01:03 international air links, the Ministry of Defense declared in a statement condemning

01:09 China's contempt for air security.

01:12 The ministry also published an illustration on Saturday showing two Chinese balloons

01:17 that, according to it, had crossed the median line the day before, one of which was directly

01:23 "The main objective of the recent detection of balloons is a harassment of type "gray

01:29 zone" in order to use cognitive warfare to affect the morale of our people," the statement

01:34 added.

01:35 The tactics of the "gray zone" refer to aggressive actions deployed by a state that

01:41 abstains from an open war.

01:43 Many experts believe that this is what China is doing to Taiwan with its demonstration

01:47 of almost daily military force around the island.

01:50 "We call for the immediate end of this practice to guarantee the security of flights in the

01:55 region," the ministry wrote.

01:57 This statement came a week before the presidential election in Taiwan, which determines the future

02:03 of relations between the island and Beijing in the election.

02:07 Since the election of Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in 2016, China has broken all

02:14 high-level communication with its government because it does not recognize Beijing's sovereignty
