00:00 "Look, Mona, I am begging you. If you know anything about what's happening to us,
00:04 can you just tell me, please?"
00:06 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the loose ends and mysteries
00:11 left behind in the teen drama's seven season run. We won't be including any unanswered questions
00:17 from 'Ravenswood,' 'Pretty Little Liars,' 'The Perfectionists,' or 'Pretty Little Liars Original Sin.'
00:24 Since these entries mention major plot points throughout the series,
00:27 a spoiler warning is now in effect.
00:30 "Why would you do this for her?"
00:31 "Enough questions."
00:32 Number 10. Emily and Allison's twins.
00:37 A/AD is known for subjecting their victims to over-the-top methods of torment,
00:42 but we'd say stealing Emily's eggs and implanting them in an unwitting Allison
00:47 is definitely up there with the most violating acts.
00:50 "Congratulations. You're a mother. The blood test. It's you and me."
00:57 In the 'Pretty Little Liars' series finale, we see the couple living happily with their
01:01 twin daughters, Lily and Grace. Later in the episode, Alex Drake, posing as Spencer,
01:07 reveals that Wren Kingston fathered the babies.
01:10 "You have your daddy's eyes."
01:12 "Yeah, I knew Wren would make pretty babies."
01:16 However, there's no indication that Emerson or anyone are aware of this revelation.
01:22 Surely they've wondered who it was, since it was confirmed that it wasn't Archer Dunhill.
01:27 Is Alex the only living person who knows the identity of the father?
01:31 "She can't keep us here forever."
01:33 "Of course she can. She's Mona."
01:36 Guess we'll never find out.
01:39 Number 9. Mrs. Potter's death.
01:41 "I'm trying to refinance, but the house isn't worth as much as it was when I bought out my ex.
01:47 I just need another extension."
01:51 "I'm sorry, but your request is denied."
01:53 In this overlooked plot point in season 1,
01:56 Hannah Maren's mom Ashley finds herself strapped for cash.
02:00 She steals thousands of dollars from Esther Potter,
02:03 a bank customer who has a yearly deposit schedule.
02:06 The money may have helped their finances, but it's a huge source of stress,
02:10 especially when Mrs. Potter makes another appointment.
02:13 However, Ashley and Hannah are saved due to her sudden passing.
02:18 "They couldn't revive her. Poor thing. I mean, she wasn't young, but still."
02:22 While a heart attack is cited as the cause of death,
02:26 two episodes later we see A putting flowers on Mrs. Potter's grave,
02:30 suggesting they had something to do with it.
02:33 At the time, Hannah's best friend Mona was A.
02:36 But did her love for Hannah and Ashley really drive her to murder?
02:40 Unsurprisingly, it's never brought up again.
02:42 "So she spoke to you about keeping money in here?"
02:44 "No, we never talked about it."
02:46 Number 8. The Ghost Girl.
02:48 "She was so cold. I can still feel how cold she was."
02:54 Before we knew about Jessica De Laurentiis' twin sister Mary,
02:58 or Spencer's twin sister Alex,
03:00 the idea of twins was already a major motif throughout Pretty Little Liars.
03:05 In the series' first Halloween episode in season 2,
03:08 Allison tells a story about twin sisters fighting over dolls,
03:11 resulting in one murdering the other.
03:14 Season 3's Halloween episode sees one of the twins appearing to Ashley,
03:18 asking to use the phone.
03:20 "My mother said if I ever get scared or lost or tired, I should call her."
03:25 "Of course you can call."
03:27 They have a literally chilling exchange,
03:30 and Ashley realizes the girl's skin is abnormally cold.
03:33 The girl disappears, leaving Ashley confused and a little spooked,
03:38 especially since she's the only one who saw her.
03:41 We know PLL liked to toy with the paranormal on occasion,
03:45 but seriously, what was this ghost girl all about?
03:48 "Scary things can sometimes just be fun."
03:50 "I don't think so."
03:52 "Not anymore."
03:54 Number 7. Detective Wilden's age.
03:57 "You know Darren Wilden, right? He was a couple years ahead of you in school.
04:00 He might be the hottie that Allison was talking about in that notebook."
04:03 Rosewood's Detective Darren Wilden was the head of the
04:06 Allison De Laurentiis' disappearance-turned-murder investigation.
