00:14 And being here must be a turning point in their lives,

00:21 where they will be the fighters for gender equality

00:25 until it is achieved.

00:30 We are the ones who embrace the responsibility of change.

00:34 We are the ones who devote our lives to breaking barriers,

00:38 changing minds, reshaping systems, and structures that

00:42 exclude, that diminish, and that lessen.

00:46 It is what we, as women, men, feminists, every one of us,

00:52 in all our diversity, have promised to deliver.

01:03 Recent studies show that it could take more than a century

01:13 to achieve gender equality targets

01:18 at current rates of progress.

01:22 We must challenge ourselves to do things differently

01:33 and with a sense of urgency.

01:45 and the dangers of terrorism cannot be

01:48 contained by any borders.

01:53 And the benefits of investment in girls' education

01:57 also cannot be contained by any borders.
