Friends of darts finalist tell of pride ahead of final

The friends of darts player Luke Littler have told of their pride ahead of the World Darts Championship final tonight. The 16-year-old, who has now earned £200,000, is the youngest person to reach the final, overtaking Kirk Shepherd who was 21 years and 88 days old in 2008. Littler's friend and fellow darts player said: "he knows how good he can play, everyone knows. This is just another level, he's done so well." Report by Kennedyl. 00:00 He was desperate to play and he was desperate to push himself up to that next level and I think he's doing that at the moment definitely.
00:06 I've seen the other day that he was talking about playing in the Premier League and I think he's itching to do that as well.
00:12 But I think for now he's just all about today, the semi-final and I can't wait to get down there and watch him do what he does.
00:18 I think he knows how good he can play. He knows himself, everyone knows it.
00:23 I think he's just got that attitude now of it is what it is, if he loses he's already made a very good stance for himself.
00:31 He's got his name out there. So I think it is just a case of now if he loses, obviously the other guys played much better.
00:38 You two have travelled the country playing in tournaments. Did you ever think he was going to get to this point?
00:44 I think everyone as well as me knew he had a special talent.
00:49 It wasn't just a quick game of darts, there was definitely something there.
00:54 I thought this is just another level but he's done so well.
00:59 He was beating players at the age of 10 who were counter-youth level.
01:04 The others were very good as well but he was just that different.
01:10 His ability was just that little bit better.
01:12 I'm about 95% sure if he brings his A game, Rob Cross is going to have to play his A game to compete with him again at darts at that level, semi-final.
01:21 Will he do it? We'll find out tonight but if he plays like he can, Rob's going to be a bit upset in the morning.
