A 49-year-old man from Fazakerley has been arrested after a major incident was declared following reports that shots were fired at a newsagents in Norris Green, the Showcase Cinema in Croxteth and at a property on Malpas Road on Wednesday night. No one has been injured.

Connor Mears has been jailed for 12 years for causing the death of a man in Liverpool city centre by dangerous driving in October last year. The 28-year-old was driving at excessive speed along The Strand and smashed into the back of a taxi. This impact pushed the taxi onto the footpath, striking a 44-year-old man who was on a bench.
