00:00:00 The conclusion of the life of Samson. Today I'm preaching a bad hair day. All
00:00:05 of you know that God told him do not hang around dead bodies, do not drink
00:00:13 anything with alcohol in it, and do not let anybody cut your hair. You don't want
00:00:20 to miss this teaching. All of us in life, if we're honest, have had a bad hair day.
00:00:26 Let's go in.
00:00:30 Judge 16 verse 17, those watching all across the world, finally he told her the
00:00:37 truth. And he told her, "Because I'm a Nazarite, no one has ever cut the hair on
00:00:46 my head." Let me try it again. "Because I'm a Nazarite, no one has ever cut the hair
00:00:53 on my head." Let's conclude the life of Samson. Point at five people and tell them,
00:00:59 "A bad hair day." A bad hair day. You may be seated in the house of God. I want to
00:01:08 conclude this teaching titled, "The Life of Samson." Most of you know it kind of
00:01:12 turned into a relationship series. Dealing with being single, making good
00:01:17 choices, also what it is to be married to the right person, things you go through
00:01:23 in marriage. We also talked about a kind of anointing, asceticism, monasticism,
00:01:29 being set apart for God, a kind of holiness. It's like 10 angles. I'm a pastor.
00:01:33 Look at me. So I see angles in sermons. And certain sermons have certain angles,
00:01:39 certain pericopes or passages have certain angles you could take. Which angle
00:01:43 you want to take? Single, you want to take married, you want to take being set apart,
00:01:48 you want to take holiness. Whatever you want to take is right here in the life of
00:01:52 Samson. In part one, I preached a sermon called, "I Didn't Ask for This."
00:01:58 If you're here for the first time, I came back up. That's the cool thing about
00:02:01 YouTube. It's like you can watch part one and part two. As soon as this go off,
00:02:04 the first sermon was titled, "I Didn't Ask for This." How Samson didn't make a vow,
00:02:09 a vow was put on him. Those of you who are married, you made a vow.
00:02:13 Whether you did it at the church or in front of Judge Judy, you made some vows,
00:02:16 some promises, and said, "Here's what I'm going to do. I promise,
00:02:20 I commit not to bust a move, to love you, to honor, to cherish." You made a vow.
00:02:25 Samson is born with a vow on him. Angel, theophany, Christ himself,
00:02:30 scholars believe, shows up, has a conversation with his mama and daddy and
00:02:35 says, "This boy is anointed from birth." They put a vow on him.
00:02:39 Heaven put a vow on him, a vow he didn't ask for. I said last week,
00:02:43 "What do you do when God places stuff on you that you didn't request?"
00:02:48 Yeah, what happens when you're born and here you are having to help with your
00:02:52 brothers and sisters because your mother is immature. You were supposed to be an
00:02:55 auntie, you were supposed to be an auntie, you were supposed to be an auntie and an
00:02:59 uncle, but you end up being a mama and a daddy because your siblings trifling.
00:03:04 Siblings don't even want to try to raise their kids. So you went from being auntie,
00:03:07 uncle, to having to be other mama, other daddy. What do you do when stuff falls
00:03:13 on you that you didn't request? Samson has a lot placed on him that he didn't ask
00:03:19 for. He has what? This Nazarite vow consisting of three glaring
00:03:24 characteristics. First and foremost, you are not, watch this, to drink anything
00:03:30 strong. No strong drink, no alcohol, no beer, no White Hennessey, no Mad Dog,
00:03:35 no nothing. And then number two, you are not to touch anything dead.
00:03:40 Not a dead body, not a dead carcass. You don't even hang around dead stuff.
00:03:44 Mama go to heaven, sorry. Can't go to the funeral. It's a part of the vow.
00:03:48 You do not be within proximity of dead stuff. And then thirdly, the one you all
00:03:52 know from Sunday School 101, you are not to cut your hair. And so Samson has these
00:03:59 three things placed on his life. Last week when we stopped, I told you,
00:04:06 and I want to read it right from the scripture, Judges 15 verses 1 and 2.
00:04:09 It's so powerful. "Later during the wheat harvest, Samson went to visit his wife.
00:04:14 He took a young goat along for her. He said, 'I'm going to sleep with my wife
00:04:17 in her bedroom.' But her father would not let him go in. Her father said,
00:04:21 'I thought you hated her, so I gave her to your best man. Isn't her younger sister
00:04:26 better looking? Marry her instead.'" That's where we stopped last week.
00:04:30 And I told you and made a mistake in saying something wrong in my sermon that
00:04:35 had me up all night. It's small, but it's significant. I told you that his father
00:04:40 played him. That was a Freudian slip. That's on me. No, his father didn't
00:04:44 play him. Her father played him. It wasn't Samson's daddy. It was his wife's daddy
00:04:50 who played him. Remember, they were engaged or betrothed. Next week,
00:04:55 Mary, Joseph, they are engaged, betrothed. When she gets pregnant by the Holy Spirit,
00:05:00 they are engaged. They're not married yet. If you've been at the Word for a while,
00:05:04 I've taught you that engagements were different then than they are now.
00:05:09 Engagements then mean when you got engaged, you had to get divorced
00:05:13 from your engagement. That's powerful. You had to do it legally. It was binding.
00:05:18 Now, everybody got a friend, been engaged seven summers in a row.
00:05:22 Raise your hand. Praise God. She just...she never quite get married,
00:05:25 but she loves to get engaged. Praise God. Amen. Well, now, they're engaged.
00:05:29 You stayed at your crib. She stayed with her father during the engagement.
00:05:33 Y'all didn't shack up. Y'all didn't get a little condo together.
00:05:37 See what life going to be like. Try before you buy, girl. You better try.
00:05:41 You don't know. Shut up. Bible says she stayed with her father,
00:05:47 and then he came to get her. Your Bible says, he says, "It's finally time.
00:05:51 I'm going to sleep with my wife." He gets to the crib, and her father says...
00:05:56 Not his father. I messed up. Her father said, "I thought you didn't want her no
00:06:01 more once you found out she was cuckoo and tried to play you, so I gave her
00:06:05 to your friend." It's bad when her daddy call her crazy.
00:06:10 Let me try that. Her daddy said, "I thought you wouldn't want her once you saw
00:06:14 that she told the story or the answer to your riddle to your enemies.
00:06:19 I figured you wouldn't want her no more, so I gave her to your best man."
00:06:25 Yeah, that's cold. That's cold. You know what that cause is?
00:06:27 This is where the sermon ended and the altar got full, and over 20,000,
00:06:31 30,000 people then watched it all over the world because I had something that I've
00:06:36 never had. I had a broken heart at altar call. Never had that.
00:06:40 I said, "If your heart's been broke, if your heart has been broken,
00:06:43 when your heart is broke, your head don't work." Everybody dealing with a broken
00:06:48 heart. And I said at the first service, "We had broken hearts but didn't know how
00:06:53 to name it." Particularly in the black ethos, I was telling them,
00:06:57 "Growing up down the way, all of us bros." Thinking about my friends.
00:07:01 Last week, one of my friends said, "All the down the way bros meeting to watch the
00:07:05 Dallas game," because my friend Tim loves Dallas Cowboys ever since we were little.
00:07:09 So all the bros come over and he said, "Pastor, why don't you come?
