00:10 If you turn to 1 Samuel chapter 17, reading particularly at verse number 34, and it reads,
00:15 "But David said to Saul, 'Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep when a lion
00:21 and a bear came and carried off a sheep from the rock.
00:25 I went after it, struck it, and rescued the sheep from its mouth.
00:30 When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it, and killed it.
00:36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear.
00:41 This uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he had defiled the armies
00:47 of the living God.
00:49 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me
00:55 from the hand of the Philistine.'
00:57 Saul said to David, 'Go, and the Lord be with you.'"
01:03 Let's stop right there.
01:04 The word of God for the people of God.
01:06 Thanks be unto God.
01:07 I want to preach in the time that I have from the subject, "This is How I Win My Battles."
01:12 Come on, look at you and say, "This is how I win my battles."
01:15 If you read through the first Samuel chapter 17, it's all about a battle.
01:21 It's a battle between the children of Israel and the Philistine.
01:25 It's a battle, listen real carefully, it's a battle between the current king of Israel
01:30 by the name of Saul versus Goliath, the undisputed heavyweight champion of the Philistine.
01:38 The Goliath draws a line in the sand and dared the children of Israel to send a man who was
01:44 able to fight.
01:45 And of course, the stake is high because if Goliath wins, the children of Israel will
01:50 have to serve the Philistine God.
01:53 If Saul and the army wins, then the Philistine will have to serve Saul, God.
01:59 Listen to what I talk about because oftentimes when we've been in Sunday school, everybody
02:03 in here have heard the story about David and Goliath.
02:07 We've heard about it.
02:08 Let me see your hand.
02:09 If you've ever been anywhere close to church, in the parking lot, in Sunday school, in Bible
02:14 study, you've heard about the story about David and Goliath.
02:19 I'm not trying to mess with your theology, I'm not trying to jack up your religion, but
02:23 the fact of the matter is they got it wrong in Sunday school because the story is not
02:29 really about David and Goliath, the story is really about Goliath and Saul.
02:35 Oh my God.
02:36 Because you have to understand that right now in 1 Samuel chapter 17, the current king
02:42 of Israel is not David, it is Saul.
02:45 Y'all catch that?
02:46 Now David is anointed to be king, but he's waiting on the appointment.
02:52 David has the anointing, but lacks the appointment.
02:55 Saul has the appointment, but he's waiting on the anointment.
02:59 Let me pause parenthetically to just holler at a few of y'all because you're waiting for
03:04 the appointment, but you got the anointment.
03:07 I said you got the anointment, you're just waiting for the appointment.
03:11 And you know the sign that you know you got the anointment is when you can serve the person
03:17 that's occupying your seat.
03:18 Oh my God.
03:19 I said, I said it's when you can holler for somebody else's miracle.
03:24 It's when you can praise God for somebody else's man while you're waiting on yours.
03:29 It's when you can scream over somebody's million dollar while you're waiting on yours.
03:34 Look down your road and say, neighbor, this child ain't even for my stuff.
03:38 It's for your stuff.
03:39 Come on up in here.
03:40 This scream ain't even for my stuff.
03:42 It's for your stuff.
03:43 My praise ain't even for my stuff.
03:45 It's for your stuff.
03:47 And the sign that you're spiritually mature is when you can thank God for somebody else's
03:53 breakthrough.
03:54 That's why I came this morning.
03:55 I didn't just come to preach.
03:57 I came to celebrate the building that you're about to step into because when God can see,
04:03 I can shout over somebody else's stuff.
04:06 He'll give me my own stuff.
04:08 Look at your neighbor.
04:09 I said, this holler is for your stuff.
04:12 This scream is for your stuff.
04:14 This thank you Jesus is for your stuff because if God is blessing your neighbor and you sit
04:20 in next to your neighbor, it means he's in your section.
04:25 So when you start, come on, come on, look at your neighbor.
04:28 I said, this holler is for your stuff.
04:31 Look down your road and said, don't be a hater.
04:34 Celebrate because it is no secret what God can do.
04:38 If he did it for Darius, he can do it for you.
04:44 That means when you read about this story, can I take my time?
04:47 When we read about this story, it's really not about David and Goliath.
04:52 It's really about Saul and Goliath because Saul is the current king.
