07 for CES, the Consumer Electronics Show. Thousands of tech companies will be spread out across
00:14 the equivalent of 43 football fields. And the big topic everywhere this year is artificial
00:21 intelligence used by this company which monitors your health via a selfie.
00:26 "Our AI is a big part of this. We're actually using what we call effective AI. Effective
00:31 AI, what we're doing is we're taking physiological and psychological biomarkers and we're using
00:36 that to basically understand your health condition in real time."
00:39 AI is also being used in space.
00:42 "The AI is very important because since we are working first of all with the astronauts,
00:50 the AI is going to collect the data. Our main and huge step is that we are preparing an
00:58 AI as a psychologist for astronauts for Mars."
01:02 Back on Earth, governments are trying to wrangle how to regulate AI to protect our data.
01:08 "What we're advocating for in the United States, because we are a US Canadian organization,
01:12 is that we need to be Goldilocks with the three bears. The porridge has to be just right.
01:18 You have to balance privacy against innovation. We have to welcome change, we have to be willing
01:23 to pivot and those companies and countries which do that will be the winners."
01:28 But CES will also showcase all the latest gadgets. From the world's first ski skates
01:34 to the tech you take home.
01:37 "This massager is not just massaging the body but it also strengthens my core because it
01:42 has the first technology to move my two legs independently. Such technology will be widely
01:48 available at CES this year which expects to see 130,000 attendees.
