00:00 Well, here's that storm that we've
00:02 been talking about here all week.
00:04 Here's that weekend storm that's going
00:05 to be bringing snow into the Northeast.
00:08 And while hey,
00:09 a drenching rain there across the southeast,
00:11 but hey,
00:11 it's done a number here over the past few
00:14 hours even dumping upwards about 5 inches.
00:17 There across areas in Kansas,
00:18 upwards of three there in areas across Missouri.
00:21 But as we continue to watch
00:22 this storm shift on East,
00:24 well, hey,
00:24 of course that snow is going to
00:26 spread further east right into the
00:28 Northeast and we're going to kind
00:30 of have a mixed bag there right
00:32 across the Appalachians.
00:33 And of course talking about some
00:35 rain there across the southeast.
00:36 Overall, though,
00:37 here's your snapshot slippery roads.
00:38 There Saturday and Saturday night.
00:40 Reduce visibility and of course we
00:42 can talk about those travel disruptions
00:44 to folks take it easy there on the road.
00:46 Snowless streaks in jeopardy this weekend.
00:48 I know it's been awhile since we've
00:50 seen some big snow there across the
00:52 I-95 corridor. It's been almost two
00:54 years in areas like New York,
00:56 Philadelphia,
00:56 but hey,
00:57 we could break that streak this weekend.
00:59 One to three forecasted in the Big Apple,
01:01 Philadelphia coding to an inch.
01:02 Now Washington DC,
01:03 Baltimore,
01:03 you're really not going to get a lot of snow.
01:06 Most of your actions going to
01:08 be in the form of rain,
01:09 but hey,
01:10 Boston getting a nice thump with
01:11 48 inches. I kind of want to show
01:13 you how this is going to play out
01:15 here as we take this throughout the
01:17 morning or watching that start off
01:18 as rain there across most of Pennsylvania.
01:20 But that's no starting to sneak in
01:22 there right across eastern West Virginia,
01:23 up through the Appalachians
01:24 and southern Pennsylvania.
01:25 Now we're going to start to see that
01:27 change over here as we head into the
01:29 afternoon that snow is going to
01:31 spread here across Pennsylvania.
01:32 And yeah,
01:32 even Philadelphia could see straight
01:34 snow for some points here during the
01:35 afternoon, but hey, you're going to
01:37 change over to rain as we do head into
01:39 the later afternoon early evening.
01:41 But let's take this around 4:00 PM.
01:43 Eastern time we are still tracking
01:44 that snow through Pennsylvania right
01:46 there along the New York Pennsylvania
01:47 border up through Southern New York.
01:49 That's no story in the Catskills,
01:51 but hey,
01:51 it's a drencher there across the Delmarva.
01:53 And as we head towards the evening, well,
01:55 hey,
01:56 where you're starting off as snow
01:57 there in areas like New York.
01:59 Well, hey,
01:59 you're going to start to change
02:01 over to some rain,
02:02 so that accumulation we were talking
02:03 about mostly going to happen during
02:05 the start of your event before.
02:06 Of course you are changing over to
02:08 more rain and it's going to be heavy
02:10 rain at that even as we head into
02:12 Saturday night as that snow continues
02:14 to spread further north.
02:15 How much snow are we talking about?
02:17 Well, hey,
02:17 we do have a few isolated areas
02:19 like the Catskills parts of Massachusetts.
02:21 We could see upwards of 12 to 18
02:23 inches of snow with the local storm
02:25 max as high as 20 inches of snow.
02:27 So hey,
02:28 we're talking about some
02:29 impressive numbers here,
02:30 but even across the general region
02:31 across Southern and northern New England,
02:33 we're talking about 6 to 12 inches.
02:35 New York.
02:35 You're right on that line about 1 to 3.
02:38 Again,
02:38 we're not talking about big big snow
02:40 in the Big Apple,
02:41 but a little bit more.
02:43 Meanwhile in Boston,
02:43 4 to 8 inches snowfall expected
02:45 around 10 PM Eastern Time Saturday
02:47 through 1 AM Eastern Time on Monday.
02:49 As for Scranton,
02:50 you're getting a little bit more.
02:51 10 to 10 inches there.
02:53 Meanwhile,
02:53 we are talking about a big icing
02:55 concern there that stretches right
02:57 through the Appalachians power outages.
02:59 Untreated roads and sidewalks are
03:00 going to be slick and we can expect
03:02 travel delays and this is of course
03:04 from late Friday and this is going to
03:06 be all the way throughout the day
03:08 today on Saturday.
