00:00 Generally peaceful, that's how the Philippine National Police described the meeting and celebration of Christmas this year.
00:08 The rebels also declared a two-day ceasefire.
00:12 That's what Patrick De Jesus said.
00:14 Because of the different preparations and tighter security,
00:20 the meeting and celebration of Christmas in the whole country is generally peaceful.
00:26 According to the Philippine National Police, no untoward incidents were reported,
00:31 such as the increase in the full alert status.
00:34 As of yesterday, we deployed more than 79,000 people to places of convergence
00:42 where we are anticipating that more people will be joining.
00:46 We are very thankful to our countrymen for their cooperation.
00:50 And in keeping with the safety tips we gave, we were able to resolve the low crime rate
00:59 that we were expecting yesterday compared to the previous year.
01:03 After Christmas, the new year is coming.
01:07 That's why the Philippine National Police said that the same level of security should be maintained
01:12 with the help of force multipliers.
01:15 We will not leave the people we deployed.
01:20 That's what the Philippine National Police said.
01:23 We need to maintain our proactive stance until the new year celebration is over.
01:30 Because we know that our countrymen are more excited about the new year celebration.
01:35 There are six incidents of illegal discharge of firearms that were recorded,
01:39 where one was injured.
01:41 Two of the injured were members of the PNP while two were members of the AFP.
01:46 The PNP also reminded the police, other law enforcement agencies and gun owners
01:52 to be responsible and not to use their firearms during the new year celebration.
01:57 Meanwhile, the government is still being offensive despite the two-day ceasefire
02:03 that the CBP-NPA declared until tomorrow.
02:07 We learned from our past experiences that even though they declared,
02:17 they are not stopping their atrocities and harassment.
02:23 The PNP and AFP will continue our military and focus operations
02:29 and we will monitor areas that are vulnerable to any attacks.
02:33 The Armed Forces of the Philippines also called for an empty statement
02:37 on the declaration of ceasefire of the Communist Party of the Philippines
02:41 due to the lack of leadership and support,
02:44 where the number of its members are decreasing and some have already surrendered.
02:49 The military is still preparing for possible harassment from the communist group.
02:55 Again, these are encouraged to turn their backs to the armed resistance.
02:59 Patrick De Jesus for the country.
