00:16 - Gypsy Rose Blanchard is spotted for the first time
00:19 since her release from prison.
00:21 So what's next for her?
00:23 A potential team up with Kim Kardashian.
00:26 - What's going on?
00:27 - On Thursday, the 32 year old was released from prison
00:31 eight years after she pleaded guilty
00:33 to the second degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

00:51 You got donations.
00:52 You got different things from people for being sick.
00:56 So that was a source of income for her, right?
00:58 - It was, yes.
00:59 And I had no idea that I was a part of that.
01:02 - That's Gypsy out and about in Missouri on Thursday
01:06 with her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson.
01:09 Dee Dee's 2015 murder came after she inflicted years
01:13 of abuse on Gypsy due to Munchausen by proxy,
01:16 a rare disorder in which a guardian exaggerates
01:19 or induces illness in a child for attention and sympathy.
01:24 Something Gypsy herself talked about
01:26 in the HBO docuseries, "Mommy Dead and Dearest"
01:29 and in a 2019 interview with Dr. Phil.
01:32 - Why did she tell you you were going in the wheelchair?
01:35 - I did get into a motorcycle accident with my grandfather
01:39 and it skinned my knee and she took me to the hospital
01:42 and then told me that the doctor gave her a wheelchair
01:47 and I have to be in a wheelchair now.
01:49 - Forever?
01:51 - Forever.
01:52 - Dee Dee had convinced everyone in their lives
01:54 that Gypsy was a terminally ill teenager
01:56 with the mind of a seven year old
01:58 who suffered from muscular dystrophy,
02:00 leukemia and other ailments.
02:03 - Why did she tell you you had to be on a walker?
02:05 - She said that I had muscular dystrophy.
02:08 - But did you feel any different the day before
02:11 you got the walker than the day you did have the walker?
02:14 - No, sir.
02:15 - You were able to run around?
02:16 - Pretty much, yes.
02:17 - Days before her release, Gypsy told people
02:20 that she regretted conspiring with her then boyfriend,
02:23 Nick Goodjohn to kill her mom.
02:25 Quote, "Nobody will ever hear me say
02:27 "that I'm glad she's dead or I'm proud of what I did.
02:30 "I regret it every single day.
02:33 "She didn't deserve that.
02:34 "She was a sick woman and unfortunately
02:36 "I wasn't educated enough to see that.
02:38 "She deserved to be where I am,
02:40 "sitting in prison, doing time for criminal behavior."
02:44 Nick, who killed Dee Dee in her home
02:46 while Gypsy waited in the bathroom,
02:48 received a life sentence for the crime.
02:51 Now that she's out of prison,
02:52 Gypsy plans to tell her story
02:54 in an upcoming Lifetime docuseries,
02:56 The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,
02:59 which will premiere January 5th.

03:03 - My mother claimed that I was sick.
03:06 - Gypsy Blanchard is the only victim
03:08 of Munchausen syndrome by proxy,
03:10 has killed their mother.
03:12 - After Kim Kardashian included
03:13 Gypsy's 2017 documentary, Mommy Dead and Dearest,
03:17 in a list of true crime shows to watch next,
03:20 Gypsy thanked Kim, who is pursuing her law degree,
03:23 for the shout out, adding, quote,
03:25 "Maybe we should unite forces together
03:27 "to make real change within the justice system."
03:30 - I think this new world of social media
03:32 and everything that can just project out
03:34 to so many people has been really exciting
03:36 and a new journey to figure out.
03:39 - Now, Gypsy will also reunite
03:41 with her husband, Ryan Anderson,
03:43 whom she wed in a 2022 prison ceremony,
03:46 as well as her dad and stepmom.
03:49 - Once you know, I don't blame you for any of it,
03:52 either of you.
03:53 And-- - Thank you.
03:55 - I take blame on myself and I blame other people,
03:58 but I never once blame y'all.
04:00 - Telling people, "I'm on the eve of happiness.
04:03 "It's a journey.
04:04 "I'm still really trying to come
04:06 "to a place of forgiveness for her,
04:08 "for myself, and for the situation."
