00:00 You can just see from the-- Yeah.
00:02 Yeah, you can see the size advantage there for Carmona.
00:06 Yeah, Carmona, very big, very tall for a Mexican fighter.
00:10 Almost 6 feet there, 5'11" on the tail of the tape.
00:13 It should be a good one here.
00:15 These two big, big fighters here,
00:18 and we'd like to remind you that we will do keys to victory
00:22 in this fight in a few minutes here.
00:25 Just a little bit, in a few minutes,
00:27 here on ProBoxTV.com.
00:29 It's Sebastian Papeche going up against Diego Carmona.
00:33 Round one underway here.
00:35 The IBF Latino middleweight title on the line.
00:39 Sebastian Papeche in the black trunks
00:41 with the Argentine flag on the side
00:43 going up against Diego Carmona
00:45 with the red trunks, the green and white on the side.
00:48 Red gloves for Papeche, black gloves for Carmona.
00:51 Carmona kind of the opposite color scheme
00:53 of Ifred Rodriguez from the last fight.
00:56 And early on, Papeche throwing some big blows here.
01:01 Last fight for Sebastian Papeche, October 21, 2022,
01:04 when he fought at 168.
01:06 Eighth round TKO over Jairo Ariel Raimond.
01:11 Meanwhile, Carmona, over a year since he's fought, July 16.
01:15 That was in Panama City, Panama,
01:17 not to be confused with Panama City, Florida.
01:20 He scored a second-round TKO against Adil Sanchez.
01:24 >> And for those of you at home tuning in,
01:27 do not adjust your screen.
01:29 We do have a rare southpaw versus southpaw matchup here.
01:32 Both guys fighting out of that southpaw position.
01:35 Carmona the taller of the two.
01:37 And actually, he looks like the physically bigger man tonight.
01:40 He's not just taller, he looks physically bigger as well.
01:44 He came out with a very nice jab to open up round number one.
01:47 Papeche putting on a lot of pressure, though.
01:50 >> Coming off a very active and entertaining flyweight fight
01:53 in which Raimond Quiroga picked up the victory
01:56 by unanimous decision over Reyferen Rodriguez,
01:58 the first of Argentina versus Mexico here in Cordoba.
02:02 We'll see if Argentina can make it 2-0 tonight
02:06 when it comes to the co-main event and main event.
02:08 Papeche has Carmona on the ropes.
02:10 >> We're about 50 pounds north of that last fight,
02:12 so we're probably not going to see as many punches thrown.
02:14 We are going to see a little more power, though.
02:16 You see these guys both look physically strong.
02:18 They're looking to set up big shots like that one right there from Papeche.
02:22 So that means when we have bigger fighters, more power,
02:25 the possibility of a spectacular knockout.
02:28 >> That's why we're tuning in, right? That's why we're here.
02:30 >> Yeah.
02:31 George DiMatteis alongside Chris Algieri.
02:33 Thank you very much for joining us here on ProBoxTV.com,
02:36 your boxing channel.
02:38 It's ProBoxTV in association with Samsung Boxing and Theo Box
02:43 presenting this tremendous fight card from Cordoba and Argentina.
02:46 Some of the best talent from Latin America.
02:50 Carmona with the right hand there.
02:52 Sneaking through the defense, then tries to double up to connect with Papeche.
02:55 >> We're early here, but it's obvious that both these men's psychology
03:00 and strategy has been carved out.
03:03 You're seeing Carmona fighting from the outside, using that jab,
03:05 using his height, his reach, his physical advantages in the ring.
03:09 And you got Papeche who's coming forward.
03:11 He wants to be inside close.
03:13 He wants to put his head on your chest and bang away with both hands.
03:15 He's been launching some really nice right hooks.
03:18 But then there you see Carmona popping the head up of Papeche
03:22 whenever he gets inside.
03:24 >> Leaning on the ropes there to try to maybe get some leverage.
03:27 Less than 10 seconds remaining here in this first round
03:30 of this middleweight bout between Diego Carmona and Sebastian Papeche.
03:35 [bell dings]
03:37 >> Stop!
03:39 >> It ends as we present the keys to victory for both of these fighters.
03:44 Beginning with Diego Carmona.
03:46 Stay off the ropes, although he was on the ropes toward the end of that first round.
03:49 Be aggressive and use the jab.
03:51 >> Yeah, absolutely. I mean, he's a taller man.
03:53 He's got a 4-inch height advantage. He's got a reach advantage.
03:56 He looks like he's a good boxer, too. He's smart.
03:58 He was sticking with that jab. He was being consistent when he was on the ropes.
04:00 So that's what Papeche was putting up that pressure.
04:03 Next, you got the home crowd advantage. Take advantage of that.
04:06 Pinning your man on the ropes is a good idea.
04:07 You're going to get those crowds to get behind you.
04:09 I mentioned in the fight earlier, it can help with the judging.
04:11 Stay focused. You got a guy in front of you who's going to be boxing.
04:15 You got to stay focused. You got to stay disciplined.
04:17 And then lastly, close the space.
04:19 Obviously, you got an opponent who's a lot taller than you.
04:21 You want to get in the inside.
04:22 I mentioned how he wants to put his head on his opponent's chest and bang with both hands.
04:26 He's got a nice right hook that he was flashing the first round.
04:28 Hasn't been able to land it yet, but that's going to be an important weapon as this fight rolls out.
04:33 >> So how does Papeche, who's a smaller, has a lesser reach,
04:36 how does he get inside and avoid that length of Carmona?
04:39 >> I always say the smaller man has to jab with the taller man.
04:43 Jab your way in. Just because you have a reach or a height disadvantage
04:46 doesn't mean you should throw out the jab and just go to power punches.
04:49 You should jab with him, try and offset your rhythm, mask your movement on the inside
04:53 so you don't take any damage that you don't need to take.
04:56 >> Diego Carmona, as I mentioned before, six game-- excuse me, excuse me.
04:59 See? Still in the soccer mind, Chris. I got to get out of that.
