00:00 >> No, for me it was pretty simple.
00:02 I've always been taught if I'm able to play a game or if there's a game on my
00:07 schedule and I'm able to play, I should play.
00:10 My teammates, my family, my coaches, I mean, that was pretty simple for me.
00:15 >> I'm curious, I mean, you guys obviously had your own disappointment the way that
00:18 the season ended and certainly had a strong case to be in that top four regardless.
00:23 But particularly as a defensive player, Florida State's 13 and
00:28 the committee says sorry, your quarterback got hurt.
00:31 You're not good enough to be here.
00:33 That had been you guys and Carson gets hurt.
00:36 Where would your mindset have been?
00:38 Do you think that's a fair way to evaluate a team or how would you approach that?
00:42 >> I mean, it's tough, honestly.
00:46 I mean, you put a lot of stress onto one player whenever a team is
00:51 considered to have about 80 to 130 players.
00:55 But the committee made their decision and they obviously put a lot of thought into
01:00 that and they thought that was the best decision.
01:02 So I mean, what am I to say that they're wrong?
01:04 I mean, it's definitely a tough decision because, I mean,
01:08 it's just tough because it's just tough.
01:11 >> Yeah, yeah.
01:11 >> I mean, there's not much more to really say about it.
01:13 >> I mean, you've played Alabama and
01:15 you've I assume watched a good bit of tape on Florida State at this point.
01:18 I'm assuming you don't see it as like, well,
01:20 there's clearly one better team and one worse team here.
01:23 >> I mean, it's just super tough because both teams are very good.
01:26 I mean, obviously we lost to Alabama and then obviously Florida State is undefeated.
01:30 So I mean, yeah, they're very tough decision to make, but they ended up making it.
01:34 I mean, that's why they get chosen and paid to make those decisions.
01:38 >> Kambari, I'm sure you've asked or answered this multiple times already today,
01:40 but what went into the decision to play in this four game period?
01:44 >> It was pretty simple for me.
01:48 I was always under the impression if I'm able to play physically and
01:54 mentally, I'm gonna play.
01:55 So I mean, it wasn't really a big question or anything like that.
01:59 It was just a matter of time, when's the game?
02:03 >> Have you made a decision about that yet?
02:05 >> Not yet, I'm gonna wait till after the game, talk with my family and
02:08 everybody and the coaches and then we're gonna decide.
02:11 >> I asked Malik a similar question, I'm curious your thoughts.
02:13 When you don't really know what you're doing yet,
02:15 you haven't seen a lot of these guys before, so they play, so they got a lot of opt outs.
02:19 How do you prepare for kind of a nameless and faceless opponent?
02:22 >> You just kind of prepare on the precipice of just how the team has played all year,
02:29 the things that they do, their tendencies and stuff like that.
02:33 You just try and be ready for things like that,
02:36 because obviously the players are gonna be different.
02:37 They have a lot of good players that opted out, especially on offense,
02:41 quarterback, good receivers, running backs and stuff like that.
02:43 So I mean, you can't really fully understand or fully know,
02:49 but you can have kind of an idea.
02:51 >> We talked about the fact that you've got a decision to make after the whole game.
02:54 Obviously, that means you're a pretty talented player.
02:56 Where do you feel like your game has grown the most over this year?
02:58 >> I really wanted to just be able to show that I can cover.
03:04 I really wanted to show that I'm a pretty good cover guy.
03:07 I wanted to be a really good cover guy this year.
03:10 I felt like I showed my sophomore year that I'm a physical guy.
03:14 I love to come down and make tackles, but I really wanted to just show that I can
03:17 cover whoever and wherever on the field.
03:20 >> Obviously, a lot of young cornerbacks in your room,
03:22 a couple that have been in the transfer portal.
03:25 What is there behind you in Dalyan and Julian and
03:29 some of those guys, some of those younger players?
03:31 >> Pure talent.
03:34 I mean, these guys are very talented.
03:35 They're young, but they're really talented.
03:39 They have all the intangibles.
03:40 They just have everything.
03:43 You just have to really just start honing in and locking in on game.
03:46 Whenever you're young, things get hard just because of the magnitude of the game,
03:51 the magnitude of the coverage that we play in, but
03:54 with experience, everything's gonna come full circle.
03:58 >> Not sure how much you've gotten to see out of Ellis yet.
04:00 What stands out to you about him?
04:02 >> He's young, but he's very good.
04:04 He wants to learn.
04:05 He wants to get better so fast.
04:07 You can tell that he's one of those guys that he definitely wants to come in and
04:10 play day one.
04:11 And I believe that with his work ethic and with his talent that he can.
