00:00 The only connection you have with a golf club is in the hands and the grip.
00:03 So it needs to be correct.
00:05 You need to have the correct grip thickness to suit your golf swing.
00:10 We establish the right grip thickness by again measuring, doing a measurement.
00:14 So we measure your overall hand length and measure the longest finger.
00:18 And then when you're gripping the golf club,
00:20 what we want to see is that the fingers are just touching the pad of the palm
00:24 without digging in too much.
00:26 If you see that there's a bit of a gap, then the grip's too thick.
00:30 If there's no gap and the fingers are really digging into the palm a little bit,
00:34 then the grip is too thin, so we want to go thicker.
00:37 The result of those things would be that if a grip is way too thin,
00:42 your hands can get a little bit too active and you can start hitting a shot with a hook
00:46 or hitting it left.
00:48 If it's way too thick, your hands aren't working correctly
00:51 and you're not getting the club head squaring up,
00:53 and so the ball can stay out to the right.
00:56 We do six different grip thicknesses
00:58 from something that's quite thin to like a jumbo size.
