00:00 Your late week weather takes us into
00:02 Friday with a little bit of a cool
00:04 air mass in place tomorrow and wet
00:06 weather as Jeff mentioned across the
00:08 the Mid South here down to Texas.
00:10 And we're also watching, of course,
00:12 Southern California into Arizona tomorrow.
00:14 Those will be some travel trouble
00:16 spots for your Friday holiday travel.
00:18 You're in the red in the Southwest,
00:20 also in the Cascades.
00:21 The snow will be down to pass level.
00:23 We have to be careful driving through
00:26 those Cascades in Washington and Oregon.
00:28 Meantime, Saturday,
00:28 the snow is really starting to pick
00:30 up here into Saturday night outside of Denver.
00:33 The rain is becoming heavy from the
00:35 Texas coast up to the Red River Valley,
00:37 and you'll see the warming trend in the
00:40 works on Saturday across the Southeast.
00:43 So your Saturday holiday travel forecast.
00:44 If you're in the yellow,
00:46 there could be some delays,
00:47 mainly because of rain as you
00:49 head out into the mountains.
00:50 That's where that snowstorm is
00:52 brewing here to start the weekend.
00:54 And as Jeff just mentioned,
00:55 the latter half of the weekend here
00:57 across the Gulf Coast and northward.
00:59 This is going to be a problem for
01:01 travelers because of flooding water
01:03 over the roads and definitely
01:04 possibly even some flash flooding
01:06 as well to go along with it.
01:08 Now, meantime,
01:09 if you take a big picture of the weekend,
01:11 we've got problems in the middle of the country.
01:13 You're drying out in California.
01:15 We've got this snowstorm here in
01:16 the Rockies and onto the plains.
01:18 We've got this heavy rain here that
01:20 rolls its way from Kansas City down
01:22 to Houston and the holiday travel
01:24 for Christmas Eve Sunday.
01:25 There's the snowstorm West of Minneapolis,
01:28 and there's the big rainstorm
01:30 South of Kansas City.
01:31 Those are the two red areas on Christmas Eve,
01:33 and I want to show you the snowfall map
01:36 again because this is pretty impressive.
01:38 Snow for even northern
01:39 northwestern Nebraska.
01:41 You're in that 6 to 12 inch zone
01:43 around Shadrin north of Scotts Bluff.
01:45 Your Christmas Day forecast.
01:47 That storm is kind of wrapping
01:48 itself up here in the nation's
01:50 midsection with pretty wet weather
01:52 for much of the central US.
01:53 On Christmas Day.
