00:19 Happy New Year. You know, this is a brand new year, 2024.
00:22 We're checking out a great 2024 Mazda, the CX-50 right here,
00:26 that I'm going to predict on the second day of the year,
00:31 this is going to be in the running for car of the year.
00:33 I can already tell it for sure.
00:35 But let's go ahead and take a look up front here, David.
00:37 Okay.
00:38 The first thing that we're going to see up here, Grady,
00:40 great little grill right here for sure.
00:42 Nice looking grill.
00:44 Right down below it here, you've got the adaptive cruise control,
00:46 so you've got your sonar down here.
00:48 That's important as far as safety features and comfort features.
00:52 You don't always have to be glued to the road all the time
00:55 and get white line fever.
00:57 Also, if you look in here, you see great LED lights,
01:00 adaptive lights here too.
01:02 And what that means is when you turn into your driveway at night,
01:04 it's maybe a little bit dark, can't quite see around that bush,
01:08 these lights move with the steering wheel,
01:10 kind of help you out as far as that goes.
01:12 I know it's a big deal for me at 67 years old,
01:14 kind of hard to see at night sometimes.
01:16 These 20-inch alloy wheels right here,
01:18 driven by a 2.5-liter turbocharged motor here,
01:22 making 277 horse and 310 foot-pounds of torque,
01:26 which is a lot for a little car.
01:28 But that's also the reason that you can tow a 3,500-pound trailer behind it too.
01:33 Absolutely, and if you put premium gas in it,
01:35 it's going to do better on horsepower and torque.
01:38 Oh, wow, okay, hey, I'm all about that for sure.
01:40 Maybe throw some nitro in there too.
01:42 We can do that.
01:44 Now, it is all-wheel drive.
01:45 We talked about that.
01:47 Right on the side here, we've got foldable mirrors.
01:50 Now, this is big because all the garages nowadays
01:52 aren't quite as big as they need to be.
01:54 So when you go ahead and park this at night,
01:56 the mirrors fold in if you wanted to.
01:58 It's a big deal for me in my car anyway, next to my car.
02:02 And then also we talk about comfort and the luxury of Mazda,
02:05 terracotta leather interior, man.
02:07 Terracotta.
02:08 And what Mazda did when they brought in the Takumi Masters,
02:11 they didn't miss a note telling you and showing you
02:14 and making you feel that this is a beautiful, elegant vehicle,
02:18 but it's still rugged.
02:20 Yes, yes, very rugged.
02:21 Now, if you go ahead and you look in here,
02:24 one of the things that I really like is the wireless Apple CarPlay
02:29 and the wireless charger.
02:31 Yes, sir.
02:32 And where they position the charger is amazing,
02:34 so it's right next to you.
02:36 You know, that's one of the things I was going to mention on that
02:38 because normally a lot of the other manufacturers are throwing
02:41 the wireless charger up in front.
02:43 You almost can't reach it or you can't see if it's charging.
02:46 Mazda put it right here in front of the center console
02:48 where I can get my hands on it, I can see what's going on,
02:51 I can pick it up if I need to.
02:53 But again, wireless Apple CarPlay, I don't need to pick it up,
02:56 I just need to rock.
02:58 And that's just how Mazda has designed this car for the driver.
03:01 You know, a guy sat in a chair and they designed this vehicle around him
03:05 for comfort, for durability, and just knowing that he would enjoy the ride.
03:10 That's right, that's right.
03:11 And speaking of enjoying the ride, it is Wally's weekend drive.
03:14 We took a trip last weekend in the midst of all the holiday traffic,
03:18 it was quite exciting.
03:20 Yeah.
03:21 But again, the safety features like the dynamic cruise control
03:24 kept me off the car in front of me's back bumper all the time.
03:27 Okay.
03:28 You know, so that was a little bit good there, I really like that.
03:30 Plenty of storage room in here.
03:32 In fact, when you take a look inside here, Grady,
03:34 we've got the seats down right now, the second row seats.
03:37 There is more than enough room for two people in the sleeping bag back here.
03:40 Most definitely, most definitely.
03:42 Now, if you're taking more than two people, the roof racks on top support what?
03:47 You know, we can put up a pumper tent on top with a ladder
03:51 so that you don't even have to sleep on the ground.
03:53 Over your panoramic roof, we put a mat.
03:57 Okay.
03:58 You can put up to 642 pounds on that roof.
04:00 Wow, that means I can be up there sleeping, that's good.
04:03 Now, one thing, we are going to take this off-road, we were talking about.
04:06 Get off-road, you cut a tire down, you're not going to be calling AAA.
04:09 Yeah.
04:10 You know, just the thought of that too, you've got a spare tire in here,
04:12 a real spare tire, and those are getting more and more rare also.
04:15 Absolutely.
04:16 Yeah.
04:17 Now, 2024 being what it is here, what are you thinking?

04:26 I see you've got a few of them in stock, so they're in stock now.
04:29 You know, good deals on it.
04:31 Mazda hasn't come out with any specials or anything yet for 2024,
04:35 but probably by the time this airs, there will be some.
04:37 Yeah, they'll be announcing them shortly, and everybody will be made aware of them.
