It is set in a fictional galaxy ruled by the Motherworld, whose military, the Imperium, threatens a farming colony on the moon of Veldt. 00:00:36 - On the mother world,
00:00:45 1,000 kings ruled unchallenged in succession.
00:00:50 But in the royal bloodlines lust for power,
00:00:54 they consumed everything upon their planet.
00:01:01 The realm marched its armies into the vastness of space,
00:01:05 conquering everything in its path.
00:01:07 The glory of the mother world seemed without end
00:01:12 until the treachery of an assassin's blade
00:01:16 struck down the king and queen,
00:01:18 severing the royal bloodline forever.
00:01:21 In the chaotic aftermath of the king's death,
00:01:26 several conquered planets
00:01:28 on the edge of the mother world's reach
00:01:30 began to whisper of revolution.
00:01:33 A senator named Belisarius used the opportunity
00:01:39 to seize power, declaring himself regent.
00:01:42 As a show of strength, he sent his most brutal commander
00:01:48 into the outer reaches of the mother world's dominion
00:01:51 to find and crush without mercy
00:01:56 those who would call themselves
00:02:01 rebel.

00:03:44 - Cora.
00:03:51 Cora!
00:03:53 I thought you were finished.
00:04:00 Everyone's up in the longhouse.
00:04:02 - These are my last rows and I'll be done.
00:04:05 - All right.
00:04:06 Okay.
00:04:07 Oh, Den was asking where you were.
00:04:11 He and his brother got the big snow elk.
00:04:14 Male.
00:04:15 He wanted you to see it before he dressed it.
00:04:17 - Why was he asking for me?
00:04:18 - Well, you know, because he's...
00:04:20 I just thought...
00:04:23 I just thought...
00:04:25 - You thought?
00:04:26 Move up!
00:04:31 (dramatic music)
00:04:37 (dramatic music)
00:04:39 - It's been a while since we've had fresh meat.
00:04:52 Forgot how good it is.
00:04:53 - Well, Dan said they saw the summer herds returning.
00:04:56 Maybe three days right away.
00:04:57 He was asking for you.
00:05:02 - I heard.
00:05:05 And yes, it's quite impressive.
00:05:07 - Which one?
00:05:08 The animal?
00:05:09 Or...
00:05:12 (howls)
00:05:16 Or the hunter?
00:05:20 (laughs)
00:05:26 - My people!
00:05:34 It is my duty as the head of this community
00:05:37 to remind you that the gods of the harvest
00:05:39 demand a tribute.
00:05:41 An offering.
00:05:44 But we all know it is the thrusting of hips
00:05:49 and the loud sounds of pleasure
00:05:52 that summon the seedlings to sprout.
00:05:55 So make love tonight.
00:05:59 For the harvest.
00:06:01 For the very food we eat.
00:06:03 - Yeah!
00:06:04 - For the gods!
00:06:06 - Yeah!
00:06:07 - Yeah!
00:06:10 - Let's have some music.
00:06:14 Some music to get us in the mood.
00:06:16 (upbeat music)
00:06:18 (crowd cheering)
00:06:21 - Dan is a good man.
00:06:48 - He's a good man.
00:06:49 - He's a good man.
00:06:51 - He's a good man.
00:06:52 - He's a good man.
00:06:54 - I'm not sure if he's a good man.
00:06:57 - He's a good man.
00:06:58 - He's a good man.
00:07:00 - He's a good man.
00:07:01 - He's a good man.
00:07:03 - He's a good man.
00:07:05 - He's a good man.
00:07:06 - He's a good man.
00:07:08 - He's a good man.
00:07:09 - He's a good man.
00:07:11 - He's a good man.
00:07:12 - He's a good man.
00:07:14 - He's a good man.
00:07:16 - You're a good man.
00:07:18 - I'm not a good man.
00:07:20 - You're a good man.
00:07:22 - I'm a good man.
00:07:23 - You're a good man.
00:07:25 - I'm a good man.
00:07:26 - You're a good man.
00:07:28 - I'm a good man.
00:07:29 - You're a good man.
00:07:31 - I'm a good man.
00:07:32 - You're a good man.
00:07:34 - I'm a good man.
00:07:35 - I'm a good man.
00:07:37 - You're a good man.
00:07:39 - I'm a good man.
00:07:40 - You're a good man.
00:07:42 - I'm a good man.
00:07:43 - You're a good man.
00:07:45 - The two seasons I've spent here have given me happiness
00:07:50 that I don't deserve.
00:07:51 I don't understand, I am a child of war.
00:07:57 To truly love and be loved,
00:08:01 I don't know if I'm capable of either.
00:08:07 The very idea of love, of family,
00:08:14 was beaten out of me.
00:08:16 I was taught that love is weakness.