00:07:13 I know you're tired." And last Sunday with my tired self,
00:07:16 I did a Zoom call and got up and went over there with all of my friends and they was
00:07:20 drinking and cussing and I was like, "I think I'm enjoying myself.
00:07:24 Praise God, I need prayer. Amen." No, no. They were trying but a cuss would
00:07:30 slip out and at some point, I stayed as long as I could. And then of course,
00:07:33 I very lovingly got up and left but it was so good because how are you going to win
00:07:38 people? You're too good to be around. Yeah. And I told my wife, I said,
00:07:46 "I'm going to do this Zoom call with my pastors. I'm going to shoot over here."
00:07:49 And so, I thought about it as I sat there and looked at them and I thought about how
00:07:54 many of us were brokenhearted down the way and didn't know it.
00:07:58 Yeah, did nobody have no father? My father was the only one that would come
00:08:02 down and see me and then my boy, Bird, his father, I think that was his bonus dad,
00:08:06 not his biological dad, stayed with his mom. And then one of my friends had a dad
00:08:11 but he was always in the penitentiary. So, I thought about how we were walking
00:08:15 around brokenhearted and didn't know how to say it. Yeah, how are there all these
00:08:20 beautiful black brothers with no daddy in the house and none of us ever stopped and
00:08:23 said, "Man, where my dad at? How come he don't come see me?" Yeah,
00:08:27 I'm killing it in sports, I'm killing the game, getting straight A's and he don't
00:08:31 even come down here. I thought about how brokenhearted most of us were but didn't
00:08:38 know how to say it when your heart is broke, your head don't work.
00:08:44 And because Samson has a broken heart, he starts doing crazy stuff.
00:08:49 Her father gave his wife to his friend and so your Bible says,
00:08:53 "I'm going to need you to read this when you get home." He responded,
00:08:55 this is the part you know from reading your Bible, he takes 300 foxes,
00:09:00 300 foxes, ties their tails together and sets them on fire. That's a little bugged
00:09:05 out. Yeah, then he fights 3,000 brothers and kills them with the jawbone of an ass,
00:09:11 literally the inside jaw of an ass. He takes that and beats up thousands
00:09:17 of brothers because even though he's tripping, he's still got strength.
00:09:23 Even though he has issues, he's still anointed. I'm sorry,
00:09:28 have you bothered your neighbor in the last three and a half minutes?
00:09:31 Would you please point down your whole row and say, "I'm anointed with issues."
00:09:34 Go ahead and tell them right quick. No, that's the wrong person, they stuck up.
00:09:38 If they didn't say it back, they got issues with lying. So say it again,
00:09:42 "I'm anointed with issues." He kills a bunch of them in retaliation.
00:09:51 Now, I need you to catch this because it gets better. Because here's what I didn't
00:09:55 tell you last week. Did I tell you that his father-in-law, love, whatever that
00:10:01 might be, be careful when in-laws become outlaws? Yeah, because his father-in-law,
00:10:07 I don't know who gave his wife to his boy, the Philistines,
00:10:12 because they mad at Samson, doubled back and killed his wife's family,
00:10:18 including her and her father. Yeah, it's amazing how you read the Bible.
00:10:22 Look at me, but don't read the Bible. Yeah, there are people been in church longer
00:10:27 than I've been born. Tell the truth, you didn't know that.
00:10:29 The woman that played him about the riddle, the woman that he fell in love with,
00:10:34 watch this, because she was sexy but had no substance. And I said earlier,
00:10:39 be careful when sexy is enough with no substance. Be careful when sexy is okay
00:10:47 with no spiritual. If you're under 30, look at me, I make you all sit on the front
00:10:51 row and don't care who don't like it every Sunday because Jesus told me to do it.
00:10:56 Because I got a chance to do something that I wish would have been done in my
00:10:59 20s, and that is look right in the face of people 20, 30, 35, and help you to avoid
00:11:05 stuff that many of us didn't. To you teenagers, hear me, sexy,
00:11:11 and I tell you, I'm going all over the country in 2024, starting the 1st of January
00:11:16 to do a singles tour. I'm not playing. Sexy is real important to men.
00:11:21 Oh, no, no, don't over-spiritualize it. I'm going to need some sexy in my life.
00:11:24 We got to go to bed for 30 years. I ain't trying to be watching porn and
00:11:28 Instagram stuff and being perverted, chasing stuff because I didn't get what I
00:11:32 liked in my bed. Oh, sexy, critical to men. I'm not ever minimizing that,
00:11:37 even if it makes women uncomfortable. It's just how we're built,
00:11:39 how God made us. But be careful when sexy is enough. Because at some point,
00:11:45 I know I said it last week, you're going to need spiritual.
00:11:49 At some point, you're going to need substantive. At some point,
00:11:53 you're going to need substance. And you're going to hate you got somebody
00:11:57 that all they are is cute. Yeah, because something jumps off and that's the day
00:12:04 you say to yourself, "He don't even know how to pray."
00:12:10 Now, it didn't make no difference when the lovemaking was so good and you were so
00:12:13 good to show him to your friends with his handsome self. And finally,
00:12:16 you got a ring and you're engaged and you get to get married and all the stuff you've
00:12:20 been wanting since you were 17. And so, you turned your back and turned
00:12:23 your mind on stuff that was right there for you to see until life happened.
00:12:28 And then, one of your children or his child or both of your children together do
00:12:32 something, get in trouble, break your heart. And now, you need God and realize
00:12:36 the person you hooked up with don't know him. And so, now, you alone trying to
00:12:42 intercede by yourself because there's no partner in prayer.
00:12:49 Yeah, your Bible says she's sexy but she has no substance. Can I tell you something
00:12:57 that absolutely blew my mind? The Bible says, and you'll love this,
00:13:01 that Samson... Wait a minute, look at me because... Can I tell you all what this is?
00:13:05 Okay, look at me. So, his wife, yeah, plays him and tries to tell his business
00:13:12 to his enemies. And then, his daddy-in-law gives his wife, you'll love this,
00:13:17 gives his wife to his boy. And then, his wife and her father and her family gets
00:13:23 literally burnt and killed by the Philistines. And so, that's a whole lot
00:13:27 going on. He's operating out of a broken heart, so much so he ties 300 foxes
00:13:33 together, sets them on fire. That's kind of bugged out. Then, he's fighting 1,000
00:13:37 people, then he kills 3,000 people. All this is inside of him.
00:13:41 Can I tell you all what this is technically? This is technically his
00:13:45 crazy period. Okay, I said it at 9 o'clock, I got the same reaction.
00:13:51 Everybody who doesn't admit you had a crazy period, I'm going to have to put your
00:13:55 crazy period up on the screens behind me. What you did not know is I've been
00:13:59 following you the last 30 years and I have footage of your crazy period.
00:14:04 So, if you don't raise your hand and admit you had a crazy period,
00:14:07 I'm going to play your crazy period on this video screen. Don't you look at me
00:14:12 while you're sitting there all sediti and subto and sanctified. Remember,
00:14:17 you was going up to his job and having your friend meet you up there.
00:14:21 And before there were cell phones, you were using the three-way.
00:14:24 Girl, I'm going to put you on the three-way. Don't say nothing because I'm
00:14:26 going to catch his butt because he know he was wrong. And do me a favor,
00:14:29 scratch his car and act like you didn't see who scratched his car.
