00:02 Oh, it's definitely that time of the year,
00:04 as Mariah reminded us.
00:05 But even though everybody increases
00:07 the spins on their Yuletide playlist
00:09 every year during the holidays, only three Christmas tracks
00:11 have topped the Billboard Hot 100.
00:13 We tell you who in this week's "Pot Culture Rewind."

00:19 [MUSIC - "JESU, JESU, JESU, JESU"]
00:29 In 1958, the "Chipmunk Song" by the Chipmunks with David Seville
00:33 spent four weeks on top beginning that December.
00:36 It actually kicked off what would become the multimillion
00:39 dollar Alvin and the Chipmunks brand
00:40 and went on to win three Grammy Awards.
00:43 [MUSIC - "CHIPMUNKS, CHIPMUNKS"]
00:48 When you say Queen of Christmas, only one name comes to mind.
00:51 Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas
00:53 Is You" first topped the chart in 2019.
00:55 [MUSIC - "ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU"]
01:02 It was her record extending 19th number one song, the most
01:06 for any solo artist.
01:07 Thank you to everyone who has allowed this song to be
01:10 part of their holiday soundtrack each year.
01:13 And just this year, only the third holiday song
01:15 has ever reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
01:18 And it was Brenda Lee with "Rockin'
01:20 Around the Christmas Tree."
01:21 [MUSIC - "ROCKIN' AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE"]
01:24 This comes 65 years after the song's release in 1958.
01:28 And with Brenda 78 years young, she's
01:30 become the senior most artist to top the chart.
01:33 Cheers, Miss Lee.
01:35 We'll have another huge moment for you next week
01:37 in our Pop Culture Rewind.
