Leeds headlines 20 December: man who fell into the River Aire has died

A man who was recovered from the River Aire over the weekend has sadly died in hospital. Police confirmed that the casualty died in the early hours of Monday, and are not treating the incident as suspicious.

Next and a twenty two year old man who was arrested in Southampton for stabbing a sixteen year old from Leeds has been released on bail. The teenager was found with puncture wounds to his legs as well as a broken leg, before being taken to hospital.

And finally,  Regional transport bosses have agreed funding to help resurrect a key bus service linking north and south Leeds. The number 9 service, which runs from the White Rose Centre to Horsforth, will be cut from 24th December by current operator Yorkshire Buses. However the service, which will be renamed the 10 will restart on Tuesday, January 2 with a new operator.