00:14:33 And then, what we're going to do is don't you look at me, look at five people and
00:14:35 say, "I was crazy." And some of you now, remember even in your 20s,
00:14:45 girls and boys, men and women, all of us for the most part have had a crazy period,
00:14:51 not just relationally, sometimes financially, sometimes in terms of satisfying
00:14:55 our flesh. Hedonistic behavior, hedonism. Hedonism, the idea of satisfying the flesh,
00:15:03 hedonistic stuff, whatever it took, drinking, smoking. Some of you,
00:15:08 your body count is so big, you don't even want to say it out loud.
00:15:12 Don't you look at me like you don't know what a body count is.
00:15:15 I ain't talking about murder, I'm talking about your body count.
00:15:20 Hit five people and say, "What's your number?" Go ahead, praise God.
00:15:23 It's a shame. It's a shame. You can't even say your number out loud
00:15:28 in church because your body count. Crazy. You don't know who had a disease
00:15:38 that could have killed you. Unprotected sex. Always ask men how many kids you got
00:15:43 that you know about. Because if you didn't wear nothing,
00:15:46 you could have nine children walking around Akron, Cleveland, New York,
00:15:50 California right now. Body count. It was crazy. Samson went through his crazy period.
00:16:01 He had a crazy period. Don't you look at me. I know I've had a crazy period in my
00:16:06 life. I want to thank God. Y'all ready? Let's tear the church up.
00:16:08 The Bible says in verses 18 and 19 of Judges 15, Samson was very thirsty,
00:16:14 so he called out to the Lord and said, "You've given me this great victory,
00:16:18 but now I'll die from thirst and fall into the power of godless men."
00:16:21 So God split open the hollow place of Lehi and water gushed out and Samson drank
00:16:26 some water. Then he was refreshed and revived.
00:16:29 How you miss your shout? Did I just tell you that Samson is acting
00:16:32 crazy? Did I just tell you that Samson picked her
00:16:34 own chick? Did I just tell you that Samson really should
00:16:37 be dead already because she gave his enemies his secret, but yet in his darkest place?
00:16:42 Your Bible says when he got thirsty, watch this, he called on the name of God.
00:16:47 Y'all missed it. How in the world you gonna call on God as
00:16:52 crazy as you've been acting? Y'all just missed it.
00:16:55 How you gonna call on God as crazy as you've been acting?
00:16:59 You better call your mama as soon as you get home and call your youth minister and your
00:17:02 youth pastor and your grandmother and your father, whoever it was that told you something
00:17:07 about Jesus, even when you were young and acting crazy,
00:17:12 because when life got rough, here's your first shout, even at my worst,
00:17:16 even at my nastiest, I always knew how to call.
00:17:21 You know what? Some of y'all—I wished I had 10 people
00:17:27 in this crowded church that would thank God that even at your worst, something inside
00:17:33 of you, even at your most trifling, something inside of you would always know how to say,
00:17:41 "Lord, I still need your help. Don't let me die while I'm acting dumb."
00:17:47 And didn't God watch over you and protect you?
00:17:51 Stand up and sit back down and holler, "He watched over me."
00:17:55 I just felt that. I just felt that.
00:18:12 I just felt that. I need to hurry up and finish this series,
00:18:15 but I'm gonna give you 30 seconds to praise God for protecting you at your craziest, for
00:18:21 watching over you when you ain't have enough sense to watch over yourself,
00:18:27 for guiding you when you were acting ungodly.
00:18:34 The Bible says sit down or stand up or take off running, one of the three.
00:18:41 Your Bible says after He has killed these 3,000 and fought these 1,000 because He's
00:18:48 anointed with issues, He is dishonoring God but has not yet lost His strength.
00:18:58 He's already broken two of the Nazarite vows. He's touched that dead carcass, had to be
00:19:03 here last week. He's touched that dead carcass.
00:19:05 He wasn't supposed to touch anything dead, including the dead carcass.
00:19:10 He scraped some honey to eat, but He still touched dead.
00:19:14 Then He had a seven-day drinking party. Most scholars believe it was a drinking
00:19:19 party. I believe you don't have a seven-day drinking
00:19:22 party and don't drink yourself. So though the text does not tell us that
00:19:26 Samson drank, some would argue it's eisegesis or biblical conjecture,
00:19:31 I believe he had something to drink. I'll find out when I get to heaven.
00:19:36 Now, here we go. The Bible says He's sliding more and more
00:19:41 away from these covenants and these vows. He had a drink and He's falling away.
00:19:47 Watch this. And then verse 1 says, and I'm finished,
00:19:49 "I cannot believe that the Bible says this, 'Then he saw a prostitute in Gaza and
00:19:57 slept with her.'" Look at the person behind you and say,
00:20:01 "This is better than Jerry Springer." Go ahead, turn around.
00:20:05 No, look at somebody and say, "Who needs the Lifetime channel?
00:20:08 Who needs Lifetime? I'm canceling my subscription.
00:20:11 I'm just coming to church to pass a vernon seven days a week,
00:20:14 and who needs Lifetime anymore?" The Bible says he slept with a prostitute.
00:20:19 Okay, okay, okay. Somebody who's intelligent, and I think most
00:20:22 of you are, one of my sons, Dr. Darius Daniels, wrote a book called
00:20:26 Relational Intelligence. And then Mike Todd wrote Relationship Goals.
00:20:32 And one of the things that Mike Todd says in Relationship Goals is, watch this,
00:20:36 is don't date or marry potential, marry patterns. Okay, okay, okay.
00:20:44 Somebody is seeing this. We see a pattern. If you've been listening,
00:20:52 we know that, boom, he hooks up with this girl, and we all know Delilah's on the way,
00:20:57 so that's kind of cuckoo. And then, boom, this girl that he marries
00:21:02 who tried to kill him, and then out of nowhere, he hooks up with a
00:21:05 prostitute. So, okay, let's not make everything sex, drugs, and rock and roll,
00:21:10 because many of us have differing issues. But suffice it to say, it's clear he got
00:21:15 issues with women. He has issues with passion. And I told you something,
00:21:20 last week, and I think you slept on it, it may have been one of the best things I
00:21:23 said. I said, "Gifted and passionate people have to be careful,
00:21:27 because the same gifted and passion that gets you paid will have you in the
00:21:30 wrong bed." Yeah, gifted people know what we want, we know how to go get it,
00:21:36 we know how to make it happen. All of our appetites are big. Yeah,
00:21:40 every piece of us, all the appetites of us are large, so we have to be careful.
00:21:44 Gifted people, the same gifting that gets you paid will also have you in a bad
00:21:49 space or snapping at somebody. It's that passion that'll have you doing
00:21:54 something you shouldn't do. Mike Todd said, "Don't marry potential,
00:21:59 marry patterns. Don't date potential, date patterns." Now, this is critical
00:22:06 because you've heard me say, "Mike, I think you took that from me.
00:22:09 Don't, don't." Yeah, praise God, amen. I'll call you. But I want you to catch this
00:22:12 because this is so powerful because you've heard me say for years,
00:22:14 "Don't marry potential, marry reality." And I want you to understand what I mean
00:22:18 by this. There's this pattern. And the more you look back over your life,
00:22:22 can you go ahead and get grown for a minute? And teenagers,
00:22:24 you'll understand this better by and by. But can you look back and see some
00:22:30 patterns? In your own life, there were patterns. If the first guy said that
00:22:36 about you, and then your first husband said that about you, and now the person you
00:22:41 with now has mentioned that about you, just maybe there's a pattern.