05:02 Six fight win streak. Five of those wins have been by stoppage.
05:07 Meanwhile, for Papeche, fourth consecutive fight scheduled for ten rounds.
05:12 So he's starting to move up into the later rounds or fights with higher numbers,
05:19 for lack of a better term, and test his fitness.
05:23 >> Nice jabs flash by Carmona. He looks like he's got heavy hands, too.
05:26 He landed a couple left hands on the gloves of Papeche,
05:29 and it set him down in his stance and put him on his heels.
05:32 Carmona's got some good pop.
05:35 >> Eleven of his 13 wins have come by way of knockouts,
05:38 so he definitely has the power in his hands.
05:43 >> I'd say speed advantage would be in Papeche's court.
05:45 He's been flashing some good combinations, good fast hands.
05:48 He landed a nice, sneaky body shot moments ago.
05:51 There we see a double-triple jab from Papeche.
05:53 And there we go, the shorter man trying to jab with the taller guy. Smart.
06:00 >> So you figure he's the shorter man, so he probably-- maybe he's quicker.
06:04 Maybe not the hands, but the body movement could be quicker,
06:06 so he can allude to those jabs of Carmona inside along with the jab.
06:10 >> Yeah, I think Papeche actually has the faster hands, too.
06:12 He's letting his hands go nicely. He's being aggressive.
06:16 He mentioned that he had been ten several times,
06:19 so he's got the experience advantage as well.
06:24 >> There goes the jab, one of those keys to victory for Carmona.
06:29 He tripled up on it three times up on it.
06:33 Oh, big left hook upstairs from Carmona.
06:40 >> Papeche getting through. There's the jab you mentioned there, Chris,
06:42 to get in and cover that space.
06:46 He's the man here in the second round,
06:48 and both of these guys are dropping some bombs right now.
06:51 Or he's trying to land some bombs.
06:54 >> It looks like to me, Papeche has the right idea,
06:56 but Carmona understands what he is.
06:59 He's tall, he's long, he's got good pop.
07:01 He's timing a lot of those.
07:03 There's a good right hook as well.
07:05 Again, Carmona's having a good opening first two rounds here.
07:11 >> Both fighters not afraid to exchange here.
07:16 Trading jabs. It's unique.
07:18 You mentioned two southpaws there.
07:20 In terms of the angles, it's a little bit different,
07:22 especially for those of us watching,
07:24 compared to an orthodox and a southpaw.
07:26 >> Well, I mean, there's no advantage for either man.
07:28 Normally the southpaw has an advantage over right-handers
07:30 because there's so many more right-handers.
07:32 So you're used to boxing with righties.
07:34 And a lot of times there's a disadvantage for the orthodox fighter
07:36 because there's not as many southpaws.
07:38 You don't have as much experience.
07:39 Now these guys probably don't have much experience with southpaws.
07:41 So it really doesn't aid either man.
07:44 >> Which means we're up for a good even fight.
07:47 >> Yeah. >> That's what it means.
07:48 >> Seems like it so far.
07:50 >> We're into the end of the second round.
07:53 And I think still a little bit of a filling out process
07:55 from both fighters there.
07:57 But we got so far after the first two rounds.
07:59 >> I like Carmona so far.
08:00 I think that he's been utilizing that jab very well.
08:03 He's been timing the onrushes of Sebastian.
08:07 And he's landed some good shots.
08:09 Seem to have an effect so far.
08:11 >> Here's Diego Carmona receiving some instructions in the corner.
08:22 Holding his own.
08:24 Carmona, nicknamed Maravilla.
08:28 Like the great Argentinian fighter.
08:30 >> Yeah. Sergio Martinez.
08:32 >> The man.
08:34 >> Most famously known for that knockout one-punch
08:38 where he dropped Paul Williams.
08:39 I mean he lullabied him there.
08:41 That might be what he's best known for.
08:44 Third round here in Cordoba.
08:47 And Sebastian Papeschi in the black trunks
08:50 with the Argentine flag colors on the side.
08:54 In sky blue and white.
08:55 >> I like to him Diego Carmona the Mexican in the red with the black gloves.
08:58 Red trunks with the black gloves.
09:00 >> It just kind of came to me about Papeschi's style.
09:02 He's kind of pesky.
09:03 Even though his name is Papeschi.
09:05 But he's pesky in the way that his approach in this fight.
09:07 He's coming in with that double triple jab.
09:09 He's in your face.
09:10 He's making that noise.
09:11 He's got a lot of movement.
09:12 And Carmona much more reserved.
09:14 More relaxed.
09:15 Finding his jab.
09:16 Looking for his timing.
09:17 Looking for his spots.
09:19 This could be an interesting fight to score.
09:21 Because what do you like?
09:22 You like the guy who's busy?
09:23 Or you like the guy who lands a little fewer and far between?
09:26 >> Carmona landing that right hook.
09:29 And as our colleague Paulino Alenaggi would say, it's "Papeschi" in Italian.
09:34 So "Peschi, Papeschi." There you go.
09:35 >> A lot of Italians in Argentina.
09:36 >> Yes, sir.
09:37 And less than two minutes here.
09:43 >> Oh! Big left hand from Carmona.
09:47 Again, it's the timing.
09:48 He catches Papeschi as he comes in.
09:52 As a taller man should.
09:54 >> Still trying to utilize the jab there.
10:00 Papeschi and Carmona.
10:03 The way Carmona kind of evades some of the punches, Dodges,
10:08 is not much-- it's not a lot of exaggerated movement.
10:12 It's pretty--
10:13 >> Nothing wasted.
10:14 >> Right, exactly.
10:15 >> Nothing wasted.
10:16 I call that no fat.
10:17 There's no fat in the punch when there's nothing shown,
10:19 nothing wasted.
10:21 Oh! Big right hook swing and partially blocked.
10:25 >> There goes Papeschi changing levels.
10:29 They're going to the body, then going to the head.
10:31 >> Oh, good overhand left from Carmona once again.
10:34 You know, the effort is coming from Papeschi,
10:38 but he's not getting a whole lot done in my eyes.