04:10 But we eventually find out that he already knew she was accidentally killed by Charlotte,
04:15 aka Cece Drake, because Jessica paid him to lie.
04:19 "I was never in Rosewood tonight, ma'am. And neither was your daughter."
04:25 This makes his intense interrogations with the girls unnecessary and downright obsessive.
04:36 Wilden's reputation as a dirty cop goes back years,
04:39 to the death of Radley patient Marion Cavanaugh,
04:42 which he also covered up at the behest of Jessica to protect a 12-year-old Charlotte.
04:48 But with him being around Melissa Hastings' age,
04:50 only a few years older than Charlotte/Cece, that would make him at least a teenager.
04:56 Needless to say, he wouldn't have been a police officer yet.
05:00 So how does this timeline work?
05:02 "Like Spencer said, we've told you everything we know."
05:05 Number 6. Cece's Visitor's Pass at Radley.
05:09 PLL fans can all agree that Charlotte De Laurentiis' storyline was littered with plot holes.
05:14 But one question that frequently pops up is why Dr. Wren Kingston authorized a visitor's pass
05:20 for Charlotte's alias, Cece Drake, to see Radley patient Mona VanderWaal.
05:26 "Tell me more about the girls. I need to know everything."
05:30 Charlotte was also a patient, and she'd already been talking to Mona because she took over the A-game.
05:38 Very little about her Radley stay makes sense,
05:41 especially when you remember the time she tricked Jessica into thinking Allison was there.
05:46 "She's dressed head to toe in your clothing, but it's not my daughter sitting in Radley.
05:50 It's Cece Drake."
05:51 "I can't believe that crazy bitch actually did it."
05:56 We know Charlotte had in-and-out privileges at different times,
06:00 but how was she able to have roommates at U Penn or go on a vacation to Cape May?
06:05 Make it make sense.
06:06 "I don't have time to talk about this."
06:09 "You're not the only one that's scared, okay?"
06:11 Number 5. Noel Kahn's motives.
06:14 Noel Kahn was introduced as the bad boy of Rosewood High.
06:17 He briefly dated Aria before entering his villain era,
06:21 getting together with Mona, and eventually cozying up to Jenna Marshall.
06:25 Noel returns during season four, helping Allison stay hidden, and stays throughout season five.
06:31 "You're not the only one who needs insurance, Noel. We need it too, okay?
06:35 And I promise you, I will keep it in a much safer place than this. Okay? Now go."
06:43 We don't see him again until season seven, when he's inexplicably on the A-team,
06:48 and revealed to have tortured the girls in the dollhouse and Hannah at the farm.
06:52 Noel's final appearance sees him try to kill the liars with Jenna,
06:56 after he'd previously killed Sarah Harvey.
06:58 "Taught Jenna a lot.
07:02 One thing she taught Charlotte and me,
07:04 I always had a smell for hair."
07:08 How and why did this guy with a grudge become a double agent and sadistic murderer?
07:14 Hating Allison for blackmailing him about a frat party incident? Sure.
07:18 But what about everyone else?
07:19 "Bitches never understood me. I always get what I want."
07:25 Number 4. Sarah's connection to Charlotte.
07:28 Speaking of characters with baffling motives, let's talk about Sarah Harvey.
07:33 "I have like a thousand questions."
07:34 We know that she disappeared the same weekend Allie went missing,
07:40 allegedly kidnapped by Charlotte and made to impersonate Allison in the dollhouse.
07:45 Later, she had Sarah dress up as the Black Widow at Wilden's funeral,
07:50 and as Red Coat outside the Thornhill Lodge.
07:53 "Sarah Harvey was the other Red Coat?"
07:55 "When I needed her to be."
07:58 "What?"
07:58 But if Charlotte didn't take over the game until after Mona was sent to Radley,
08:02 why would she have taken Sarah years before?
08:06 Assuming she was actually kidnapped,
08:07 it's never explained why Sarah continues to work for the A-Team after being rescued.
08:12 Could it have really been Stockholm Syndrome after years in A's dollhouse?
08:17 Or was Sarah just a runaway who met Charlotte and went along with her elaborate plan?
08:22 "I felt like we were sisters. She used you to replace me.
08:26 When no one else was there for her, I was."
08:30 Number 3. Bethany wearing Allison's bracelet.