00:22:46 Has there been a pattern when I look back over my life that no matter how much money
00:22:51 I've made, I've never had any? And even now, I'm making more than I've
00:22:56 ever made, and I can't put my hands on enough to go on vacation and my savings.
00:23:02 Is there a pattern of bad spending? Maybe I've not had a money problem,
00:23:07 but a management problem? Is there some sort of generational curse I need to flow
00:23:12 through, some sort of poverty mindset that's a pattern in my family?
00:23:17 That the most money anybody ever has is when they get their tax refund,
00:23:20 and then 30 days after that, they broke again? Is there some pattern in my
00:23:25 family's history that I need to be cognizant of, patterns of a lack of mental
00:23:30 health or mental health issues or patterns of aunties and sisters pregnant?
00:23:35 Can't nobody stand men, but everybody always pregnant? Look at a sister and say,
00:23:42 "You like some parts of men apparently, praise God. Amen."
00:23:46 Three kids, you like men pretty good, praise God. There's some parts of men you
00:23:50 must like. Samson went to Gaza, and there he slept with a prostitute.
00:23:59 I've been trying to ask the text all week, "Why are you telling me that?
00:24:03 Why?" Text, talk to me, text. Text, talk to me and tell me why you told me that.
00:24:08 Why do I need to know that Samson slept with a prostitute just out of nowhere?
00:24:13 By the way, parenthetically, what I didn't tell you, most preachers skip it because
00:24:16 it doesn't sound sexy when you're trying to talk about the craziness of Samson,
00:24:20 but the Bible says he judged Israel for 20 years. Let me say that.
00:24:25 You know he's a judge. Nobody talks about that. Samson, Deborah,
00:24:28 the female judge. Samson, the judge, kings of Israel, apostles, prophets,
00:24:33 teachers. There was a time when God used the judges. Read the book of Judges,
00:24:38 not just Samson. Read the entire book of Judges. There was a season when God used
00:24:42 judges to reign over Israel and make decisions in terms of legality and
00:24:47 morality. So, Samson is one of the judges, and the Bible says he reigned 20 years
00:24:53 as a judge. How come nobody talks about that? Because most people in your life
00:24:58 only see the lowlights, not the highlights. I feel like talking.
00:25:04 Yes, Samson is best known for the girl Delilah and the dumbness of women,
00:25:11 but he's also a judge, and he does it 20 years. Everybody in here got some good
00:25:16 in you. Everybody in here has a highlight, not just a lowlight.
00:25:21 However, the text is trying to teach us about something that the Lord wants to
00:25:25 make sure we don't get caught up in. Samson went to Gaza. There he saw a
00:25:29 prostitute, one more time, verse 1, and slept with her. Okay, here it is.
00:25:34 Verse 2 of Judges 16. Oh my goodness, I'm doing good on time.
00:25:39 The news got around. Samson's here. They gathered around and hiding,
00:25:43 waiting all night for him at the city gate, quiet as mice, thinking,
00:25:46 "At sunrise, we're going to kill Samson." I got a question for you.
00:25:51 If the Philistines hate you, why would you go to their city and get a hooker
00:25:58 on prospect? Let me try this again. I need some people to come here.
00:26:04 If you know they hate you, why are you going to go to their city and then go
00:26:10 to the shangalot and pay Delicious? Okay, you know what? I didn't lost the whole...
00:26:19 I'm going to preach this by myself. How are you going to hook up with Delicious
00:26:22 at the Holiday Inn Express on prospect? He in the Holiday Inn Express on prospect
00:26:30 know everybody in the city got a hit out on his life. When you messed up in the mind,
00:26:37 when you gone, you will look back and say, "What was I thinking?
00:26:43 Was I on a suicide mission? What was going on in my life?"
00:26:47 Watch this, that I would put myself in that position.
00:26:52 "Pastor, why you preach so passionately? Why you doing this tour?"
00:26:56 Because there's a call on my life, teenagers at YF and all of you divorcees,
00:27:01 every person to make sure people pick right. I think it's the most underestimated
00:27:06 teaching in the kingdom. I think it's the most underestimated teaching
00:27:09 in the kingdom, helping people pick right. Helping people to understand choices that
00:27:13 they make. Preaching the gospel of responsibility.
00:27:17 Helping people see that one night can change everything.
00:27:21 Preaching with passion so people know satisfying the flesh is not worth a
00:27:26 lifetime of misery. It's not worth it. How many of you would pay $100,000 cash
00:27:34 to have one night back? How many of you would pay to have one night
00:27:41 back or one season back? Your Bible says, and you missed it when I
00:27:45 read it, this time when I read it, whoever catch it first, shout first.
00:27:50 News got around, they gathered in hiding, waiting all night, verse 2,
00:27:55 at the city gate, quiet as mice thinking, as sunrise will kill him.
00:28:01 Verse 3 says, "But Samson was in bed with the prostitute only until midnight.
00:28:08 Then he got up and took hold of the door." Wait.
00:28:13 "They gathered around quiet as mice," verse 2, "saying, 'At sunrise,
00:28:18 we're going to kill him. He in the wrong city. It's all over Facebook and Instagram.'"
00:28:24 Dude, you ain't going to believe this. This fool is in the shangri-la on
00:28:29 Prospect with Nasty Delicious right now. Tell all the homies,
00:28:35 meet me at the shangri-la. Everybody come, bring it all.
00:28:38 Bring your 9mm, bring your gun. He gone. We're going to wait until he come
00:28:42 out in the morning. And the Bible says, "They were quiet as mice."
00:28:46 They creeping, sitting outside the hotel. Samson in there making a do-what-it-do
00:28:51 with Dumb Delicious. And they in there doing what they do,
00:28:55 they in the bed, sleep. Your Bible says, "At midnight, he woke up."
00:29:02 You missed it. I'm going to try one more time and then I'm gone.
00:29:06 They said, "At sunrise, we're going to kill him."
00:29:10 But verse 3 says, "At midnight, Samson woke up."
00:29:14 Okay, for the people in the back, somebody watching in Nebraska,
00:29:17 you ought to praise God that even during your dumb crazy period,
00:29:22 God was here waking you up and giving you discernment and letting you spot stuff and
00:29:29 giving you spidey senses and street sense. Okay, shout if the club got shot up as
00:29:35 soon as you walked out the club. Shout if somebody got pregnant by the
00:29:40 same guy you would have got pregnant by, but you broke up with him two weeks before
00:29:44 you was ovulated. Don't you look at me like that.
00:29:48 Even during your crazy period, thank God for Christ.
00:29:56 I wished I had 15 people. Slap five people, say, "He got me out of it."
00:30:01 Go ahead. I should have been dead.
00:30:04 I should have lost my mind, but the Lord... Take 30 seconds and praise him for getting
00:30:15 you out of stuff.
00:30:17 He's laying there. Stay with me.
00:30:41 He's laying there in sin. He's laying there in the wrong bed.
00:30:46 He's laying there should be dead. They're going to kill him in the morning
00:30:50 at sunrise, which is around 6 a.m. Around 12, something woke him up.