10:41 Carmona, again, fewer and far between,
10:44 but seems to be having-- being obviously much more efficient,
10:47 but having more success with his style.
10:50 >> There goes the jab by Papeschi connecting,
10:52 and then Carmona ducking a couple of punches.
10:55 >> Oh, big overhand left.
10:57 Best punch of the fight so far.
10:59 >> That certainly caught Carmona's attention.
11:01 >> Nice double, triple jab there from Carmona.
11:09 >> Carmona's hands appear to be low,
11:13 so maybe that leaves him susceptible to that left hand again there.
11:16 A little low, the hands maybe.
11:18 >> A lot less experience for Carmona,
11:22 but definitely that man knows his way around the ring.
11:25 He knows how to box.
11:26 He knows what his game plan is,
11:28 but he needs to be careful not to get outworked
11:30 and get hit pulling out straight just like that.
11:33 >> Right hand connecting there by Papeschi.
11:36 And I think the action is starting to get better and better here.
11:41 And don't forget September 6th, Wednesday night fights.
11:44 Co-main event from the Pro Box TV event center in Plant City, Florida.
11:48 Radovoi "Hot Rod" Kalajic against Mickey Ellison.
11:51 That is going to be a fantastic, fantastic fight.
11:55 And we have some great shows here on ProBoxTV.com,
11:59 including my favorite sparring sessions
12:01 with George Yakovic, Chris Algieri, and Paulina Malignaggi.
12:04 Here's a little taste.
12:05 [Music]
12:24 >> Throw salt in the wound, I see.
12:26 >> They're adding insult to it.
12:29 Insult to the injury.
12:30 Wilder is not going to be noncommittal.
12:33 He's going to throw that right hand behind it, unlike Helanious,
12:36 and he's going to be able to hit Joshua with that,
12:38 especially at that middle distance range.
12:40 >> He's on a better path.
12:41 He's on a more destructive path.
12:43 He hasn't been beaten.
12:44 Let's remember Pacquiao also took some losses early in his career,
12:47 then kind of went on to a rocket phase.
12:49 You know, he was kind of inconsistent at first.
12:51 >> Downsizing.
12:52 >> I had two cups of coffee today before this.
12:54 I was ready.
12:55 [Music]
13:00 >> Sparring sessions on proboxtv.com.
13:03 Did you agree with the judges' decision on the last show, Chris?
13:06 >> I actually don't remember.
13:07 We've been filming so many, I don't remember which one that was, honestly.
13:10 >> I think the last one probably got you by a point at the end there
13:13 with our referee/judge George Yakovic there.
13:18 Got to knock him out early when the sparring session's there.
13:20 Round four here on proboxtv.com.
13:23 George DiMatteis alongside world champion in boxing and kickboxing,
13:27 Chris Algieri, and live action--
13:30 or excuse me, this is a great fight here in Cordoba, Argentina
13:33 as round four underway.
13:37 Sebastian Papeschi in the black trunks with the sky blue and whites,
13:42 the Argentine flag on the side, and the Mexican, Diego Carmona,
13:46 in the red trunks with the black gloves.
13:50 Fourth round of this IBF Latino Middleweight Championship fight
13:53 here in Cordoba.
13:56 And so far, it's been Carmona holding his own.
14:00 Papeschi maybe starting to improve here as we get into the later rounds.
14:05 >> Yeah, I had Carmona coming out strong in the first two rounds,
14:08 was boxing well, using his jab.
14:10 But that third round, Papeschi was finally able to get close enough
14:12 to land those big shots, namely a big overhand left and a right hook
14:16 as Carmona pulled out.
14:18 Best shots of the fight so far.
14:21 But here comes Carmona.
14:22 I mentioned Carmona has the heavier hands, man.
14:24 He does have some power on those shots.
14:28 >> Carmona teeing off a little bit there.
14:30 >> Oh, big left hand over the top again.
14:32 And back comes Papeschi with the left hand.
14:37 >> Right hand there connecting.
14:42 >> Oh, nice shot.
14:43 That right hook to the body, I mentioned that early in round number one
14:45 from Papeschi.
14:46 That's been a nice, sneaky shot that he just slides in there.
14:50 >> Halfway through the fourth round, he has to continue to go to that, right,
14:53 to kind of maybe lower the hands and work the jab?
14:56 >> Well, I like the consistency from Papeschi so far.
14:59 He's stuck with the jab throughout, whether it's been successful or not,
15:01 which I think is really important.
15:03 There you see him, he went for a feint and Carmona bit it.
15:05 And then that right hook to the body, which he's landed several,
15:08 I think the consistency of Papeschi and the effort is starting to wear
15:12 on Carmona here as the rounds wear on.
15:14 Oh, good jab.
15:15 That's that jab I talked about.
15:18 Nice punch selection there.
15:22 Get through the defense there of Diego Carmona.
15:26 >> Good combination, finishes the body, comes back with a hard jab.
15:29 Nice, pops the head back.
15:32 >> Well done by Papeschi.
15:33 That gets a rise out of the crowd here in Cordoba.
15:36 >> Yeah, I mentioned the word effort.
15:37 That's really what it is.
15:38 It's the effort on the side of--oh, Papeschi, there's a big overhand.
15:44 And back to the jab.
15:45 I love the consistency.
15:46 >> And you know what?
15:47 I think Carmona is starting to bleed from the nose here
15:49 as this definitely has been a round in favor of Papeschi.
15:53 Less than 30 seconds remaining.
15:57 >> Yeah, I gave Papeschi the last round.
15:59 I thought he stole it with the big overhand left and right hook combination.
16:02 This round he's winning big.
16:04 But I gave the first two to Carmona.
16:05 So this is--if Papeschi wins this round, you're looking at still an even fight.
16:10 >> Starting to even out a little bit here.
16:12 >> Oh, big overhand.
16:15 >> Starting to even out here.
16:18 >> Big round here for Sebastian Papeschi.
16:22 Taking that fourth round with some big blows, some hard shots.