00:08:22 And I,
00:08:25 I don't know how that will ever change.
00:08:31 You should get some rest.
00:08:40 - Yeah.
00:08:45 (gentle music)
00:08:47 - I noticed you left early last night.
00:08:58 Were you tired?
00:09:00 - That's right, I thought I'd make it an early night.
00:09:02 - I thought you were doing your part for the harvest,
00:09:05 because as I walked home I passed Den's house,
00:09:07 and that's surely what it sounded like.
00:09:10 - Sam, I don't know what you're talking about.
00:09:12 (laughing)
00:09:14 - I think you do.
00:09:15 (dramatic music)
00:09:19 (dramatic music)
00:09:22 (dramatic music)
00:09:24 (dramatic music)
00:09:40 (dramatic music)
00:09:43 (dramatic music)
00:09:54 (dramatic music)
00:10:09 (dramatic music)
00:10:12 - What do you think they want?
00:10:16 - Everything.
00:10:18 - I don't care what the potential upside might be.
00:10:23 A warship hanging over our lands cannot be good.
00:10:26 - That's your problem.
00:10:27 Your first reaction is always fear.
00:10:29 The Motherworld has deep pockets.
00:10:31 I'm simply saying maybe we can get a better price
00:10:34 from our friends in low orbit there,
00:10:35 rather than having to deal with the cutthroats
00:10:37 in Providence selling our grain to God only knows.
00:10:42 - Don't act like we don't know you've been selling
00:10:44 our surplus grain to the enemies of that ship up there.
00:10:47 I wonder what they would say if they found out
00:10:49 where our excess went last year.
00:10:51 - Well, I'm no revolutionary.
00:10:55 They offered the best price, I don't care about their cost.
00:10:58 - Obviously.
00:10:59 - Sindri, I don't have a side, only this community.
00:11:03 That's my only loyalty.
00:11:06 And I say we start by showing them goodwill, not fear.
00:11:10 That we are their partners, not their adversaries, right?
00:11:14 - Did you say partner, Gunnar?
00:11:18 - I did, is that a problem?
00:11:20 - That ship does not represent prosperity.
00:11:22 Its purpose is to destroy, to subjugate, to enslave.
00:11:27 Partnership is not in its vocabulary.
00:11:30 Give them what they ask for,
00:11:31 but volunteer nothing about how fertile this land is.
00:11:35 - I hope they leave before digging too deep
00:11:37 into who Gunnar sold last year's grain to.
00:11:39 - Right. - I've heard enough.
00:11:41 We will volunteer nothing.
00:11:43 Is that clear?
00:11:44 - They're coming, they're coming!
00:11:48 They're coming!

00:12:59 - Hello, I am Sindri, father of this village.
00:13:20 Welcome.
00:13:21 - I'm Admiral Atticus Noble,
00:13:23 Lord and representative of the slain king.
00:13:26 I welcome you to his warm embrace.
00:13:28 Please, father, tell me about this beautiful village.
00:13:49 - Walk with me up to our longhouse.
00:13:52 We can have a cup of ale
00:13:53 and I will tell you about life here.
00:13:56 - Oh, sounds perfect.
00:13:58 Lead the way.
00:13:59 - We've carved out a simple life here
00:14:17 and we take pride in the love of our community
00:14:20 and the hard work it takes to survive here.
00:14:23 - Well, your people seem healthy and well-fed.
00:14:26 As their leader, much of that prosperity
00:14:27 must be credited to you.
00:14:29 - No, we are a community.
00:14:30 The credit is no one person's.
00:14:31 - Oh, I know that in the best of times,
00:14:33 the credit's shared, but when the stores are empty,
00:14:36 you know where the responsibility falls.
00:14:38 - The weight of the leader, I suppose.
00:14:41 - So you, you understand the feeling of like a father,
00:14:47 the need to feed your children, yeah?
00:14:49 I was hoping that your land
00:14:53 and the people of Veldt might be able to help
00:14:54 as we search for a small band of revolutionaries
00:14:56 hiding in this very system.
00:14:58 Through my command at the Regent Balisarius,
00:15:01 bid me find and bring to justice.
00:15:04 - We are humble farmers,
00:15:05 far removed from the politics of the mother world.
00:15:09 - And still you can serve.
00:15:10 The rebels we seek have been attacking our supply ports,
00:15:15 led by a woman named Devra Bloodaxe
00:15:18 and her brother, Darion.
00:15:19 Their capture's inevitable.
00:15:22 However, it's taken longer than anticipated
00:15:25 and we found ourselves admittedly low on stores.
00:15:28 And as you know, or may have heard,
00:15:30 an army runs on its stomach.
00:15:32 I was thinking of a partnership
00:15:35 where you supply us with food,
00:15:38 whatever you have to spare, of course.
