00:00 Floods reported in parts of mid Wales with rising river levels causing concern.
00:04 As a yellow weather warning is in place for Powys, many people have taken to sharing their
00:08 experiences of driving on flooded roads. In Prestyne, floods have made driving hazardous.
00:14 Despite cars being able to pass, people are having to drive at a slower pace to get through
00:19 villages such as Kinnerton. A driver on the B4520 posted a warning on Facebook saying
00:24 "I've just driven from Biltwells to Brecon via the B4520 and it is getting seriously flooded.
00:31 I would advise anyone to avoid at all costs if you have a normal or small car."
00:35 Herefordshire roads leading into Prestyne have been closed such as the A4110 Irdyslem Road and
00:40 the C1032 Pembridge Road. The Llyswen Road to Irwydne at Llangoyd Hall is also flooded on one
00:46 side of the road with people raising concerns that nearby trees were recently cut down that
00:51 could have helped avoid flooding. Natural Resources Wales have issued a River Usk flood warning.
00:56 They said at 1pm the level at Brecon was 2.88 metres and rising. A peak level of between 3
01:03 and 3.1 metres is expected to occur this afternoon. The level at Crickhowell was 1.65 metres and
01:09 rising. A peak level of between 2.9 and 3.1 metres is expected to occur this evening.
01:16 The floodgate at Crickhowell has been closed. Others have raised concerns about floods of
01:20 Bronlees with videos showing water running down the road.