16:27 And now we see the nose bleeding, the blood coming out of the nose of Diego Carmona.
16:32 Take a look at that best action from the fourth round.
16:35 >> Nose is bleeding from those jabs.
16:37 Papeschi landed some really stiff, hard jabs that were popping the head back of Carmona.
16:41 Luckily that last shot missed.
16:43 But Papeschi, really nice round, letting his hands go, throwing combinations.
16:46 Very smart with his punch selection.
16:48 But always back to that jab.
16:50 Consistency has been a key element of Papeschi's style so far.
16:54 >> We saw in the previous fights that the cut above the eye and how it could affect the vision.
16:59 But how does the blood in the nose--I mean, obviously it's going to affect the breathing.
17:02 That makes it just ten times more difficult going forward in a fight that could go the distance.
17:07 >> If anyone who's ever had a bloody nose while still competing in something,
17:11 you're going to understand any blood that you see on the outside is going to be double, triple that on the inside.
17:15 So you're swallowing that blood all night long.
17:18 So any blood you see coming down from the nose is going down the throat as well.
17:22 >> And I don't think there's anything the corner man or cut man or any doctor can do.
17:26 >> You can throw a gentleman up there if there is an actual cut in the inside of the nose which can help with the bleeding.
17:30 But, I mean, you're out there getting punched over and over again.
17:33 Blood in the nose is tough. It blocks your airway.
17:36 So you start breathing out of your mouth, then your jaw's open.
17:39 Bigger risk of injuring your jaw with an open mouth.
17:41 >> The effectiveness of Sebastian Papeschi's jab coming into play.
17:45 >> Nice jab to the body there and back upstairs.
17:48 Definitely found a home for the jab.
17:50 You mentioned, George, what does a shorter man need to do to get inside?
17:53 It's the jab, and Papeschi has been doing that brilliantly the last three rounds.
17:56 >> One of the keys to victory was for Carmona to stay off the ropes.
17:59 Well, he was on the ropes there. He finally escaped, but...
18:01 >> Yeah, look at him. He's putting himself on the ropes.
18:03 >> Yep. And it looks like maybe Papeschi's walking him down a little bit as well.
18:08 >> It's on the strength of that jab.
18:11 Once the shorter man starts out jabbing you and that's your weapon, you're the taller guy,
18:14 you're in a world of trouble.
18:16 Nice stab jab to the body there.
18:18 >> Ooh! >> Right hand.
18:20 >> Actually, left hand, because they're both southpaw.
18:24 But Carmona came back with a right hand that just missed.
18:27 >> And Papeschi, you can see, I think once he discovered that the jab could be effective,
18:34 then everything else opened up for him.
18:36 >> That was a nice setup there. He did a stab jab down to the body,
18:38 then as Carmona moved out to that left side, he faked the lead right hand,
18:43 came back with a overhand left hand that just missed.
18:46 >> There's Carmona.
18:48 This is his jab to try to get through the defense of Papeschi,
18:51 but Papeschi, once again, getting Carmona on the ropes.
18:55 Or at least Carmona, for lack of a better term, volunteering to go on the ropes.
19:02 >> Papeschi, the smaller man, the shorter man, but he's coming on with effort
19:07 and bringing a lot of pressure, throwing nice combinations,
19:09 and he's in great shape, it seems.
19:11 Ooh, good overhand left.
19:14 >> Combination here on the ropes, as Papeschi--
19:17 >> Carmona does not want to be on those ropes.
19:20 >> Oh, and now the pressure, the big shots coming by Papeschi
19:24 as he's got Carmona on the ropes.
19:26 The Mexican escapes.
19:29 But, the referee's saying, "Don't push."
19:32 Another round in which Papeschi's starting to grow and find his range.
19:39 Less than a minute remaining in this fifth round.
19:42 Both fighters stepping into the ring, looking to become the IBF Latino middleweight champion.
19:49 Body shot there by Papeschi.
19:52 Ooh, and then a left to the head there.
19:54 >> Going to the body's gonna be smart from Papeschi.
19:56 >> And Carmona's slowing down a lot in these last couple rounds.
19:59 We had mentioned the blood from the nose, how that can hinder your breath.
20:02 So, going to the body's gonna be a smart move.
20:04 You got a guy who's starting to slow, and we're only halfway through now.
20:07 Putting himself on the ropes, that's usually a sign that the fighter's legs are tired.
20:12 Let's see if Papeschi can capitalize more than he is.
20:16 >> Papeschi's starting to-- >> Mm, good right hook.
20:19 >> Yeah, connecting more and more with the right hook and the body as well.
20:23 >> Well done by Sebastian Papeschi in the fifth round.
20:26 The tide is turning.
20:28 If it's not-- if it hasn't turned already, it is turning in favor of Sebastian Papeschi.
20:33 And Carmona on the ropes a little too much, I'm sure, for his corner's liking in this fifth round.
20:40 >> Depending on how you have it scored, I mean, I have Papeschi going ahead now three rounds to two.
20:44 But, I mean, the momentum is certainly in his court.
20:47 He's been putting a ton of pressure, landing big shots.
20:49 We've got blood from the nose of Carmona.
20:50 And Carmona just looks to be tiring very, very quickly.
20:54 He doesn't have the same snap on the punches they had earlier.
20:56 He doesn't seem as confident in his style anymore.
20:59 We've got a long way to go in this fight.
21:01 Let's see how it plays out.
21:03 >> I think those jabs in the third and fourth round,
21:06 bloody in the nose, you talked about the effect it's had on the breathing.
21:10 I think that has been a major reason why Carmona has slowed down.
21:14 It appears, too, in the first couple of rounds, Carmona's standing maybe a little more straight up, more erect.
21:20 But now, as the fight has progressed, he's ducking down a little more.
21:23 Maybe that puts him in range, makes it easier for Papeschi to hit him.
21:27 >> Yeah, well, Carmona has not been able to maintain his range anymore.
21:30 He was able to out-jab Papeschi early.