04:58 David is just the minister of music.
05:01 David is just playing the harp.
05:03 David is just serving the current king and the sign that your spiritually mature is when
05:10 you can praise the person or you can serve the person that is occupying the seat that
05:15 you want.
05:16 Look at your neighbor and say you want it.
05:18 You're going to have to praise God for it.
05:19 Come on.
05:20 Come on.
05:21 Say you want this seat.
05:22 You're going to have to come on up in here.
05:23 Come on.
05:24 Look at your neighbor.
05:25 I said, this shout, I didn't buy it on eBay.
05:26 I didn't get it on Facebook, YouTube, and IG.
05:30 I've been through something.
05:32 If you want this anointing, you got to go through something.
05:36 Hello, somebody.
05:38 David is the future king, but Saul is the current king.
05:43 And I taught them a powerful principle on this morning.
05:46 That means Goliath, listen real good.
05:48 Goliath is not even David's giant.
05:52 It is Saul's giant.
05:53 My God.
05:54 Oh my God.
05:55 I said, Goliath is not even David's giant.
05:59 Can I preach to somebody in here that you fighting under the man's giant, you fighting
06:05 on the man's stuff.
06:06 You see, spiritually anointed people have the ability to raise somebody else's child.
06:12 Oh, come on up in here.
06:14 Take care of somebody else's stuff.
06:16 Goliath is not David's giant.
06:20 It is Saul's giant.
06:22 But Saul is shaking in his boots.
06:24 Saul is scared and the children of Israel are backed up against the wall.
06:30 The Bible said that David goes down on a small assignment.
06:34 His dad said, I want you to go and take your brothers some Big Mac and some fries.
06:40 I want you to go down and drop off some pot pies.
06:43 And the Bible said, as David shows up, don't miss this, with a small assignment, the small
06:49 assignment became an opportunity for something greater.
06:54 I don't know who I came to preach to, but there's about a thousand of you.
06:59 God said the next assignment in the next 30 days is going to position you for something
07:04 greater.
07:05 I don't know who I came to preach to, but look at your neighbor.
07:09 So it may look like a small assignment, but it's just an opportunity for a greater platform,
07:17 a greater opportunity, a greater elevation.
07:21 This thing on December 10th, it may look smaller or even the toys of us, it may look smaller
07:27 by you just bringing a bicycle or bringing a gift to church.
07:31 But if the Lord can trust you with a small assignment, he can give you something greater.
07:37 You don't have to wait for the mansion.
07:39 You can shout in the hoop to you.
07:41 You ain't got to wait for the Mercedes.
07:43 You can holler in the hoop to you.
07:45 You ain't got to wait for the mansion.
07:46 Can you praise him in your one bedroom apartment?
07:50 Because if God can get a praise out of you in your small assignment, look at your neighbor
07:56 and say, I'm not going to wait till I get big to give God a big praise.
08:01 I praise him as low as I am.
08:04 Come on, look at your neighbor and say, we started from the bottom, but we on our way
08:08 to the top.
08:09 Would you holler like you're already there?
08:16 I'm from Trinidad.
08:18 I'm from Trinidad.
08:20 I was born in a little village called Laventille.
08:24 I'm from Trinidad.
08:25 I was born in a little village from Laventille.
08:29 The size of my house was the size of the word change.
08:33 It's five boys, two girls, and my mom will have one bottle of milk poured in one glass
08:42 and we had to share it with the seven of us.
08:45 That's why when you see me shouting now, it's because you don't know where I've been.
08:50 Look at your neighbor and say, neighbor, my praise ain't new praise.
08:54 If you knew the stuff I've been through, if you know, oh, come on, am I talking to anybody?
09:00 Slap right at your neighbor and say, sit there and look cute if you want to.
09:04 But when I think of the goodness of Jesus and all that he's done for me, my soul cries,
09:12 I'm a preacher.
09:15 David, David shows up.
09:18 Be careful.
09:19 Be careful of your next assignment because it may look small, but it's a major opportunity.
09:26 People always ask me how you got to woman down at loose small assignment.
09:31 How you preach your mega fist small assignment.
09:35 Before I was preaching, I was driving.
09:37 I was driving the preacher.