00:30:58 I think you all know who something is. Around 12, God says, "You're in your crazy
00:31:03 period," watch this, "but I'm not done with you yet.
00:31:07 So I got to protect you even when you're not thinking about me.
00:31:13 I got to watch over you." Y'all not, y'all not.
00:31:17 Some of y'all know before you joined the Word Church, you should have been gone, bruh.
00:31:21 You should have been locked up. Why don't you praise God?
00:31:23 There are people locked up for stuff they ain't even do.
00:31:26 You did it. And you sitting here at church, you sitting
00:31:30 here, I wish I had some real brothers that know, like me, you've done some stuff that
00:31:34 you should have been dead. But God was just talking to you even when
00:31:41 you weren't talking to Him. God was ordering your steps.
00:31:45 You didn't know it was God. You didn't know Pericles, Numa, Holy Ghost,
00:31:50 Holy Spirit. You ain't know how to name it.
00:31:52 All you know is something would tell you. That's because God knows your end from your
00:32:00 beginning. God knew you'd be here right now.
00:32:04 God knew He wasn't done with you yet. So He couldn't let you die in your steps
00:32:09 and protected you. Yes, He did.
00:32:13 I said yes, He did. I said yes, He did.
00:32:22 The Bible says He got up, sounds like some cartoon, but it's true.
00:32:26 Got up literally at midnight, picked up the city gates.
00:32:30 Think about how strong you gotta be. Took the gates up to the top of a hill.
00:32:34 Sounds like some sort of movie, all right, something you'd watch.
00:32:40 And literally took the gates, and the gates were the protection of the city.
00:32:43 So God let him rip off their protection. I ain't got time.
00:32:48 Take it to the top of a hill. Sit it down.
00:32:52 Escape with his life. Should have been gone that night.
00:32:55 Brothers had a hit out on him. But the Lord woke him up.
00:32:58 He gets out. Took me literally two weeks and three
00:33:04 fourths of a sermon to say this in verse four.
00:33:08 "Sometime later, he fell in love with a woman in the valley of Serek whose name
00:33:18 was Delilah." "Sometime later, he fell in love with a
00:33:25 woman, Delilah, Delilah, her Semitic name, Semitic name, devotee."
00:33:33 That's what it literally means. Her Semitic name, devotee, which pretty much
00:33:38 means most scholars agree, she was probably a temple prostitute.
00:33:42 Boy, him and them hookers, boy, he got something.
00:33:45 I want to talk about a brother got these hooker problems today.
00:33:47 Y'all walk over to me. We don't have time.
00:33:50 These hooker problems. Did you ever know that Delilah was
00:33:55 probably a temple prostitute? These girls that would literally hang
00:33:58 around the temple selling themselves as supposed saved brothers.
00:34:02 Oh, God, where y'all want me to go with this?
00:34:06 Yeah, temple prostitute? How does that make sense?
00:34:10 Temple prostitute? That's almost oxymoronic.
00:34:13 Temple prostitute? Wow.
00:34:16 So, he fell in love with her. "The rulers of the Philistines went to her
00:34:20 and said," y'all love this, "Entice him." I got to do this now in five minutes.
00:34:23 Let's just make it do what it do. Entice Samson.
00:34:25 Tell, to tell you what makes him so strong. Entice Samson.
00:34:29 It's on the screen. Watch this.
00:34:30 "Entice him. The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, 'Entice Samson to tell
00:34:33 you what makes him so strong and how he can be overpowered and tied up securely.
00:34:39 Then each of us will give you 1,100 pieces of silver.'"
00:34:43 Here it is, Judges 16 verse 6. So, Delilah said to Samson, "Please tell me
00:34:48 what makes you so strong and what it would take to tie you up securely."
00:34:53 Alright? OK.
00:34:54 OK, maybe I'm, I'm a little, maybe I'm slow.
00:34:57 Probably the slowest person here.
00:34:59 "But if a woman ever asks you, 'Tell me how to kill you.'"
00:35:02 OK, let me try this.
00:35:05 If a brother ever say, "So, what does it take to kill you?"
00:35:08 That might be a good sign to break up with him.
00:35:14 How messed up are you when a woman or a man is basically asking you how they can
00:35:20 defeat you?
00:35:22 He said, "If anyone ties me securely, first of all, there's bow strings.
00:35:25 I'm cutting some off. You're going to have to read it.
00:35:27 You're going to have to read it for your homework.
00:35:28 I got to go.
00:35:29 First, there's these bow strings.
00:35:31 Tie me up with bow strings."
00:35:32 There's these type of strings.
00:35:34 They really weren't nothing.
00:35:35 Read it when you get home.
00:35:37 And so, they tie him up with bow strings.
00:35:39 Samson snaps right out of him.
00:35:42 Let me be clear.
00:35:43 She calls the enemies and says, "Hey, come hang around the crib.
00:35:47 Once I get him tied up with the bow strings, I'm going to call you all in.
00:35:50 Come in and get him."
00:35:52 She calls them in.
00:35:53 Samson snaps the bow strings, kills them all.
00:35:56 Watch this, you'll love it.
00:35:57 The Bible says, the Bible says, the Bible says, in verse 10, Delilah said,
00:36:01 "Come now, Samson, you're playing with me, making up stories.
00:36:04 Be serious.
00:36:05 Tell me how you're going to be tied up."
00:36:09 Verse 11, he said, "If anyone ties me with new ropes that have never been used,
00:36:14 I'll become as weak as any other man.
00:36:17 If anyone ties me up with new ropes, I'll be as weak as any other man."
00:36:22 Teenagers, outsiders, this your part.
00:36:25 Because I wrote it in my notes to make sure I said it right.
00:36:28 The enemy is attempting to allure you to average.
00:36:34 The enemy is attempting to allure you to average.
00:36:39 Some of y'all sitting back there and I love you, you hug pastor after church and
00:36:44 somebody call you a virgin.
00:36:45 You a virgin.
00:36:46 Watch this, I ain't no virgin.
00:36:51 You ought to be saying, "Oh, yes I am."
00:36:54 And your mother wish she was one.
00:36:56 Don't say that.
00:36:58 That was, no, that was the devil.
00:37:05 You wish you was one?
00:37:07 Hear me, all of you that still have your virginity, nobody's ever slept with you.
00:37:12 Hear me, you're not average.
00:37:15 Look at me.
00:37:17 The enemy's attempting to allure you to average.
00:37:22 I'm gonna preach with everything I got every Sunday, because I don't want no average church.
00:37:28 Average church.
00:37:29 Sing two slow, sing two slow songs and a fast one.
00:37:34 Somebody across the front moaning about nothing.
00:37:37 Unnecessary announcements, irrelevant sermon.
00:37:41 Everybody's asleep, looking at their phone, not making a difference.
00:37:44 Average.
00:37:45 No, average, and can I tell you, and please forgive my ghettoism and colloquism, you ain't
00:37:56 average.
00:37:57 Can I tell you what the enemy's mad about?
00:38:01 You ain't average.
00:38:03 Your family know you're not average.
00:38:07 Average black man.
00:38:09 Average married man.
00:38:11 Make some money, take care of your family, whatever you do on the side as your business,
00:38:16 just don't bring it home.
00:38:19 Average.
