00:15 Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said last week that it was his working assumption that a

00:19 general election would be called in the second half of 2024.

00:24 Labour was already understood to be preparing for an even earlier election, having enjoyed

00:27 a lead in the polls for some time.

00:30 Mr Sunak will face Prime Minister's questions in the House of Commons on Wednesday, the

00:34 day after the conclusion of the longest walkout in NHS history by junior doctors.

00:39 Elsewhere, pupils will be watching for wildlife in their school grounds from today as the

00:43 RSPB's Big Schools Bird Watch gets underway.

00:47 Youngsters and their families will be encouraged to take note of what they see in the grounds

00:52 and send their results to the organisation so it can get a better understanding of how

00:57 species are faring across the UK.