09:39 I was the armor bearer.
09:41 If you want to pull pit, you got to be nice to the people in the pew.
09:46 Would you look at your neighbor and say, you better not overlook me because God may use
09:51 me to pay your bill.
09:53 God may use me to pay your mortgage.
09:56 You just don't know who you're sitting next to.
10:01 The Bible says that David shows up with this simple assignment.
10:07 Would you drop off your brother some Big Mac and some fries and make a U-turn and get back
10:13 home?
10:14 He shows up with the Big Mac and fries.
10:16 He sees Goliath.
10:18 He hears Goliath.
10:20 And oh my goodness, he sees Goliath.
10:24 He hears Goliath.
10:26 He say, hold up.
10:27 Wait a minute.
10:28 He sees Goliath.
10:29 He hears Goliath.
10:30 And he begin to speak life.
10:31 He said, I'm going to tell you a story.
10:32 I'm going to tell you a story.
10:33 I'm going to tell you a story.
10:34 I'm going to tell you a story.
10:35 I'm going to tell you a story.
10:36 I'm going to tell you a story.
10:37 I'm going to tell you a story.
10:38 He said, I'll go fight him.
10:39 He said, who is this uncircumcised Philistine who dared to defy the army of God?
10:46 Have you ever thought that God has allowed you to see some things so you can declare
10:51 victory over it?
10:53 Or on Monday, if there's anybody in here, has God allowed you to see some things, to
10:59 hear some things so you can speak victory over it?
11:04 Has God dropped you in a place so you can see something and hear something?
11:10 And so David began to say, and it began to echo, I will go fight him.
11:15 His oldest brother said, what are you doing down here?
11:18 And with whom have you left these few sheep's with?
11:21 And David said, my goodness, is there not a cause?
11:24 Then he has to encounter Saul.
11:26 He stands before Saul.
11:28 And Saul said, you are not able, oh God put a pen right there.
11:31 And Saul said, you're not able to fight him because he is a champion.
11:36 He's the champion of the Philistine and you just a youth.
11:40 And David begins a conversation with Saul about the lion and the bear.
11:45 And by the time we get to the end of the chapter, David, my goodness, have killed Goliath, cut
11:51 his head off, singing the words of Donald Lawrence, die giants do die.
11:57 The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
12:01 I saw David, I saw David in the Atlanta airport.
12:04 I said, I'm going to change church.
12:06 I said, I'm going to be preaching about you today.
12:10 And somebody is going to ask the question, David, how dare you?
12:15 What did you use?
12:16 What is your strategy to get victory over your enemy?
12:21 Somebody is going to come to church, David, and they're going to ask the question because
12:25 they're dealing with some Goliath in their life.
12:28 They are facing a giant in their life.
12:31 And so David, would you tell me as I interview you, how did you get the victory?
12:37 Even when your brother and even Saul said you were not able to, how is it you went behind
12:42 the ears, just got to church, just got saved.
12:46 My goodness, just got delivered and you stand against Goliath.
12:50 How did you get victory?
12:52 Somebody holler how?
12:53 I've got three things I want to teach you on how you and I, and I call it David's strategy.
12:58 This is how David won the battle.
13:01 Number one, David teaches you and I in the text, the Texas tale of the teachers, that
13:06 one of the ways that David got the victory is he repressed the white noise.
13:11 Oh my goodness.
13:12 I think y'all going to catch that.
13:14 Somebody bring me some earphones.
13:15 I appreciate it.
13:16 If you got an extra one.
13:18 He repressed the white noise.
13:21 He suppressed the white noise.
13:23 Give me a big one.
13:24 I said he repressed, somebody say repressed.
13:27 He repressed the white noise.
13:30 Remember thank you.
13:34 I said he repressed the noise.
13:37 Remember when he shows up, remember when he shows up, remember when he shows up to deal
13:41 with giving his brother some lunch.
13:43 The Bible said the first person he encountered is his brother.
13:48 His brother said, but what are you doing down here?
13:51 And to whom have you left those few sheep's with?
13:54 And sometime your number one obstacle to your victory.
13:58 Listen, it's not people in the streets.
14:00 It's people in your sheets.
14:02 God help me.
14:03 I just said something.