21:32 But now, Papeschi has closed that distance to the point where now he can land his power shots,
21:36 the overhand lefts, the right hooks, the body shots.
21:38 Everything seems to be working for Papeschi.
21:40 And it just came off his jab.
21:41 He started to out-jab the taller man.
21:42 We saw another jab in the middle there.
21:44 And he's been very consistent with his work.
21:46 >> Papeschi... >> Just missing with that overhand left.
21:50 >> He has fought 12 rounds before, actually.
21:54 He fought 12 rounds before back in November of 2018.
21:57 And he won a unanimous decision against Christian Rios.
22:00 That was almost five years ago, but it's not foreign to him to go the distance in double-digit rounds.
22:10 >> Carmona has made a decision to stand and fight in this round.
22:13 You can see it.
22:14 He started out this first minute, I'm going to say, in the center of the ring.
22:16 He didn't put himself on the ropes like he has the last three rounds.
22:19 He's standing his ground.
22:20 He's throwing bigger shots again.
22:21 Let's see if he's effective here.
22:23 >> There's Diego Carmona.
22:26 One of the keys to victory was stay off the ropes.
22:29 And then in the fifth round, he spent a good chunk of that round on the ropes.
22:32 >> And took a beating. >> Yeah, he took a beating.
22:34 >> Oh, big overhand left from Carmona catches Papeschi on the way in.
22:39 While the tide has turned in favor of Papeschi, he still has to be careful
22:44 because Carmona does have some power.
22:47 He can't leave himself open, though.
22:49 >> Yeah, Carmona, he does seem like he has heavy hands.
22:53 He looks like he can punch.
22:55 You can just see it on the body of Sebastian when he hits him and moves him around.
23:00 And he's just a bigger man. You can see it.
23:05 >> Papeschi coming in with that jab and then tried to go with the left cross there to connect.
23:11 Just missed.
23:12 Wild right hook there by Carmona.
23:19 Less than a minute here in this sixth round.
23:22 >> Nice uppercut. Sneaky shot there off the rear hand from Papeschi.
23:30 >> That's good. That's well there, Papeschi, to avoid the double jab of Carmona.
23:35 >> Textbook slip and slide on the way out.
23:38 >> Good exchange there by Papeschi.
23:44 >> Now, we saw in these last two fights, these Argentinos, they can box, man.
23:48 Papeschi's shown some nice little moves in here.
23:50 They can box and they're in shape.
23:53 >> Yeah, both him and Quiroga still look fresh.
23:57 Quiroga, the winner of the previous fight here on ProBoxTV.com.
24:02 Ten-round unanimous decision over Ifren Rodriguez.
24:06 Flyweight division.
24:09 >> Carmona was having a good start to this round, but Papeschi's coming back strong.
24:13 Tough round to score.
24:14 >> Both fighters toward the end of that round throwing some big shots here.
24:20 It's round number six.
24:24 >> A pretty even round, and when Carmona doesn't go on the ropes, Chris,
24:28 he's able to exchange there and hold his ground.
24:31 >> You know, his size, his physicality, and his punch allow him to stay in the fight
24:35 when he stays in the center of the ring.
24:36 But when he backs himself up against the ropes, he gets tall.
24:38 He becomes a bigger target.
24:39 It takes the power away from his punches, and now he's not jabbing anymore.
24:42 So he really has no business being on the ropes,
24:44 because he was having some success on the ropes by using his jab in the first two rounds.
24:48 But when he's here now, it's just Papeschi with his combination punches,
24:52 little sneaky shots like that that's winning the day when his back does touch the ropes.
24:56 So he really needs to stay in the center of the ring.
24:58 He tried that in that round, had a better round.
25:00 Not sure he won that round, but definitely landed some of his own punches well.
25:04 >> The top five especially is really a certain specific group of people that, you know,
25:16 really dominate the sport.
25:18 >> It's a discussion topic.
25:19 It's basically a barbershop talk.
25:21 You know, and I know a lot of people, especially guys who are fighters, don't love these,
25:25 because it's--
25:26 >> Now I'm seeing Bud Crawford on newscasts.
25:29 I'm seeing him on morning talk shows.
25:31 I'm seeing Bud everywhere.
25:32 And, Pauly, it's nice to see him finally getting the recognition that he deserves.
25:37 >> ProBoxTV.com, your boxing channel.
25:44 We are about to begin round number seven of this IBF Latino Middleweight Championship fight
25:52 between SebastiƔn Papeschi, the Argentine, and Diego Carmona, the Mexican.
25:56 Papeschi turning the tide in his favor, I think, after the second round.
26:01 The third round is when Papeschi started to, I wouldn't say control the fight,
26:04 but look better, look more like he's going to win this fight.
26:07 There's Carmona in the red trunks with the black gloves,
26:10 and SebastiƔn Papeschi, black trunks with the Argentine flag colors and the red gloves.
26:17 Seven of a scheduled ten rounds in Cuarto de Bar, Argentina.
26:23 ProBoxTV.com putting on this fight in association with Samsung Boxing and Theo Box.
26:30 The second matchup between Argentine fighters and Mexican fighters.
26:35 The first one, Ramon Quiroga winning a unanimous decision.
26:39 To claim the Fede Latif Flyweight title over Efrain Rodriguez.
26:44 Nice level change combination there from Papeschi.
26:46 Throws a left hand down low, came back with a right hook upstairs, landed both punches quite well.
26:50 Good boxing here to start round seven.
26:53 Looks to me like Papeschi's getting more and more confident now.
26:58 He's throwing more combinations than he did in the earlier rounds.
27:03 I think he feels the energy level and the aura of Carmona coming down.
27:07 Also the power. The power of the punches aren't quite the same as they were early on.
27:11 So Papeschi's probably more comfortable taking risks, staying in the pocket more.
27:15 He's not as worried about what's coming back.
27:18 Good left hand up top from Carmona on the way out.
27:21 Papeschi going to the body. Carmona goes to the body.
27:25 It's interesting to have these two southpaws going against each other.
27:29 Good headshot there by Papeschi connecting.