00:15:40 In exchange, you're compensated at,
00:15:42 let's call it triple the market value, shall we?
00:15:46 With that windfall,
00:15:47 we'll be able to buy plenty of harvesters,
00:15:50 robots, and won't have to do this difficult work by hand.
00:15:52 - We believe that doing the work by hand
00:15:57 connects us to the land
00:15:59 and honors these sacred fields that give us life.
00:16:02 - Well, there's always the peace of mind
00:16:03 knowing that you're playing an invaluable role
00:16:05 in the important mission of rooting out enemies
00:16:07 of the mother world.
00:16:09 (birds chirping)
00:16:12 - It's quite a proposal.
00:16:23 - Yes.
00:16:24 - If only we had some surplus to offer.
00:16:26 You see, the land is rocky
00:16:28 and yields barely enough to feed ourselves.
00:16:32 So it is with sincere apologies
00:16:33 that we must decline the offer.
00:16:35 However, we are grateful for the presence
00:16:37 of such a benevolent and powerful protector.
00:16:40 - No surplus.
00:16:46 None at all?
00:16:48 Your land looks so fertile.
00:16:53 Your fields seem larger
00:16:54 than what your population might need.
00:16:56 - Of course, I understand how it might seem.
00:16:59 Yet the scale of the planting is evidence of the poor soil
00:17:03 and our harsh winters only add to the short season.
00:17:06 - Now, what do you say we share that cup of ale, eh?
00:17:09 - Sorry.
00:17:22 It's just, I mean, look at these beautiful people.
00:17:27 I can't imagine these glowing complexions
00:17:30 are nourished by a barren field, that's all.
00:17:32 - Hmm.
00:17:35 - Now, who's the man or woman among you
00:17:38 who oversees the harvest?
00:17:40 There must be one of you whose thumb is greener
00:17:45 than the rest.
00:17:46 Someone?
00:17:49 Hmm?
00:17:52 - Yes, sir.
00:17:53 That is me.
00:17:55 - Good.
00:17:57 - Yes, I oversee the harvest.
00:17:59 - Well, these people trust you, and so do I.
00:18:04 I'm just trying to understand how I could be so wrong
00:18:06 about what this land could yield, that's all.
00:18:08 - Well, sir.
00:18:13 Sindri, our beloved father,
00:18:19 is always looking out for the welfare of our village
00:18:22 and so insists on keeping reserves
00:18:24 in case of famine or drought,
00:18:26 which, as you know, is the responsibility of a leader.
00:18:32 But we have been lucky these last few seasons,
00:18:35 and our surplus has been more than we can store.
00:18:38 So there might be a chance that we can spare a small amount,
00:18:44 depending, of course, on the scale of your needs.
00:18:47 - Good, good.
00:18:49 Yeah, I mean, it's always wise to hold some in reserve,
00:18:52 isn't it, father?
00:18:53 Yeah.
00:18:56 Yeah.
00:19:01 I am confused, though.
00:19:02 Curious as to why you should have me believe
00:19:05 this land could barely yield enough to feed your people.
00:19:08 Seems that wasn't entirely true.
00:19:09 - No, no, no, wait, wait.
00:19:10 Admiral, no one is trying to mislead you.
00:19:14 Sindri simply has a slightly more conservative view
00:19:17 on reserves than I do.
00:19:18 But we're both excited about a possible partnership.
00:19:22 Just bear in mind the reality of what we can supply.
00:19:27 (dramatic music)
00:19:29 - Father, who is this exactly?
00:19:35 - He's of no consequence.
00:19:37 I have been empowered by my people to speak for them.
00:19:42 This man has no authority here.
00:19:44 You would be wise to ignore him.
00:19:48 - Well, a rift.
00:19:50 It's not quite the idyllic community I'd first seen.
00:19:54 - Father, if I may offer you some advice
00:19:59 when dealing with subordinates
00:20:01 who need to be kept in place.
00:20:03 I find people can lose sight of the stakes
00:20:05 and sometimes need a gentle reminder
00:20:08 of just how those with power deal with those without.
00:20:10 (dramatic music)
00:20:19 (sighing)
00:20:21 - Admiral.
00:20:42 - Sindri.
00:20:43 - Please.
00:20:44 - I would never.
00:20:46 - It's fine.
00:20:47 (dramatic music)
00:20:50 - I, let me show you what I mean.
00:20:55 Please.
00:20:59 Admiral.
00:21:02 (smashing)
00:21:04 (screaming)
00:21:06 (smashing)
00:21:11 (screaming)
00:21:16 (smashing)
00:21:19 - What did you do?
00:21:28 - When can I expect my harvest?
00:21:31 - Oh, I don't, I don't.
00:21:34 - I said tell me, partner, when I can expect my harvest.
00:21:39 - Nine weeks.