00:38:20 Girl, it's all right, you single with all this love to give.
00:38:25 Don't be listening to no preacher.
00:38:26 You better have sex, make love to somebody so what you not married, girl you got needs
00:38:31 to meet.
00:38:33 Average.
00:38:34 Get your check on the first and the 15th, pay your bills, go get you some Wendy's, or
00:38:41 Mr. Hero, that's a Cleveland thing if you're watching all over the world.
00:38:44 Mr. Hero, go get you some Wendy's, pull a little something up, and nothing for the future.
00:38:49 Get your eyes done, get your hair done, no insurance, no anything, no life insurance,
00:38:56 nothing set for the future.
00:38:57 Check the check, can't even pay for your hot water tank if it break tonight.
00:39:02 Average.
00:39:03 And I come to speak over this church, and all of you connected to me, that in 2024,
00:39:11 we are breaking the spirit of average.
00:39:14 We are killing debts, singles getting stronger, marriages staying together.
00:39:19 Hit three people and say, "I ain't average."
00:39:28 I wish I had some people that would help me have church up in here.
00:39:34 Walk over to three people and say, "Average is over in my life."
00:39:47 I call this to break the spirit of average.
00:39:54 Girl, ain't nobody in this family got nothing?
00:40:06 Somebody said that to me.
00:40:07 Man, you know our family ain't never had nothing, I'm thinking.
00:40:15 Not me.
00:40:16 Not me, in Jesus' name, come on.
00:40:19 Somebody get an attitude.
00:40:21 You're not average.
00:40:22 And what I can't stand is people think because you made a couple mistakes early, and they're
00:40:29 looking at your present predicament, and God's walking up on you with no ring on your finger,
00:40:35 which you're cute shape, and they think because you have a child, and because you've been
00:40:39 through something, they can shoot their average game.
00:40:43 But you need to set the record straight right away, "Hold up, I ain't average."
00:40:49 You gotta say more than, "Girl, you cute."
00:40:51 I need to see credit reports, praise reports, anointing reports.
00:40:57 I ain't—
00:41:00 I break it in Jesus' name.
00:41:11 Oh, I gotta finish this sermon, but I feel God right here.
00:41:15 I break it in Jesus' name.
00:41:17 Come on, receive this by faith.
00:41:18 I break it in Jesus' name.
00:41:20 In the next ten years, you're not gonna owe anybody anything.
00:41:24 You're gonna have more money than anybody in your family ever had.
00:41:28 Your house shall be paid off.
00:41:30 All of you young followers shall buy houses cash with no notes.
00:41:34 In the name of Jesus, if you receive what I'm saying, you're not gonna live average,
00:41:40 and you're not gonna die average, 'cause you ain't.
00:41:50 Verse 12.
00:41:52 Verse 12.
00:41:54 I gotta wrap it up.
00:41:57 I gotta preach.
00:41:58 Mary had a little lamb next Sunday.
00:42:01 So Delilah took new ropes and tied him with them.
00:42:05 Then, with men hitting in the room, she called to them, "Samson, the Philistines are upon
00:42:10 you."
00:42:11 But he snapped the ropes off his arms as if they were threads.
00:42:14 Look at me and give me ten minutes extra, 'cause I'm gonna go in and wrap the series
00:42:18 up.
00:42:19 I want you to look at me.
00:42:20 Literally she tells men, "Hide in the basement.
00:42:24 Get in the closet.
00:42:25 When I put these ropes on him, I'm gonna give y'all the signal, then I'm gonna play it off
00:42:30 like 'Samson, they're here trying to kill you.'
00:42:33 But don't worry, y'all just keep trying to kill him."
00:42:36 I think this would be the definition of domestic violence.
00:42:43 If there was ever a clear sign of domestic violence, and I know this is no joke, I mean
00:42:50 300,000 people have watched Amanda's funeral on our YouTube channel, because domestic violence
00:42:56 is real.
00:42:57 And I wanna say to men and women, and I really mean it, be careful when people show you clear
00:43:03 signs of crazy.
00:43:05 Yeah.
00:43:06 And I'm talking to men and women, because one of the things some women do is to push
00:43:13 you until you push 'em.
00:43:16 And then call their uncles and brothers and police and claim you crazy, 'cause they want
00:43:21 your house and they want the kids and want you to pay alimony and child support when
00:43:25 they the one nasty.
00:43:30 So they will trick you into pushing them.
00:43:33 Right in your face and you put your hand up to block it, "Oh, y'all don't want me to talk."
00:43:37 It's easy to put men down, but let's talk about women too, playing men to try to get
00:43:43 their children.
00:43:45 How you cheat on me, I hate this, how you cheat on me and get the house and the kids?
00:43:52 You shouldn't get either.
00:43:53 If we gonna get divorced and you messed up, let me have the children.
00:43:58 I know it'll never be, in my second life I wish I would've been a lawyer, 'cause I'd
00:44:01 be fighting and advocating for good men who gotta fight to see kids they made.
00:44:07 I think every child needs their mother, particularly when they're little, every child.
00:44:12 But they need their daddy just as much.
00:44:15 And nobody talks about that.
00:44:17 And women, you know this, when it comes, come on, let's not play games, when it comes to
00:44:20 the criminal justice system, you get way more rights than men.
00:44:24 And I don't know how fair that is, I just don't.
00:44:26 A man has just as much right.
00:44:28 That's the kind of domestic violence.
00:44:31 But then the traditional domestic violence when someone's hitting you.
00:44:34 And you need, the Bible says, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself."
00:44:37 The problem is you want me to love you, but you don't want me to love me.
00:44:42 And I love you, but I love me too.
00:44:45 And at the funeral, they're gonna be talking about she loved him, but she's still dead.
00:44:49 He killed her, so if you don't love me enough to take your medicine and call your therapist,
00:44:54 then you can't have me.
00:44:58 I'm talking to somebody.
00:45:01 You gotta be careful.
00:45:04 Be careful.
00:45:05 When people show you who they are.
00:45:07 Yeah, and so I really mean that.
00:45:10 I'm not talking about y'all falling out or something like that, but if a brother pushed
00:45:14 you, if a woman's all in your face, you have your pastor's permission to get up out of
00:45:18 there.
00:45:19 Yeah, I will bless that divorce.
00:45:23 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:45:29 Delilah said to Samson, "I'm done.
00:45:32 I know I promised this 15 minutes ago, but I'm done for the third time."
00:45:36 Delilah then said, don't y'all say he don't teach the Bible.
00:45:39 Everything I say is the Bible.
00:45:40 Then he said to Samson, "Until now, you've been making a fool out of me and lying to
00:45:44 me.
00:45:45 Tell me how you can be tired."
00:45:46 He replied, "If you weave the seven braids of my head into fabric on the loom, then tighten
00:45:50 it with a pin, I'll become as weak as any other man."
00:45:53 So while Samson was sleeping, Delilah took the seven braids of his head, wove them into
00:45:57 fabric.
00:45:58 Wait a minute, you missed it.
00:45:59 Until now, he's never mentioned his hair.
00:46:04 He lies to her, but he brings his hair up.
00:46:07 What can make you weak as any other man?
00:46:08 If you took my hair, women, you can feel this, kind of tie my hair up and put a pin in it.
00:46:12 Some of you tie your hair up and then put a little pin in it, make it stay up.
