00:45 that will have a complete office of 24 stories
00:51 and a 20 story hotel building with apartments
00:55 and two floors of retail opportunity
01:00 for Rwandese to interact with the international community.
01:04 We're hoping this building would attract investment banks,
01:11 technical specialists in the development space, legal firms,
01:16 experts in finance.
01:19 Under Mokta, I'm looking at you.
01:21 We hope IFC will open the African Legion office.
01:28 - Here we are witnessing the investment that is being made.
01:35 So I thank Equity Holding Venture Capital
01:47 for choosing our country for this project.
01:51 This business center will advance Rwanda's ambition
02:01 of becoming a trusted hub for financial services.
02:09 For the past two years, the pandemic
02:13 has slowed down economic growth and deepened inequalities.
02:20 But that is not going to be a permanent state for us
02:28 or for the region or for the continent.
02:32 I think things will again start going upward.
02:39 Regional financial hubs are critical
02:43 to attracting new investment and getting us back on track.
02:49 Our country's stability and business-friendly environment
02:55 are an added advantage.
02:58 And we have in our country and together
03:02 with the members of our region,
03:06 we try to keep working at it to make sure that the stability
03:16 is something we can look up to for many years ahead of us.
03:25 But this project is also about the future of our people
03:31 and our most valuable asset, that is our people.
03:42 Over the years, we have created meaningful partnerships
03:48 which have contributed to our development.
03:55 Therefore, have no doubt that it will be the same
03:59 for Kigali Financial Square.
04:05 You have our full support and count on us
04:12 as a reliable partner.
04:13 I mean all those who are investing in our country
04:20 with us or in us.
04:24 So I want to thank all the partners.
04:29 Manji, Maktar, Desi Knife, I don't know whether he's around,
04:36 but he's been a very strong partner
04:38 in these different areas.
04:43 We have partners in countries, different countries,
04:51 whether it is UK, the European Union countries,
04:59 United States.
05:02 We always tell our partners that they --
05:11 or we try to convince them that we are reliable partners.
05:18 You have us as a partner.
05:21 You have a partner you can rely on,
05:23 and we will do our best and make sure you feel every dollar
05:31 you invested with us is going to have its full worth of return.
05:43 [applause]
05:49 So about the towers they have designed to build,
06:03 I had an opportunity to make an input in that.
06:11 [applause]
06:15 If you see any bad building coming up in the city,
06:20 you just know I didn't have a hand in it.
06:26 So I'm expecting that this one will come out very well.
06:35 So Manji, thank you very much again,
06:39 and everyone who worked with you,
06:41 who works with you to make this happen.
06:47 IFC, thank you very much for your continued presence
06:55 in this partnership.
06:59 We wish to have for things to be able to move forward.
07:08 And so as they say, in a case,
07:11 [speaking in foreign language]
07:15 [applause]
07:19 [music]