00:21:43 - Very well.
00:21:46 In 10 weeks, I shall return.
00:21:47 And you should have my 10,000 bushels prepared for my ship.
00:21:52 - 12, we barely produced 12,000 bushels.
00:21:55 We'll starve to death.
00:21:57 I don't understand what you want.
00:21:59 - No, it's simple.
00:22:01 I want everything.
00:22:04 (dramatic music)
00:22:10 (smashing)
00:22:12 - God, listen up.
00:22:24 I need all of this gear moved to this big stone building
00:22:26 that should suit us for now.
00:22:28 Marcus, you gonna help me evict the current residents
00:22:31 from our new home, copy?
00:22:32 - Copy you, boss.
00:22:34 Copy you.
00:22:39 - Hello, everyone.
00:22:39 (guns firing)
00:22:43 - I am JC1435 of the Mechanicus Militarum,
00:22:59 defender of the king.
00:23:01 Correction, of the slain king.
00:23:03 It is my honor to serve.
00:23:05 - I'm Briar Varys.
00:23:08 We're moving these supplies over to that building
00:23:11 if you wouldn't mind lending a hand.
00:23:12 - Thank you, Private Varys.
00:23:14 That falls perfectly into my protocols.
00:23:17 - I'm not gonna hear you, dirty, drying turtle.
00:23:19 Come here.
00:23:20 What the hell are you waiting for?
00:23:21 Get out, man.
00:23:22 (speaking in foreign language)
00:23:29 (whistling)
00:23:31 - Mm.
00:23:39 Thank you.
00:23:49 (dramatic music)
00:23:51 - What in the name of the old gods are you looking at?
00:24:04 - I'm sorry.
00:24:05 I was just waiting to see if you needed some more water.
00:24:08 - Some more water?
00:24:09 - For Jack!
00:24:11 - That's how I like them, young,
00:24:16 strong enough to put up a fight.
00:24:17 (laughing)
00:24:20 - Boss.
00:24:22 - Mm.
00:24:23 - Look, they left us a jimmy.
00:24:24 It's a jimmy, man!
00:24:27 (howling)
00:24:30 I didn't know we had any of those left.
00:24:32 (howling)
00:24:34 - All right, careful.
00:24:40 The ground's uneven till you get to the bridge.
00:24:42 - Thank you, Private Varys.
00:24:44 But I believe I can manage.
00:24:46 - You know they won't fight anymore, boss.
00:24:47 - What do you mean they won't fight anymore?
00:24:49 - There's something in their programming.
00:24:51 Once the king was killed,
00:24:53 they just lay down their weapons and refuse to fight.
00:24:57 Just watch.
00:24:58 No matter what I do, he doesn't fight back.
00:25:01 (gunshots)
00:25:05 - Hey!
00:25:07 Careful with that stuff, you stupid machine!
00:25:09 - I do need to scrap you, dumb shit!
00:25:11 - You hear me?
00:25:12 You're not hearing me.
00:25:15 (gunshots)
00:25:17 - Hey!
00:25:20 Stop!
00:25:20 - What if I shoot you instead, huh?
00:25:24 I could kill you right now,
00:25:27 and no one would care.
00:25:29 Would they?
00:25:30 - That's enough.
00:25:31 - What do you say?
00:25:32 Wanna die?
00:25:33 I said, huh?
00:25:34 Come on, boy.
00:25:35 - I've said enough.
00:25:44 - Get these crates into that house now.
00:25:49 Private.
00:25:50 - Yes, boss.
00:25:51 - Are you malfunctioning?
00:26:01 - No, sir.
00:26:03 - Get up.
00:26:06 Go to the river.
00:26:07 Clean yourself.
00:26:08 The rest of you, stop staring.
00:26:13 Get back to work.
00:26:14 Get back to work, you assholes.
00:26:16 - That includes you, Marcus.
00:26:17 (gunshot)
00:26:23 (gunshot)
00:26:28 (water splashing)
00:26:31 - Excuse me.
00:26:45 - Thank you.
00:26:51 That is kind.
00:26:52 - You're a soldier?
00:26:54 - Long ago.
00:26:58 - Do you mind?
00:26:59 I'm Sam.
00:27:00 - Please.
00:27:01 Tell me, Sam.
00:27:11 Do you know the story of our slain king
00:27:13 and his beautiful daughter, the Princess Isa?
00:27:17 - I don't.
00:27:18 - Well, you remind me of her.
00:27:22 In myth, she was called the chalice or the redeemer.
00:27:27 She was Pueri Salvatoris.
00:27:30 And even before she was born,
00:27:32 I and my brothers pledged everything we were,
00:27:35 everything that dwells inside this metal skin,
00:27:38 to fight in her name.