27:32 And you can tell by the movement of Papeschi that he's used to fighting orthodox fighters and moving to his right.
27:37 Because he's moving into that left hand.
27:39 He's always boxing, always circling out to his right.
27:41 Where normally that would keep him invisible. He'd be outside the lead fighter's foot.
27:44 But when he's fighting a southpaw, he's walking into the power of Carmona's left hand.
27:49 There it is.
27:51 Good exchange there in Carmona.
27:54 Even though he's maybe a little hurt because of the blood, he knows he's still throwing some big shots here at Papeschi.
28:00 He's definitely still throwing heat and he's trying to win this fight.
28:03 But the problem for me in terms of scoring for Carmona is just the consistency of Papeschi.
28:07 He's coming back with that jab. He's throwing combinations.
28:10 He's moving around the ring. Nice body shot there from Carmona.
28:12 And then right back comes Papeschi.
28:14 And they both trade jabs.
28:16 Papeschi's jabs have been rocking the head of Carmona throughout the course of this fight.
28:21 Those are some hard jabs coming from the right hand of Sebastiano Papeschi.
28:25 Hard, clean, sharp.
28:27 Double, tripling them up. I like what I'm seeing from Sebastian.
28:31 He's boxing very smart, very well. He knows what he is in this fight.
28:35 He's the combination puncher. He's the jabber.
28:37 He's going to fight on the outside. When he's on the inside, he's going to try and bang away with both hands.
28:42 I think early on, Papeschi was trying to be the puncher.
28:49 He was trying to get on the inside and throw bombs.
28:51 I think he got hit with some big shots. He was like, "Alright, let me go box this guy a little bit."
28:55 It's worked out well.
28:57 It has worked out well since then.
28:59 Round in the books here.
29:03 I'm guessing it's another round for Papeschi.
29:05 He is in control, or at least in my view, he is winning this fight.
29:12 Obviously, you don't know what the judges are thinking, so we'll see what happens.
29:15 But a good round for Papeschi.
29:17 Carmona, the blood in his nose has to be affecting him.
29:21 Everything seemed to change once his nose got bloody.
29:24 That's a good point.
29:26 It could be the nose, it could be conditioning, or it could be a combination of the two.
29:29 But Papeschi's gas tank has really been winning the day.
29:32 I keep using the word "consistent."
29:34 He's been very, very consistent with his game plan after round two.
29:37 And it's been working well.
29:39 Papeschi coming into this fight.
29:41 19 wins, 4 losses, 7 wins by KO.
29:45 And even though it's been a while since he's fought, his last fight was in October of 2022.
29:51 The first couple of rounds was the ring rust, and now he's getting into that flow, into that rhythm.
29:56 Round number 8 here of a scheduled 10 for the IPF Latino Middleweight Championship.
30:02 SebastiƔn Papeschi, the Argentine.
30:05 And the black trunks and the Argentine flag colors.
30:08 With the red gloves, and Diego Carmona with the red trunks and the black gloves.
30:13 Carmona dealing with the blood in his nose.
30:16 Still throwing some hard shots.
30:19 Papeschi there with the jab.
30:22 The combination.
30:24 Another jab that rocks the head back there of Carmona.
30:27 Yeah, Carmona, I just need him to do more.
30:33 If I'm his corner, I would be imploring him to let his hands go.
30:36 When he throws, he has good success and he's got power still.
30:39 And his punches are affecting Papeschi, but Papeschi's always asking.
30:43 I mentioned a few rounds ago, not to be disrespectful, but he's pesky.
30:47 He comes right back when you touch him, when you hit him.
30:50 Keeps his hands moving, throws combinations, mixes up high and up and down.
30:55 I think pesky is a good adjective, a positive adjective for a fighter.
31:00 Pesky, you want to be persistent.
31:03 That's the case here as Carmona.
31:08 And then just straight jab there.
31:10 Once again, the nose.
31:12 Blood streaming from the nose there of Carmona.
31:14 I think Papeschi sees that and is exploiting that.
31:18 Nice combination there, body head.
31:22 Puts that little throwaway jab to the body.
31:24 Good overhand left from Carmona.
31:26 Good exchange there.
31:32 Rocked Papeschi backwards.
31:34 These guys are back and forth this round.
31:36 And uppercut there by Carmona.
31:40 [crowd cheering]
31:43 Carmona going to the head with the left hand.
31:54 Good round here for Carmona.
31:56 It's still a very even round.
31:58 A minute left to go.
31:59 Very much still up in the air, but Carmona doing a lot of good work this round.
32:03 Much busier than he's been in the last couple rounds.
32:05 And he's going to have to step up the action there, increase the pace.
32:09 Good feint there from Papeschi.
32:12 Papeschi, I think, in winning those middle rounds,
32:16 Carmona has to capture these last two or three rounds in order to--
32:20 Oh, left hand up there.
32:22 There's Carmona on the ropes.
32:23 Left hand connecting by Papeschi.
32:25 Heavy shot to that bloody nose of Carmona.
32:27 Again, when his back is on the ropes, he doesn't have any defense for those shots.
32:31 He gets tall.
32:32 He loses his power.
32:33 Less than 30 seconds here in the eighth round.
32:39 Carmona just standing there and--
32:43 Oh, goes for what the left misses.
32:45 Missing with that big right hook.
32:51 Ooh, good.
32:52 Popped the head back there by Papeschi.
32:54 Ooh, good round.
32:59 Ooh.
33:00 Oh, there's that big overhand left that we spoke about.
33:12 While Carmona's back is against the ropes, he just has no defense for those shots.
33:15 Look how tall he is.
33:16 He's tall.
33:17 Carmona gets his head--I'm sorry, Papeschi gets his head down,
33:20 throws that overhand left, lands it beautifully.
33:22 A lot of the good work that's been done has been done while Carmona's back is against the ropes.

34:20 from the Plant City Event Center-- or ProBox Event Center in Plant City, Florida.
34:25 Some good fights here on your boxing channel.
34:29 Sebastian Papeschi on the left and Diego Carmona on the right.