00:46:15 I ain't got time to go into the details.
00:46:17 Suffice it to say, he didn't tell her the truth, but he discussed his hair.
00:46:21 Be careful, because the enemy will keep wearing you down until you start getting closer to
00:46:27 your secret.
00:46:28 The Bible says he fell asleep, then finally Delilah pouted, "I'm gone," verses 15 through
00:46:34 17.
00:46:35 How can you tell me you love me when you don't share your secrets with me?
00:46:39 Stop throwing love in my face in the face of your abuse.
00:46:43 Yeah, stop throwing love in my face every time you want something.
00:46:46 Stop throwing love in my face.
00:46:47 When you don't share your secrets with me, you've made fun of me.
00:46:50 It's on the screen three times now, 16 — 15 through 17.
00:46:54 She tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick.
00:46:58 Finally, Samson shared his secret with her.
00:47:01 He said, "my hair has never been cut."
00:47:07 He confessed, "I was dedicated to God as a Nazarite from birth.
00:47:11 If my hair was shaved, my strength would leave me and I would become as weak as anyone else."
00:47:17 Delilah knew he had told her his heart, and Delilah said, "got him!
00:47:31 Got him!"
00:47:32 Took me a while.
00:47:35 "Got him!"
00:47:38 Look at the enemy with your pretty self.
00:47:42 Yeah, "got her!"
00:47:45 I knew what her destiny would be by the time she was 30.
00:47:49 She would have been a full-fledged attorney and married to this guy with 2.5 children.
00:47:54 But if I can just get her this night, it'll change everything.
00:47:58 "Got her!"
00:48:00 Yeah, that brother would have been the most wealthy.
00:48:04 That brother would have been the wealthiest man in his family.
00:48:06 Outdid his father and grandfather in resources and vision, but he got caught up in her, got
00:48:12 caught up in the crack game, got caught up doing that.
00:48:15 "Got him!"
00:48:17 The enemy can't wait to holler, "got her!"
00:48:22 That's why he hates you at church today, because he wants to scream out loud to the dominion
00:48:27 of demons, "we got her!"
00:48:30 Yeah, this'll set her back at least 12 years.
00:48:34 Yeah, we can't, we can't stop her from going to heaven, but we just thwarted her present.
00:48:40 Yeah, we just dominated her destiny.
00:48:42 Oh yes we did.
00:48:44 "Got her!"
00:48:45 Samson said, "if you cut my hair," watch what he says, "I'm really anointed."
00:48:50 I ain't gonna lie to you, I'm anointed.
00:48:53 From birth, there was something on my life.
00:48:58 And if you cut my hair, I'll be as weak as any other man.
00:49:04 The Bible says Samson was lulled to sleep by Delilah in his lap for the last time.
00:49:12 Look at three men and say, "watch them laps you're laying your head in, go ahead."
00:49:17 Every lap is not an anointed lap.
00:49:19 It's not an anointed lap, every — and the Bible says she called the Philistines, oh
00:49:25 my goodness, they ran in, jumped on Samson, and plucked his eyes out!
00:49:30 Plucked his eyes out!
00:49:31 Took his eyes out his head, literally!
00:49:34 They didn't kill him, but they plucked his eyes out.
00:49:36 And the Bible says Samson got up to do what he normally did because he did not know his
00:49:44 strength was gone.
00:49:48 One version says that the Lord had left him.
00:49:52 "Take not thy Holy Spirit from me."
00:49:56 I feel like preaching.
00:49:58 "Take not, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit."
00:50:03 Samson thought to himself, "I'll shoot my regular."
00:50:07 So the bros ran in, he's like, "y'all gonna run in on Samson, y'all don't know old Sam,
00:50:11 do you?
00:50:12 You don't know old Sam."
00:50:13 Went to grab a brother, went to grab a brother to boom him, slam him, and couldn't get him
00:50:16 up.
00:50:17 Went to swing on a brother, and the brother didn't even fall.
00:50:22 Isn't this something?
00:50:24 You don't know your strength is gone until it's gone.
00:50:28 You don't realize how much you've been drained until one day you're 37 and you're sitting
00:50:34 there thinking, "all my strength gone."
00:50:37 I ain't even got nothing for my daughter messing with you.
00:50:40 I ain't even got nothing for my son.
00:50:42 I find myself thinking about you half the day, how did I get away, why did I stay?
00:50:46 You didn't take all my strength.
00:50:49 Messing with you, I ain't got no strength.
00:50:50 I used to have entrepreneurial endeavors in my head, used to have passionate thought,
00:50:54 what I could be.
00:50:55 I didn't fully realize all my strength.
00:50:56 I didn't gain weight, I'm not, I'm just, I'm just here.
00:51:00 How in the world I lose it like that?
00:51:03 And here's what's deep, you don't even realize your strength is leaving you.
00:51:08 Just a little bit of no praying, a little bit of no coming to church, a little bit of
00:51:11 apathy, a little bit of indifference, and next thing you know all your strength is gone.
00:51:14 They gouged his eyes out, y'all ready?
00:51:17 They put him in prison, I'm cutting some up, they put him in prison.
00:51:20 He's now in prison grinding stuff with women would normally do in prison, they got him
00:51:24 doing.
00:51:25 He's a strong man, he's now been reduced to nothing.
00:51:28 But your Bible says, let's close this series, let's close this series, y'all ready?
00:51:33 And they're gonna drop it on the screen because I want y'all to, "But the hair on his head."
00:51:38 Let's just begin to grow back.
00:51:40 I'm gonna, I'm gonna try one more time, "But the hair on his head."
00:51:45 OK, let's close this series, Merry Christmas, "But the hair on his head."
00:51:50 Let me try one more time.
00:51:51 The Bible says he was bald-headed.
00:51:53 The Bible says they had cut his hair off.
00:51:56 Bible says his strength was gone, but they made one mistake.
00:52:00 They didn't monitor his hair.
00:52:02 They thought because they cut it off the first time, they didn't realize that your hair can
00:52:06 grow back.
00:52:07 And the same hair they cut off.
00:52:11 I'm sorry, God bless you, Merry Christmas, see you tomorrow for Word Mart, but do me
00:52:16 a favor, look at seven people and tell them, "My hair grew back."
00:52:19 That's the wrong person.
00:52:26 I wish I had some real people in this church that would help me tear this church up and
00:52:31 start praising God that you was bald-headed in the Spirit, bald-headed in your get up
00:52:37 and go.
00:52:38 You had a kind of alopecia, but not the kind that comes by nature, the kind you caused.
00:52:44 And God said, "In spite of what you've been through, I'm gonna let your hair grow back."
00:52:49 Would you push five people as hard as you can for the final time and tell them, "Your
00:52:54 hair growing back."
00:52:55 Stand up in your house, holler loud as you can, "My hair is growing back.
00:53:08 The devil thought he had me.
00:53:12 The devil thought I was dead, but my hair is growing back."
00:53:19 Now you can sit there and do nothing, or help me close this series and preach to your neighbor,
00:53:28 "Pastor Nurb, whatever happened in your life, God told me to tell you.
00:53:38 You may have had a bad hair day, but your hair is growing back.
00:53:48 Can I get five people to help me preach and start praising God for the grace of God?"
00:53:56 It was grace that woke me up this morning and gave me another chance.