00:27:40 So when word reached us on some distant battlefield
00:27:45 that she, as prophesied, had been born of flesh
00:27:48 and blood into our world,
00:27:50 I felt a great warmth for the universe
00:27:55 and trusted that she was to usher in
00:27:57 a new age of peace and compassion
00:28:00 and bring us home.
00:28:03 - She was magic?
00:28:07 - Aye, yes.
00:28:09 She was more than magic.
00:28:11 On the day of her coronation,
00:28:15 she, along with our honored king and queen,
00:28:18 were assassinated in cold blood
00:28:21 by those they trusted most.
00:28:24 I fear we lost some measure of our honor
00:28:27 since that betrayal.
00:28:29 I'm afraid our compassion, our kindness,
00:28:35 our very joy died with that young girl.
00:28:40 - I think it lives in you.
00:28:51 - Thank you.
00:28:52 (dramatic music)
00:28:57 (wind howling)
00:29:00 (dramatic music)
00:29:02 (wind howling)
00:29:05 (dramatic music)
00:29:08 - This is your world, Gona!
00:29:35 - I didn't know that he would kill them.
00:29:37 - Doesn't matter, he's dead now.
00:29:38 - What are we gonna do about the soldiers
00:29:39 in the granary, yeah?
00:29:40 Next is gonna be the other house.
00:29:42 - Stop, stop, stop, please.
00:29:44 How about we bring in the crop
00:29:46 and we fall on their mercy?
00:29:48 We make ourselves invaluable to them.
00:29:50 They wouldn't be able to kill us.
00:29:51 They would need us.
00:29:52 - Yeah, he's right.
00:29:53 Farming, that is our skill,
00:29:56 that we can do, that they cannot.
00:29:59 If we show them how good we are,
00:30:00 they will be forced to spare us.
00:30:02 - Yes. - Yes, yeah.
00:30:04 - Do we agree? - Yes, yeah.
00:30:05 - A work fights for us. - Yes, yes.
00:30:06 - A work fights for us. - Yes, yes.
00:30:08 - Yes?
00:30:09 We settle them.
00:30:12 We show them how valuable we are.
00:30:14 And when we have fulfilled our side of the deal,
00:30:16 they will be forced to rethink how much food they leave us.
00:30:19 We can appeal to those gentlemen in the granary,
00:30:23 appeal to their humanity.
00:30:24 - Yeah, they must.
00:30:25 - Good.
00:30:33 - So, it's running.
00:30:36 Would have thought you'd have had enough of that.
00:30:41 - You heard them.
00:30:44 Their delusion.
00:30:45 They think those soldiers will show them mercy
00:30:47 even after what they did to Sindring.
00:30:50 Right in front of them.
00:30:51 - When I found you in the wreckage of that ship,
00:30:59 I considered leaving you.
00:31:02 I was afraid you could bring trouble to us.
00:31:04 - But do I for a moment regret bringing you into our lives?
00:31:10 - I do not.
00:31:11 You've become a part of us.
00:31:14 And yet now you leave when we need you most.
00:31:18 When your people need you.
00:31:21 - I can't.
00:31:27 - You mean you won't.
00:31:29 - This place is already lost.
00:31:32 - But what if that could change?
00:31:34 What if we did fight?
00:31:35 Not only us, but others.
00:31:37 - Who else do you think would come here and fight?
00:31:39 - Others that have reason to hate
00:31:42 all that the Motherworld represents.
00:31:43 Korra, you know this universe better than I.
00:31:49 What if you could find the warriors that Noble seeks?
00:31:55 The outlaws to fight alongside us?
00:31:59 - If I find warriors to fight for Veldt,
00:32:01 I give the village hope.
00:32:02 If I give them hope, they fight and surely lose.
00:32:06 I won't have that blood on my hands.
00:32:08 Or will I throw my life away the same as the rest of you?
00:32:12 (somber music)
00:32:30 (water splashing)
00:32:33 - Take this.
00:32:39 I wanna go.
00:32:41 - Samia.
00:32:44 - What is it?
00:32:45 - Did you need some more water?
00:32:47 - Just a little water.
00:32:50 - Stop it!
00:32:51 - What?
00:32:53 - Help!
00:32:56 Help!
00:32:57 Please help!
00:33:00 (screaming)
00:33:02 - Get off me!
00:33:06 - Get up!
00:33:08 - Please!
00:33:12 Stop it!
00:33:15 Please!
00:33:16 I can't!
00:33:17 I can't!
00:33:18 Get off me!
00:33:19 Get off me!
00:33:20 (screaming)
00:33:22 - Don't, don't!
00:33:24 - That is right.
00:33:26 What do you have in mind?
00:33:29 (dramatic music)
00:33:32 - I'm gonna tie you to a post.
00:33:49 I make you watch every day
00:33:52 as she turns from a farm girl to a whore.