14:04 I said sometime your number one haters and not people in the club, it's people in church.
14:11 Look down your road and said, I'm looking to make sure I'm not sitting next to anybody
14:16 who's going to hate on my praise this morning.
14:19 If you ain't been through nothing, if you ain't going through nothing, sit there and
14:23 look cute.
14:24 But if you've been through something this week, somebody make some noise up in here.
14:31 I said, somebody make some noise in here.
14:34 Would you do it like my folks does it?
14:36 Say neighbor, if you ain't got nothing good to say, tell it to my hands cause my ears
14:41 won't hear it.
14:42 Come on, look at your neighbor and say, you got to shut it out.
14:45 You got to put a mute on it.
14:47 Look at your neighbors and if you ain't saying anything good, don't you holler at me?
14:53 Don't you talk to me?
14:55 Don't you even sit next to me?
14:57 I don't know how y'all do it at change, but look down your road.
15:01 Say, I got to do a section check.
15:03 If I say hallelujah and you say hallelujah and the person next to you say hallelujah,
15:09 you in a good seat.
15:11 But if I say hallelujah and you say hallelujah and they don't say hallelujah, say Usher,
15:17 I need another seat.
15:18 Cause when I think of the goodness of Jesus and all that he's done for me, somebody holler
15:27 like you lost your mind.
15:30 Come on, let every devil hear you.
15:35 Let every demon hear you.
15:37 Let every witch hear you.
15:38 Let every hater hear you.
15:40 Holler like you lost your...
15:42 This is how I win my battle.
15:54 I suppress, man, I'm going to have to buy you some new headphones.
15:57 Oh God.
15:58 Oh Jesus.
15:59 Oh my God.
16:00 You're going to have to suppress somebody.
16:01 Holler suppress.
16:02 You're going to have to repress.
16:03 Look at your neighbors and if you ain't got nothing good to say, don't you come up in
16:04 here.
16:05 Cause when you think of the goodness of Jesus and all that he's done for you, somebody holler
16:20 like you lost your mind.
16:23 Guess number two.
16:26 I promise I got you.
16:27 I got you.
16:28 I got you.
16:29 I got you.
16:30 Here's number two.
16:31 Here's number two.
16:32 David said, listen, jazz.
16:33 I repressed the enemy.
16:34 Not only did I repress the noise, I block it out.
16:38 Thank God iPhone got one of those.
16:41 iPhone, you can repress the noise.
16:45 You don't want to be bothered.
16:48 You don't want to just, just shut it down and be careful how people talk in your ears.
16:53 Be careful of what people say about change church.
16:57 Look at your neighbor.
16:58 I'm not a murderer.
17:00 But if you talk about my pastor, I'll kill you and tell God you die.
17:05 God help me.
17:06 What door am I going out of?
17:07 Come on.
17:08 Look at you there.
17:09 Say, if you talk about my pastor, my first lady, I'm going to kill you and tell God you
17:14 die because that's the woman and the man of God that God is using to give me strategy
17:20 for victory.
17:21 Number two.
17:22 Here's number two.
17:23 Y'all ready for number two.
17:24 If you're going to win, if you're going to win this battle, then you're going to win
17:25 this battle.
17:26 Y'all ready for number two.
17:27 If you're going to win, if you're going to win this battle, David said, not only did
17:31 I repress the noise, he said, but I review my resume.
17:36 Oh, it's going to get dark in here.
17:40 We got a new building, so we might as well tear this one up.
17:46 He said, he said, this is how I win my battle.
17:50 I review my resume.
17:53 Now y'all know what a resume is.
17:55 A resume is when you tell people all of the stuff that you have done.
18:00 Okay.
18:01 So right there, it says that when Saul said to David, you're not able to.
18:06 David looks at Saul and say, hold it.
18:08 Wait a minute, back it up.
18:10 Let me share with you my resume.
18:13 He said, I was out tending my father's lion.
18:17 I was out taking care of my daddy's sheep and a lion shows up trying to get a hold of
18:22 the sheep.
18:23 In fact, he got a hold of one of the sheep.
18:25 I heard the sheep cried, help, I've fallen and I can't get up.
18:29 I got a hold of my staff and I went after and I killed the lion.
18:34 Follow days later, I was taking care of my father's sheep and a bear shows up.
