00:00 The "Stop the Steal" movement was more than just election interference lies spouted by Donald Trump,
00:04 which culminated in an attack on our nation's capital by his idolaters.
00:08 Evidence now suggests that the former president and his team sought to overturn a legitimate US election,
00:14 using fake elector certificates set to be signed in states where Trump lost.
00:19 According to a new report by CNN, former Trump ally and lawyer Kenneth Chesebro,
00:23 who was indicted in Georgia alongside Trump but has since taken a plea deal,
00:27 is now talking about the plot to overturn the election.
00:30 They had a plan to have fake electors cast their ballots despite Trump losing in Michigan and Wisconsin.
00:36 The plot was based loosely on what happened in Hawaii during the 1960 election between Kennedy and Nixon.
00:42 Nixon won the initial state election by a mere 140 votes, triggering a recount.
00:47 But Kennedy's elector nominees voted as well, just in case the recount ended in a Kennedy win, which it did.
00:53 The new report outlines that when Trump and his team attempted to do the same,
00:56 albeit in a situation that didn't warrant those same actions,
00:59 they weren't sure if they could get those fake elector certificates to DC.
01:03 And into the hands of Vice President Mike Pence ahead of the Congressional Election Certification on January 6th,
01:09 Chesebro said the team were freaked out and considered chartering a private jet.
01:13 The fake elector certificates were ultimately brought by a Wisconsin Republican official
01:18 and a Trump staffer, where the January 6th committee says GOP Representative Mike Kelly helped deliver them in the end.