00:33:55 (screaming)
00:33:59 - Marcus, my good man.
00:34:00 This all sounds nice,
00:34:07 but you're not gonna do anything.
00:34:10 Not until I split this sapling myself.
00:34:15 Then you may have her.
00:34:23 Then you get all to have her.
00:34:27 (screaming)
00:34:29 - Get over!
00:34:32 Stop!
00:34:36 Stop.
00:34:47 - Desert.
00:34:50 Perfect.
00:34:53 Definitely get her.
00:34:54 (dramatic music)
00:34:57 (dramatic music)
00:35:00 (dramatic music)
00:35:03 (dramatic music)
00:35:06 (dramatic music)
00:35:08 (gunshots)
00:35:36 (screaming)
00:35:38 (dramatic music)
00:35:41 (screaming)
00:35:59 (dramatic music)
00:36:03 (screaming)
00:36:05 (dramatic music)
00:36:09 (screaming)
00:36:12 (dramatic music)
00:36:14 (screaming)
00:36:21 (gunshots)
00:36:25 (dramatic music)
00:36:29 (gunshots)
00:36:33 (gunshots)
00:36:41 (gunshots)
00:36:43 - Please.
00:36:44 - Our killer.
00:36:46 Is that what you want?
00:36:47 Huh?
00:36:48 Huh?
00:36:49 Ah, look who decided to join us.
00:36:52 Kill her.
00:36:55 Kill them both.
00:36:56 (screaming)
00:36:58 (dramatic music)
00:37:01 (dramatic music)
00:37:04 - What are you waiting for?
00:37:14 - I gave you an order.
00:37:15 Kill this bitch.
00:37:16 (gunshots)
00:37:18 (gunshot)
00:37:28 (dramatic music)
00:37:31 (dramatic music)
00:38:00 (gunshot)
00:38:02 - We're gonna have to fight.
00:38:09 - Cora, you may need this.
00:38:14 I found it at the site of the crash.
00:38:29 - I thought it was lost.
00:38:31 - Our culture is not for such weapons.
00:38:37 I feared it could be dangerous.
00:38:43 - You were right.
00:38:46 Thank you.
00:38:47 - Where will he go?
00:38:52 - There is someone, general named Titus.
00:38:56 Once a hero of the realm,
00:38:57 who turned his own forces against those of the mother world.
00:39:02 Last I heard, he was still out there somewhere.
00:39:05 If I could find him, it meant for him to lead.
00:39:09 Gunnar, last year in Providence,
00:39:13 you sold grain to the resistance.
00:39:16 - Yes.
00:39:20 I met a man there who introduced me to the insurgents.
00:39:23 The blood taxes.
00:39:25 - Would he still know how to find them?
00:39:27 - It's possible.
00:39:28 - Then you'll take me to him.
00:39:32 - Of course I will.
00:39:33 - Hey, bring down one more Iraqi.
00:39:40 - A general in an army?
00:39:46 We might stand a chance.
00:39:50 - Be careful.
00:39:56 (dramatic music)
00:39:58 - A safe journey to the both of you.
00:40:08 (dramatic music)
00:40:13 (dramatic music)
00:40:16 (dramatic music)
00:40:19 (dramatic music)
00:40:22 (dramatic music)
00:40:50 - So you were a soldier for the mother world?
00:40:54 Fighting for the realm?
00:40:56 - You could say that.
00:41:01 - Of high rank, I suppose.
00:41:06 I mean, are you wanted for the search?
00:41:17 - That and more.
00:41:20 - Okay.
00:41:21 - Anything else you wanna ask me?
00:41:26 - They won't just kill us, will they?
00:41:28 I mean, I understand making an example of Sindri
00:41:33 to keep us in line.
00:41:35 But we're just farmers, we're not a threat.
00:41:39 How can you know they will destroy us?
00:41:43 - When they first came to my world, I was nine years old.
00:41:47 I never asked for anything.
00:41:50 There were no terms.
00:41:52 Only the lust for destruction.
00:41:58 The mother world's forces were commanded
00:42:03 by a young general named Alasarius,
00:42:06 who relished the ecstasy of combat.
00:42:09 The people of my world had mounted a brave defense,
00:42:17 but they had served only to enrage the young general
00:42:20 and gave him provocation to take out
00:42:22 that anger on the innocent.
00:42:25 I found myself face to face with Alasarius,
00:42:43 who loved commanding his troops,
00:42:45 from the cunning tower of his ships,
00:42:48 but on the battlefield itself.
00:42:51 (ominous music)
00:42:53 (ominous music)
00:42:56 (ominous music)
00:42:59 (ominous music)
00:43:01 (ominous music)
00:43:04 (ominous music)
00:43:07 (screaming)
00:43:27 (ominous music)
00:43:34 - Alasarius killed my entire family and took me with him.