18:39 A bear got a hold of one of the sheep.
18:41 I heard the sheep said, help, I've fallen and I can't get up.
18:44 And I took the same staff that killed the lion and I killed the bear.
18:49 Now, if God has given me the grace to kill the lion and the grace to kill the bear, what
18:56 is this uncircumcised Philistine?
18:59 Okay, let me put it down so you can eat it.
19:02 If he's given you victory in your past, he'll give you a victory in your future.
19:08 Look at your neighbor and say, when I look back over my life and I think things over
19:13 twice, if you haven't been through anything in your past, if you haven't killed any lion
19:19 and if you haven't killed any bear, if you have not been through a desert or a storm,
19:24 then you need to leave church earlier.
19:26 But the rest of us up in here who said, when I look back over my life and I think things
19:33 over twice, the same God who's given me victory over the lion and victory over the bear, pull
19:42 your neighbor by the head like you about to pull it off and say, neighbor, I killed a
19:49 lion and I killed a bear.
19:52 I raised my kids as a single parent.
19:56 I started my own business.
19:58 I went to college.
20:00 Is there anybody who said this shout is for my past victory?
20:06 I need you to open your mouth and say this shout is for my past victory when I look back
20:15 over my life.
20:18 Now listen, there's three stages of shouting.
20:26 You can shout over your past.
20:30 You can shout in your present or you can shout for your future.
20:34 Pull your neighbor by the head and say, I don't know which one you're about to shout
20:39 over.
20:40 I'm shouting over all three.
20:41 I'm begging God for all three.
20:42 I'm blessing God for all.
20:53 You can always tell, you can always tell lion killers.
21:01 You can always tell lion killers cause lion killers don't need a lot to holler.
21:11 You see, you look so good.
21:13 Nobody know you've been through anything.
21:16 So would you go ahead and testify and say, child, you don't even know what I've been
21:20 through.
21:21 If you knew the stuff I've been through, you understand why I praise him the way I praise
21:26 him.
21:27 Look at you.
21:28 I've been to hell and back, but I still got joy.
21:32 I still got my praise.
21:35 I still got my dance.
21:37 Somebody scream at me and give God a shout.
21:47 Oh my God.
21:48 Oh my God.
21:49 Oh my God.
21:50 Oh my God.
21:51 I remember when I had to face a lion.
21:55 I had 10 people sued me.
21:58 I was dealing with a lion and then I had to face a bear.
22:02 I remember when people were dogging me, but the God who give me victory over a lion and
22:10 a bear is going to give me victory over the giant.
22:14 Oh my God.
22:15 Y'all got insurance for the building, right?
22:17 Lean forward.
22:18 Let me tell you a secret.
22:20 Lions and bears are prerequisite for your giant.
22:24 Oh God, y'all miss your cue.
22:27 You're not ready for no giant until you kill your lion and your bear.
22:32 Would you slap five at your neighbor and say, if you can't shout in the hoop to you, you
22:37 won't praise him in the Mercedes.
22:40 If you can't shout in casual corner, you won't be able to shout with Louis Vuitton.
22:46 If you can't praise him in pay less, you won't be able to dance at nine west.
22:51 Look at your neighbor.
22:52 I'm not going to wait until the battle is over.
22:57 I'm going to shout right now.
22:58 I'm going to praise him right now.
22:59 I dare you to holler like you lost.
23:00 Come on, holler in here.
23:01 Get the devil a nervous breakdown.
23:02 Make every demon hear you.
23:03 Let every liar hear you.
23:04 Let everything that has bad things happen.
23:05 Let everything that has bad things happen.
23:06 Let everything that has bad things happen.
23:07 Let everything that has bad things happen.

24:31 David, David never, David never again deals with a lion and a bear.
24:42 They getting ready to tear the place up.
24:45 Look at you and say, "Neighbor, do me a favor.
24:48 Take a selfie of yourself."
24:51 Cause this is as small you'll ever be.
24:53 God help me.
24:54 Come on, say, "Take a selfie."
24:56 I need somebody to get it.
24:57 Come on, where you at?
24:58 Come on, get in the selfie.
25:00 Look at your neighbor.
25:01 Say, "This is as broke as you'll ever be.
