Join the cast of the upcoming movie Mean Girls with interviews on what it was like adapting these beloved characters from the original to bring a fresh look and feel. Mean Girls stars Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Christopher Briney, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Ashley Park, Tina Fey, with Tim Meadows.
From the comedic mind of Tina Fey comes a new twist on the modern classic, MEAN GIRLS. New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called “The Plastics,” ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Regina’s crosshairs. As Cady sets to take down the group’s apex predator with the help of her outcast friends Janis (Auli’i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), she must learn how to stay true to herself while navigating the most cutthroat jungle of all: high school.
Mean Girls is produced by Lorne Michaels and Tina Fey. Jeff Richmond, Nell Benjamin, Eric Gurian, Erin David, and Pamela Thur serve as executive producers. Based on the Stage Musical “MEAN GIRLS." The screenplay is by Tina Fey.
Mean Girls, directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr., opens in theaters on January 12, 2024.

00:00 I'm so thrilled about this cast that have come together on Mean Girls.
00:03 Everybody showed up and brought it.
00:08 And Gowrie Rice plays Katie. She really delivers in this role.
00:13 She embodied this character so fully. You really feel everything through what she's expressing.
00:20 You're really gonna get noticed around here.
00:22 The plastic.
00:24 They're a tall order to live up to and I think these girls put their own twist on it.
00:30 Fierce as hell.
00:31 Queen B, Regina George is Renee Rapp.
00:35 Already a fan favorite. Fierce, phenomenal talent.
00:39 She's powerful, she's sexy.
00:42 Get in, loser.
00:45 Avantika plays Karen. The way she makes her look so fierce yet so stupid is so smart as an actor. And so
00:53 innovative.
00:55 B.B. Wood is Gretchen. She makes Gretchen so much fun. When she auditioned for the movie, they were like, "Whoa, there's Gretchen.
01:03 That's our Gretchen."
01:04 Chris plays Aaron. Chris doesn't know this, but I did take some independent surveys of teens.
01:08 He's a unanimous choice to play Aaron. Oh my gosh, Jackwell Spivey is playing Damian.
01:16 He's incredibly talented. He brought so many things into the film.
01:19 Like there's a fan in the gym scene and you're like, "This is brilliant. Like how did you just do that?"
01:25 He is so funny.
01:27 Ali Cravalho is playing Janice. She just brings this rawness and truthfulness to Janice.
01:34 Yes, bitch. There's like so many really cool, really talented young people.
01:39 Everyone brings something new to the table.
01:41 So many people. Ashley Park, John Hamm, Jenna Fisher, Busy Phillips, Tim Meadows, and Tina Fey.
01:49 It's the coolest thing ever. Amazing actors.
