Monkeys are primates that are distinguished by their unique physical and behavioral characteristics. They have hands with five fingers, often with an opposable thumb, which allows them to cling to branches. Unlike other primates, monkeys have a nose rather than a nose, a shorter jaw, and eyes placed on the front of the head, giving them a face rather than a snout. There is a wide variety of monkey species, ranging from the smallest, the pygmy marmoset, measuring 12 cm and weighing between 120 and 130 g, to the largest, the gorilla. Monkeys are known for their agility, intelligence and wisdom, and they also possess moral characteristics such as solidarity, a sense of exchange and a certain sense of justice.