00:54:07 I need eight people, and I'll make nine that will open your mouth for the last time and
00:54:16 start praising God that in the midst of your bad hair days, God let your hair grow back.
00:54:26 If the Lord let it grow back, then somebody open your mouth on a Sunday morning and start
00:54:37 testifying to everybody in your section.
00:54:42 If you're not too mean, step in the nearest aisle.
00:54:46 I said step in the nearest aisle.
00:54:47 I said step in the nearest aisle, and start walking around the church and point at everybody
00:54:55 and tell them, "My hair is growing back.
00:54:59 I got a feeling.
00:55:03 I got a feeling that somebody in this crowded church ought to help me testify that God let
00:55:15 it grow back.
00:55:16 I got my strength back.
00:55:19 I got my joy back.
00:55:21 I got my drive back.
00:55:23 I got my sense of self back.
00:55:25 I got it back."
00:55:52 I said, "Thank you for another chance.
00:55:59 Thank you for a second half.
00:56:05 Thank you for renewed strength.
00:56:10 Thank you for a second chance.
00:56:15 Thank you for a second chance.
00:56:20 Thank you for grace over my life."
00:56:24 Is there anybody here that's not ashamed to testify that you should have lost it, lost
00:56:33 it all, but you're standing here on a Sunday morning because grace, grace, grace.
00:56:44 I think I'll say it three more times, grace.
00:56:47 Why you scared to scream that grace?
00:56:50 Why you still alive?
00:56:53 Grace.
00:56:54 Yes.
00:56:55 Yes.
00:56:56 If you ever had a bad hair day, but you're still here, then open your mouth as loud as
00:57:21 you can and holler, "Thank you.
00:57:31 Thank you."
00:57:40 Thank you for not walking.
00:57:53 Nobody's walking.
00:57:54 Shh.
00:57:55 Let's lead together.
00:57:56 Let me close this.
00:58:00 Bible says that God's just eyes out.
00:58:07 Cut his hair off.
00:58:09 He's in prison.
00:58:12 But they took their eye off Samson and decided to throw the biggest party the city had ever
00:58:18 seen.
00:58:19 All the city officials, all the head Philistines, we gonna meet inside the biggest building in
00:58:24 the city and we having the party.
00:58:27 Matter of fact, here's the entertainment.
00:58:31 We gonna bring out Samson, who used to be the man and use him as a circus animal almost.
00:58:40 Bring what was supposed to be the strongest man in the world, the one we couldn't stand,
00:58:45 the one who was our nemesis, and he's gonna be the featured act at the party.
00:58:49 So they bring Samson out.
00:58:51 Samson just kind of standing around, they're partying, not paying him no attention because
00:58:55 they think he's dead.
00:58:58 When I say dead, they think he's dead in terms of what he can accomplish.
00:59:01 And can I tell you the mistake they all made?
00:59:04 They took their eye off you.
00:59:10 The Bible says Samson in the cut.
00:59:12 They partying, they drinking, Samson there.
00:59:16 They got him there like a little animal, like he ain't nobody, no strength.
00:59:20 He can't see nothing.
00:59:22 I wish I had more time.
00:59:23 I just gotta get to it.
00:59:26 There's a little boy at the party.
00:59:28 He tells the little boy, he said, "Libra, Libra, Libra, do me a favor.
00:59:33 Take me over to the two pillars that's holding up this building."
00:59:43 And the little boy took him by the hand and said, "Just, just, just position me where
00:59:47 I can touch the two pillars that's holding up this building."
00:59:54 They don't know his strength, then came back.
00:59:58 Samson says, "Because of my behavior, I don't even deserve to live.
01:00:01 Here's what I'm gonna do.
01:00:03 I'm gonna die with my enemies.
01:00:06 Or in Christ's case, I'm gonna die for my enemy."
01:00:14 And Samson pushed the two pillars, and the whole place collapsed.
01:00:22 Every major figure, political official, captain of the Philistine army was in the building.
01:00:29 The whole palace fell, and everybody who was in leadership died that day, which is how
01:00:38 the Israelites came out of captivity to the Philistines.
01:00:45 So he did more in his death, he did more in his death, he did more in his death to free
01:01:04 people than in his life.
01:01:08 He did more—oh, 10 people are gonna catch this.
01:01:11 He did more in his death by stretching his hands.
01:01:15 Come on, somebody.
01:01:16 Here comes Jesus, y'all better wake up.
01:01:19 He did more in his death.
01:01:29 And Samson died with his enemies, but Israel got free.
01:01:35 Jesus died in front of his enemies, but everybody in here can be set free.
01:01:41 Jesus, it's not Samson, it's Jesus.
01:01:47 And yes, I'll preach the hour, doggone it, you can go to the movies for two hours.
01:01:53 You gonna listen to me for one, because I can't quit if all of you think that Samson's
01:02:02 strength was in his hair.
01:02:07 His hair was not magic.
01:02:09 He didn't have no magic hair.
01:02:12 His real strength was in his obedience not to touch his hair.
01:02:18 It wasn't the hair, it was the obedience.
01:02:22 And the whole family is trying to figure out what makes you so strong.
01:02:28 There's nothing magic, it's in your obedience.
01:02:33 You're not perfect, but because you're obeying God now, you're stronger than everybody around
01:02:40 you.
01:02:41 You're not perfect.
01:02:45 How can a single woman this cute not be making love to handsome men every week?
01:02:51 Because you're obedient.
01:02:54 How are you still in a marriage?
01:02:56 How did you not—because you're obedient.
01:02:59 How are you not smoking and getting drunk when you get depressed like you used to?
01:03:03 Because you're being obedient.
01:03:05 And the enemy is so upset because your new strength is in your obedience.
01:03:10 Because when you obey God, you may not have a bunch of stuff yet, but you got strength.
01:03:21 And God's so proud of all of you, everyone's on your feet.
01:03:26 God's so proud of all of you, everybody in here has had a bad hair day.
01:03:35 But the Lord's gonna let your hair grow back.
01:03:41 I'm done with this series, but I'm not done teaching.
01:03:43 Make sure you come back next week.
01:03:46 I'm preaching God's gonna surprise you.
01:03:49 The angel tells Mary, God got a surprise for you.
01:03:53 I can't wait to preach.
01:03:54 Tell somebody, I need you to do me a favor, anybody you know that's in an abusive relationship,
01:03:59 domestic violence, dating dummies, jumping too fast.
01:04:03 If you have a child that's giving you grandchildren too fast without a spouse, this is the series
01:04:09 you have to share.
01:04:10 Don't be selfish.
01:04:11 If it bless you, it'll bless somebody else.
01:04:13 Come on, do this for me.
01:04:15 Share it, like it, tell everybody.
01:04:17 They have to watch The Life of Sam.
01:04:19 So I hope this series has blessed you.
01:04:20 If it has, come on, I don't do this all the time.
01:04:22 But be a blessing to the Word Nation.
01:04:24 As you all know, we're on a debt cancellation.
01:04:27 Man, God is telling us no debt, help the poor, new levels.
01:04:31 It's your giving that helps us change lives.
01:04:34 We're praying for you.
01:04:35 Don't miss next week.
01:04:36 I can't wait to preach God's gonna surprise you.
01:04:40 (upbeat music)
01:04:42 (upbeat music)
