Masked Gunmen Kidnap 31 Migrants Traveling to US Asylum Hearings in Mexico

Thirty-one migrants were kidnapped at gunpoint by masked men in the city of Reynosa, Mexico on Saturday as they were traveling by bus from Monterrey to Matamoros, Mexico, to attend asylum hearings in the US. The gunmen stopped the bus, forced all 36 people aboard off, and abducted 31 of them, taking them away in 5 vehicles. Kidnappings of migrants have become common tactics used by cartels to demand ransom.