08:33 On the night Allison De Laurentiis went missing,
08:36 Radley patient Bethany Young left the hospital wearing her frenemy Charlotte's clothes.
08:40 "Bethany had blonde hair and she was dressed just like Allison."
08:44 Jessica would buy Allison and Charlotte the same outfits,
08:47 meaning Bethany and Allie wore identical yellow tops on that night.
08:51 Allison was struck in the back of the head and buried alive.
08:54 Later, Bethany met the same fate, only she didn't survive.
08:58 When her body is eventually unearthed, she's wearing Allison's purple bracelet.
09:03 "If that's Allison's bracelet, what about the one we found in the woods?"
09:06 "I don't know. Someone made a copy of Allison's bracelet.
09:13 We haven't made sure that we would find it."
09:15 Since Allie bought the name bracelets for her friends,
09:18 Jessica wouldn't have gifted one to Charlotte.
09:20 How Charlotte had a duplicate bracelet is never explored.
09:24 This is just one of the many questions surrounding Bethany.
09:27 "Bethany, what did you do?"
09:28 "What did I do?"
09:29 Number 2. Mona's Radley Riddle.
09:33 In season 3, Hannah and Aria sneak into Radley to visit Mona,
09:37 but she's not much help because she's speaking in riddles.
09:40 "What is she doing?"
09:41 "Miss Aria, you're a killer, not Ezra's wife.
09:47 Miss Aria, you're a killer, not Ezra's wife."
09:51 "Cut it out, Mona."
09:52 Her first cryptic message is unsettling, but contains a code,
09:57 with the first letter of each word spelling out "Maya knew."
10:01 Mona's next lyrical puzzle gave them the address to Maya's blog,
10:05 which didn't lead to any big revelations.
10:07 "Did Mona mean she's not safe, or we're not?"
10:10 What did Maya know?
10:12 Did she find out the identity of A, or that Allison was still alive?
10:16 Or was it that her stalker Lyndon James was going to kill her?
10:19 Because the latter brings up more questions.
10:22 Why would Mona care about Maya's killer?
10:24 Why would she need to speak in code to fool A?
10:26 It's a mystery.
10:28 "I don't suppose crazy slipped you the password as well?"
10:30 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:35 A.D.'s message for Jenna.
10:36 That binder was filled with pages of braille,
10:39 and we know it said more than the show gave us.
10:41 "Endgame."
10:46 Rosewood's prom queen, Cece Drake.
10:51 How did she get that crown?
10:52 She doesn't even go there.
10:54 "No.
10:55 But I bet I'll be the prettiest girl in the yearbook."
10:58 Ren coloring a sketch.
11:00 Did he know the identity of Redcoat?
11:03 "Well, it just goes to show, you can't trust anyone."
11:06 A.D.'s vendetta against Hannah.
11:10 Everyone received their fair share of torment,
11:12 but Hannah was kidnapped and tortured.
11:14 "I think I'm gonna die in here."
11:16 "No, I won't let that happen."
11:18 Wine Mom's in the basement.
11:21 How they got out may have been answered,
11:23 but who locked them in the De Laurentiis' basement?
11:25 "Open the door! Hey!
11:28 Open the door!"

11:50 Number 1. Aria's connection to Radley and Eddie Lamb
11:54 When Aria volunteers at Radley hoping to find more information on Bethany Young,
11:58 it leads to a curious exchange with an orderly named Eddie Lamb.
12:02 "Did you volunteer for the reading program last year?"
12:04 "Nope. No, this is my first time here."
12:08 "I feel like we've met before."
12:12 "I don't think so."
12:18 The "Aria is A/AD" theorists saw this odd interaction as evidence that she was another
12:25 child of Mary Drake, had a secret twin, or had suppressed memories of being a Radley patient
12:31 with a dissociative identity disorder. Then again, maybe Eddie just recognized her from visiting
12:36 Spencer or Mona while they were patients. But that's the last we see of Eddie since he missed
12:41 a meetup with Ezra later that night.
12:43 "I waited for over an hour, and he never showed up."
12:47 Interestingly, a retconned version of the original character played by an older actor
12:52 makes an appearance in 2022's inaugural season of Pretty Little Liars' original sin.
12:57 "They offered me a job to help with the transition. I had a mortgage. Needed the money."