34:34 And we're about to begin the ninth round of this ten-round fight
34:39 for the IBF Latino Middleweight Championship.
34:43 And right now, I think Sebastian Papeschi has the advantage.
34:47 I wouldn't say it's a big lead, but it's a good lead for him to just finish off this fight.
34:53 We'll see what happens over the next couple of rounds.
34:56 Diego Carmona has shown some big power.
34:58 Just as you mentioned, Chris, just hasn't been consistent
35:01 to really threaten Papeschi over the course of this fight.
35:04 But you never know. It's boxing. One shot is all it takes.
35:08 I like Carmona's body language to start this round.
35:10 He's coming to the center of the ring.
35:12 He looked to throw a big overhand left immediately,
35:14 but that nose immediately is bleeding.
35:17 And it looks like Carmona with his hands is protecting the noses.
35:20 The guard has gotten a little tighter to the face there.
35:23 It's not a good sign when a guy comes out of a round.
35:25 Hasn't even been hit yet, and there's blood coming from the nose.
35:27 That means that nose has been leaking in the back of his throat.
35:32 The fact that Carmona is dealing with that and is still on his feet,
35:36 putting up a good fight here against Papeschi
35:38 shows how strong he is mentally, how tough he is.
35:42 Papeschi is smart here. He's going to the uppercut.
35:45 You hit that already damaged nose with a few uppercuts,
35:48 that's only going to make that situation worse.
35:51 The two punches that really affect the nose the most are the--
35:54 which ones?
35:55 The uppercut and the jab.
35:56 The jab? Okay.
35:57 See, I'm still learning the game myself here.
36:00 A lot of times it's the punches that come from a lower position.
36:03 That's why the uppercuts are so dangerous.
36:04 But also, you've got a guy who's throwing upjabs from that hip position,
36:07 where a lot of Papeschi's punches have been coming from.
36:10 So those shots really hurt.
36:13 There goes the jab there.
36:15 Double, triple jab.
36:18 Carmona responds with the right hook,
36:20 and then Papeschi with the right hand of his own,
36:23 and overhead with the left.
36:26 Connected to the chin and the side of the face there.
36:28 Good body shot there from Carmona, and a good overhand left.
36:31 Good shots here from Carmona in round 9.
36:34 Letting those hands go finally.
36:37 Ooh, and then the left hand by Papeschi.
36:40 Papeschi, not to be outdone, comes right back.
36:42 Throws his own combination.
36:44 Beautiful left hands.
36:46 How about that? Dodging a couple of punches there by Carmona.
36:48 Papeschi showing some good head movement and body movement.
36:51 Yeah, Papeschi's feeling it here.
36:53 He's really got his rhythm working here in round 9.
36:57 What's it like when a fighter is feeling it and you've got that confidence going,
37:00 you know almost everything you throw is connecting,
37:03 and nothing the opponent is throwing is hitting you?
37:05 What's that sensation?
37:06 He's in his flow. He's got his movement going.
37:08 He's a rhythm fighter. You can see it.
37:10 He's more of a boxer. He's out there.
37:12 He's got his guy's number. He feels like he's ahead it seems.
37:15 And he's just letting his hands go having fun.
37:17 Big overhand left from Carmona though along the ropes.
37:19 Papeschi still needs to be careful. He's got a dangerous guy in front of him.
37:22 Carmona fighting himself off the ropes.
37:28 Diego Carmona, the Mexican, still trying to throw and drop some bombs.
37:34 There's the left hand by Carmona connecting.
37:36 And Papeschi with a combination of his own.
37:38 Nice upper body rhythm there from Papeschi.
37:40 He's keeping that upper body moving, firing from his movement.
37:45 Less than 10 seconds remaining in the 9th round here.
37:48 And Diego Carmona responding,
37:50 but looks like Sebastian Papeschi may have won that round.
37:54 But Diego Carmona showing a lot of heart in this fight.
37:57 And you saw Carmona, you heard him actually.
38:00 He had that frustrated "ugh" at the end of the round there.
38:03 But man, this guy's got everything. He's pouring it on.
38:06 And he's feeling it with that blood from the nose and probably fatigue here late in the fight.
38:10 Highlights from the best action from that 9th round.
38:12 You can see that leading in with the left there connecting very well on Carmona.
38:18 Nice lead left hand there splits the guard of Carmona right down the middle to that damaged nose.
38:23 Good, good round for Papeschi.
38:25 Carmona stood his ground, threw some combinations, landed some good shots.
38:29 But Papeschi, the consistency, the combination punching, the hand speed.
38:32 And also just feeling it, man. He had his rhythm that round.
38:36 In the previous fight with Quiroga and Rodriguez, we talked about Quiroga unmarked in the face.
38:42 Same thing with Papeschi here in this encounter against Carmona.
38:47 Well, George, you know what really stands out about both these fights and both these Argentinian fighters?
38:51 Conditioning. They are both supremely conditioned.
38:54 They're outworking their man from the middle rounds on.
38:58 Tenth and final round of this IBF Latino Middleweight Championship fight.
39:02 Sebastian Papeschi, the native of Lujan.
39:06 In the black trunks with the Argentine flag colors of sky blue and white.
39:10 In the red gloves, Sindigo Carmona, the Mexican in the red trunks with the black gloves.
39:17 And Sebastian Papeschi, I think at this point just has to move that left hand.
39:21 Big overhand left and then right back to that jab.
39:24 Consistent jab all night long. I love the fact that he's gone back to that.
39:28 Hasn't let that punch go at all. Even when he lands big shots.
39:32 And then he connected with three jabs in a row there.
39:35 Rocking the head of Carmona.
39:37 I think at this point Carmona might need a knockout in order to win this fight.
39:41 I mean, he is a power puncher. He's been setting up single shots.
39:44 But he just hasn't been able to put enough together to win these rounds on my scorecard.
39:48 But he's still a dangerous guy, like I mentioned in the last round.
39:51 Nice sweeping right hook from Papeschi. Catches Carmona on the way out.