00:43:38 I don't know why he spared me.
00:43:42 Why of the hundreds of thousands that died at his hands,
00:43:45 he chose me to live.
00:43:46 Saw something in me, I suppose.
00:43:51 Someone's sharing his pain.
00:44:00 They gave me the name Arthelaeus,
00:44:02 began my training and education
00:44:04 in the histories of the Motherworld.
00:44:07 And for five years, I lived on that ship
00:44:09 with its soldiers who were my only family.
00:44:13 No softness, only the hard lessons of war.
00:44:27 He took me often on missions of diplomacy,
00:44:31 and I was his child.
00:44:33 I was his protégé.
00:44:36 I was his student.
00:44:37 I was one of them.
00:44:40 Daughter of a decorated commander.
00:44:45 Friend to the king and the royal family.
00:44:48 Living a life of privilege.
00:44:51 (ominous music)
00:44:53 (cheering)
00:44:58 (ominous music)
00:45:00 But regardless of my social standing,
00:45:13 I was expected to do my duty,
00:45:15 to fight for the Motherworld.
00:45:18 (ominous music)
00:45:20 (ominous music)
00:45:23 At the Academy Militarium,
00:45:31 they encouraged us to find a lover.
00:45:34 Someone we would defend with our lives
00:45:38 when the politics of expansion became too abstract.
00:45:42 And the why of the conquest was lost
00:45:45 in the sheer savagery of combat.
00:45:47 (guns firing)
00:45:51 - Come on, let's go!
00:45:52 Come on!
00:45:54 (guns firing)
00:45:57 - So at the age of 18,
00:46:02 I was made an officer and given a command.
00:46:06 (guns firing)
00:46:08 (ominous music)
00:46:14 (guns firing)
00:46:16 (guns firing)
00:46:27 (guns firing)
00:46:34 (ominous music)
00:46:37 (ominous music)
00:46:39 I fought for the king of distant worlds
00:47:01 under the banner of a people
00:47:02 who murdered my entire family
00:47:05 and destroyed my world.
00:47:07 They had trained me, broken me,
00:47:11 and rebuilt me in their image.
00:47:13 I'm only telling you this so you know who I am.
00:47:19 You ask how I know that they'll destroy you.
00:47:25 That's what I would do.
00:47:34 (thunder rumbling)
00:47:37 (dogs barking)
00:48:03 (guns firing)
00:48:05 - Hakshas,
00:48:08 bounty hunters.
00:48:11 They work for the Imperium.
00:48:12 - Wait.
00:48:18 (man yelling)
00:48:19 Oh no.
00:48:20 Kor, that's our guy.
00:48:22 That's the man we came to see,
00:48:23 the one that introduced me to the bloodaxes.
00:48:26 - Did the bloodaxes give you any other way to contact them?
00:48:30 - No, they said they were sheltered
00:48:32 on a planet called Sharan,
00:48:33 protected by a king named Leviticus.
00:48:37 - Leviticus.
00:48:38 Come.
00:48:41 (dramatic music)
00:48:45 (men chattering)
00:49:00 (liquid pouring)
00:49:03 - Shut up.
00:49:07 (men chattering)
00:49:11 (thunder rumbling)
00:49:24 (dramatic music)
00:49:27 - Carbosed.
00:49:36 - Anyway, I think our best chance to find the bloodaxes
00:49:41 is to contact the Leviticans.
00:49:43 - It might expose us.
00:49:45 First we find General Titus,
00:49:46 then we'll see about your rebels.
00:49:53 (man coughing)
00:49:55 - Is this your owner?
00:49:58 - Move on, he's not for sale.
00:50:00 - Everything's for sale in this place, so how much?
00:50:04 You know, I have a room upstairs
00:50:06 with relatively clean sheets.
00:50:09 - Very generous offer, but I don't disagree.
00:50:11 (man grunting)
00:50:12 - I guarantee you by morning,
00:50:14 you're gonna be begging me for more.
00:50:17 - I said move on.
00:50:19 - Oh, come on, Mama.
00:50:22 - Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:50:23 Let him come and play.
00:50:26 - You need to leave.
00:50:27 - Listen close, you jealous little bitch.
00:50:29 (man grunting)
00:50:32 - Now you listen close.
00:50:37 I told you, you need to leave.
00:50:38 (man grunting)
00:50:41 (guns firing)
00:50:43 (man grunting)
00:50:46 (men chattering)
00:50:52 (man grunting)
00:50:55 - I'm looking for information.
00:51:00 Has anyone here heard of General Titus,
00:51:09 or know where he might be?
00:51:11 (man grunting)
00:51:18 - Of course, General Titus.
00:51:21 (man grunting)
00:51:23 Crazy bastard turned his own men
00:51:25 on the Mother World's forces
00:51:27 at the Battle of Sarawu.