25:04 This is as jacked up as you'll ever be.
25:06 This is as small as you'll ever be.
25:09 Take a selfie of yourself because this is as worse as you'll ever be.
25:15 Eyes have not seen."
25:17 Come on, where your phone?
25:31 Get your phones out.
25:32 Take a picture of this building.
25:34 This is the smallest change you'll ever be.
25:37 God's about to upgrade you.
25:39 Let me upgrade you.
25:40 Come on, baby.
25:41 Let me upgrade you.
25:42 Somebody holla, "Upgrade, baby."
25:45 [Screaming]
25:59 Y'all got room for one more?
26:01 Okay, okay, okay.
26:04 David says, "This is my strategy for winning my battle."
26:11 Okay, number one, this is my strategy.
26:14 This is how I--come on, look at me.
26:17 Say, "This is how I fight my battle."
26:20 I repress the noise.
26:25 I look at my resume.
26:27 But here's number three.
26:29 David says, "This is how I fight my battle, Dr. Jazz."
26:33 Listen, remember you already have all that you need for victory.
26:42 Okay, y'all missed your cue.
26:44 I said, "Remember," look at you and say, "Remember, you already have what you need for victory."
26:55 Saul said, "You're not able to go."
26:57 David said, "Wait a minute, have you checked my resume out?
27:00 I've killed a lion and I've killed a bear."
27:03 And Saul said, "Okay, it's like that.
27:04 You want to go fight him?
27:06 At least wear my stuff."
27:08 And Saul began to put his stuff on David.
27:11 And the Bible says, "As Saul put his armor on David, David tried to walk,
27:17 but he could not walk because he hadn't tested it."
27:21 Look at you and say, "Don't use other people's stuff."
27:24 Come on, say, "Get your own sermon."
27:27 Come on, say, "Get your own shout."
27:29 Tell them, say, "Get your own man.
27:31 Can I preach up in here?"
27:32 "Get your own boy."
27:33 Come on, come on, look at you and say, "I don't want nothing that ain't got my name on it.
27:39 But if it got my name on it, I want it all."
27:43 Look at you and say, "I don't want your car because it won't look good with me driving it.
27:49 I don't want your shoes because it won't look good with me wearing it."
27:54 The Bible said that David took it off.
27:56 He went down to the brook and he find him five smooth stone.
28:01 Give your neighbor a high five and say, "I may have five smooth stone,
28:06 but all I need is one.
28:08 I don't even need five."
28:10 Look at your neighbor and say, "I don't need five people to shout with me.
28:15 I just need one.
28:17 I don't need five people to holler with me.
28:21 I just need one."
28:23 Look at your neighbor and say, "I'm looking for a praise partner
28:27 that when I say Jesus, you're going to say Christ.
28:31 When I say holy, you're going to say Lujah.
28:34 When I say thank you, you're going to say Jesus."
28:38 Pull your neighbor by the head and say, "I just need one other person
28:42 because the Bible says when two or three agree in touching anything,
28:48 it shall be done."
28:50 Slap five at your neighbor and say, "A thousand can get rid.
28:55 One can get rid of a thousand.
28:57 Two can get rid of ten thousand."
28:59 Look at your neighbor and say, "I'm in a battle,
29:04 and I need you to go to war with me.
29:06 I need you to fight with me.
29:08 I need you to holler with me.
29:10 The Bible says he went down to the brook and he got him one stone
29:16 and he throwed that stone.
29:18 That's your praise.
29:20 I need you to release your praise.
29:23 I need you to release your scream and say,
29:26 "Neighbor, this is how I fight my battle."
29:30 Come on, say, "Neighbor, this is how I fight my battle."
29:34 Say, "Neighbor, this is how I fight my battle.
29:39 My praise is my weapon.
29:41 My praise is my weapon.
29:43 My praise is our weapon.
29:45 Let everything that I expect."
29:52 Somebody holler in here.
29:55 Make some noise.
29:57 By the time you get back to your house,
29:59 the battle is already won.
30:02 You already got the victory.
30:04 Lift up your hands.
30:06 Oh, ye gates, and be ye lifted up.
30:10 Ye everlasting door, and the King of Glory shall come in.
30:16 [Music]