39:57 Papeschi doing well there. There's another combination by the Argentine.
40:04 Closes guard there when Carmona lunges in.
40:09 Papeschi not boxing as much this round as he was last round.
40:12 Here he gets on his bicycle a little bit.
40:14 He uses a little bit of lateral movement, level changes, angles from the outside.
40:21 Papeschi there.
40:25 Doubling up with the right hand.
40:27 Low blow there from Carmona. Very low.
40:30 And now Carmona has Papeschi on the ropes.
40:32 Swinging wildly trying to knock out the Argentine.
40:35 Papeschi swinging back. Fights himself off the ropes.
40:38 That gets a rise out of the crowd here in Cordoba.
40:41 And now Carmona on the ropes. Papeschi with a flurry.
40:45 Papeschi doesn't want to give up anything.
40:47 Doesn't want to give up any ground here in the 10th round.
40:49 Answered immediately with his own combination.
40:52 Papeschi doesn't know the scorecard, so he has to make sure he doesn't get knocked out here.
40:56 Doesn't lose this round.
40:58 A good flurry of action there.
40:59 Both fighters absorbing some punches on the ropes.
41:03 Less than a minute remaining in this fight.
41:05 I got the feeling that Papeschi said, "Forget those scorecards. This is about machismo, bro. Let's go."
41:10 "You're not getting anything over me."
41:12 At some point, the pride comes in, right?
41:15 The male ego, macho ego comes in and says, "No, I can't get knocked out like that."
41:19 And there's always the Argentine and Mexican, you know, battle as old as time when it comes to boxing.
41:25 "You're not coming to my hotel to beat me."
41:29 Carmona avoiding some punches on the ropes there.
41:33 Papeschi comes in with that left hand.
41:37 Carmona almost responds with a big left hand of his own.
41:42 Papeschi, though, still moving his head. Still in great condition.
41:45 Moving smoothly with good energy levels here late in the 10th round.
41:50 And that ends the fight. Mutual respect from two warriors and gladiators in the ring.
41:57 SebastiƔn Papeschi and Diego Carmona go the distance.
42:01 We will see which one of these fighters will be crowned the IBF Latino Middleweight Champion.
42:07 Take a look at the best action, some hard shots from both fighters here in this 10th round.
42:12 I just love the fact that Papeschi lands that big overhand shot and goes right back to the jab.
42:16 Here we see Carmona, pretty much his last stand of the night, letting his punches go.
42:21 When he had Papeschi pinned against the ropes, lands a good shot.
42:24 Papeschi comes right back. Put Carmona on the ropes.
42:27 Moments after that, let his hands go as well. Not to be outdone, not to be one-upped.
42:32 Great fight, good action back and forth, and especially from SebastiƔn Papeschi, who was consistent.
42:39 That's the word that comes to mind when I think of his performance tonight.
42:42 And we will see if Argentina makes it 2-0 against Mexican fighters here in the Cuartel de la Bar Hotel.
42:50 In Cuartel de la Bar Argentina, the land of the World Champions, the World Cup Champions in football.
42:56 I have to say that our Assemble Argentine friends will be very angry with me.
42:59 We've got a lot of boxing world champions too, so don't forget that.
43:02 Very, very true. A land of great athletes for sure.
43:05 There we go.
43:06 We take a look at the best action from the entire fight, round 4.
43:09 I think this was the third round and fourth round were the rounds that maybe turned the fight in favor of SebastiƔn Papeschi.
43:16 I thought Carmona started very strong in the first couple rounds, but SebastiƔn Papeschi, man,
43:21 the consistency, the work rate, the jab was such a vital weapon for him.
43:25 And once he found that distance, once he closed the distance behind the jab,
43:28 he was able to land some power shots like that.
43:30 His punch variety, his changing of levels, his rhythm, his timing was just different.
43:35 And Carmona, when he was on the ropes, man, he was a sitting duck for big shots like that one.
43:39 Big overhand left that rocks the head of Carmona.
43:41 And just the gas tanks were different, right?
43:44 The conditioning of Papeschi was a big plot line in the story of this fight.
43:48 As he was getting stronger as the fight wore on, Carmona, maybe because of his conditioning,
43:52 maybe because of the travel, maybe because of his nose.
43:54 The conditioning was a big issue as he threw less and less as the rounds wore on.
43:59 And you really started to see the separation of the two based on that.
44:03 Here we see some big overhand shots back to the jab from Papeschi in that 10th round.
44:07 Really was finding a home for those weapons.
44:10 Carmona fought well. He's a Mexican. He fought with machismo.
44:13 He tried to come back. He tried to make the fight swing in his favor.
44:16 But in my eyes, that was a fight that Papeschi looked fantastic, boxed really, really well,
44:21 really smart, and had great conditioning, landed some big shots throughout the night.
44:25 And to your point, Chris, when those jabs started to connect with Papeschi,
44:28 that's when the nose started to bleed. And that changed the entire complexion of the fight.
44:32 Beautiful IBF Latino middleweight belt.
44:35 Who will it go to? Will it be SebastiƔn Papeschi or Diego Carmona?
44:39 Here is the official decision.
44:49 100 to 90, Carlos Villegas.
44:55 100 to 90, Enrique Ferrero.
45:00 100 to 90, unanimous decision.
45:06 The winner, unanimous decision,
45:11 will be the IBF Latino Middleweight Champion,
45:16 La Promesa de Lujan,
45:19 La Promesa Argentina!
45:23 He is the IBF Latino Middleweight Champion.
45:27 He improves to 20 and 4.
45:30 7 wins by knockout.
45:32 Deserved winner there.
45:34 Decisive on all three judges' scorecards.
45:36 Yeah, I mean, it's hard to look at it any other way.
45:38 I mean, Papeschi was dominant, especially after those first couple rounds.
45:42 And even rounds where Carmona had success,
45:45 Papeschi just came right back and was able to take those moments back
45:49 and take the round as well.
45:51 SebastiƔn Papeschi did very well.
45:54 And Argentina, they go 2 and 0.