00:51:30 - Do you know of his location?
00:51:34 - Last I heard, he was fighting
00:51:36 in the Coliseum at Pollux.
00:51:38 (man grunting)
00:51:42 I'd be careful if I were you, little miss.
00:51:45 Last hunter who went looking for him
00:51:47 ended up with his head on a pike.
00:51:50 Outside the Coliseum entrance,
00:51:52 as a warning not to bother him.
00:51:56 (man grunting)
00:52:00 - So he's on Pollux?
00:52:04 - That's your plan?
00:52:08 - That's my plan.
00:52:09 What?
00:52:12 - Guess we need to find a ship to take us to Pollux.
00:52:16 - You're catching on.
00:52:19 - Hey, bitch!
00:52:21 (laughing)
00:52:25 Oh, you should have killed me.
00:52:28 Now you're gonna die.
00:52:29 - I'm gonna give you one chance
00:52:33 to just turn and walk away.
00:52:36 - Are you gonna give all of us one chance?
00:52:42 (dramatic music)
00:52:48 (dramatic music)
00:52:51 - Kill her.
00:53:01 (guns firing)
00:53:03 (dramatic music)
00:53:06 (dramatic music)
00:53:09 (guns firing)
00:53:12 (dramatic music)
00:53:15 (man grunting)
00:53:32 (dramatic music)
00:53:36 (guns firing)
00:53:38 (man grunting)
00:53:49 (dramatic music)
00:53:52 (guns firing)
00:54:01 (dramatic music)
00:54:04 (guns firing)
00:54:06 (dramatic music)
00:54:09 (gun firing)
00:54:15 (gun firing)

01:57:29 [HORSE NEIGHING]
01:57:32 I've been wondering.
01:57:43 Is what that dead bounty hunter said true?
01:57:46 That you're Athelius?
01:57:50 That guy was a liar and a thief
01:57:51 who nearly sold you off for a profit.
01:57:53 Anything more you want, General?
01:57:56 Don't call me General.
01:57:59 Hey! You see it?
01:58:02 There!
01:58:04 That's our village.
01:58:09 Home.
01:58:12 Home.
01:58:13 I never had a place to put you the word.
01:58:19 It's almost a shame you killed that son of a bitch noble
01:58:21 and we don't have to fight.
01:58:23 This would have been a beautiful place to die.
01:58:27 Yes, it would.
01:58:37 Let's go.
01:58:44 [♪♪♪]
01:58:47 [♪♪♪]
01:59:14 [♪♪♪]
01:59:17 [♪♪♪]

01:59:35 [♪♪♪]
01:59:39 [♪♪♪]
01:59:46 [♪♪♪]
01:59:48 Ready him for transmission.
01:59:56 Belisarius is standing by.
01:59:58 Sir, should we stabilize him first?
02:00:02 No.
02:00:04 It will not keep the region waiting.
02:00:14 Neuralink.
02:00:15 Link is established.
02:00:21 Connection complete.
02:00:39 Signal is strong.
02:00:42 [♪♪♪]
02:00:44 Send him.
02:01:08 [♪♪♪]
02:01:10 [♪♪♪]
02:01:37 [♪♪♪]
02:01:39 Master.
02:01:40 Belisarius.
02:01:43 I have found her.
02:01:45 I have found Arthur Lace.
02:01:48 The Scargiver.
02:01:50 You're certain it's her?
02:01:53 I am, my lord.
02:01:54 She was in the company of the disgraced general Titus and Darien Bloodaxe.
02:01:58 We are close to capturing them.
02:02:00 Tell me, Commander.
02:02:03 Did you think that this would be good news?
02:02:06 That my daughter, Arthur Lace,
02:02:08 one of the most dangerous and decorated warriors in the history of armed conflict,
02:02:13 is now part of a blossoming insurgency?
02:02:17 I'm supposed to be happy that she's joined forces with the genius
02:02:22 battlefield commander, General Titus.
02:02:25 So she is within our grasp.
02:02:32 Let me bring you her head.
02:02:33 In truth, I fear the head most endangered here is yours.
02:02:43 You will crush this insurgency to the last man. Do you hear me?
02:02:49 And then you will capture my daughter alive
02:02:53 and bring back my precious child to me.
02:03:00 So that I may crucify her in the shadow of the senate.
02:03:03 If you cannot bring her to me,
02:03:05 then the one whose public execution will send shivers down the spines of the senators
02:03:11 and whose screams will echo down its marbled halls
02:03:16 will be yours.
02:03:19 Yours is...
02:03:20 Did he make it back?
02:03:44 I don't know. I have no heartbeats or brain function.
02:03:48 It's him with everything.
02:03:49 It's him with everything.
