00:00 No, you just got me excited.
00:02 Yeah.
00:02 Because I don't really know what I do next after this movie.
00:06 I don't really know.
00:07 I want to know what fans want and like what the ideas are.
00:11 If we're bringing X-Men back, I'll want to be there.
00:15 The fate of the multiverse depends on us.
00:29 To start, I am curious, is there any part of you that is now terrified that Scarlet Witch is going
00:34 to go across the multiverse and dreamwalk into you and take over your body?
00:38 No, I'm not terrified of that.
00:43 I would welcome it gladly.
00:46 That's impressive and bold.
00:48 That's an interesting stance.
00:50 We're friends.
00:53 There you go.
00:54 For like basically the last year, since WandaVision, there's been a lot of debate about
00:58 just kind of the morality of what Wanda did in Westview and just the consequences that she faced
01:04 for it.
01:05 Obviously, this movie very much addresses that in a big way.
01:08 I'm curious how early on you knew that you were going to be the antagonist for this film
01:13 and kind of answering all of those big questions.
01:15 I learned about what we were going to do in this movie right before we went back to finishing
01:24 WandaVision during the pandemic break that we had.
01:27 So we had only the exteriors left and primarily the end of WandaVision, but all the exteriors
01:35 we hadn't shot yet.
01:36 And I was confused about how do I do that now?
01:46 And so my goal is to figure out how to create a natural evolution from this woman who's
01:57 isolating, taking accountability alone of her actions, accepting the fact that she has
02:04 this destiny of being this very powerful witch and learning about it and allowing that to
02:12 be the next chapter of her life.
02:14 And so I hoped that in Doctor Strange, that evolution was grounded in something and felt
02:22 different and not repetitive, hopefully.
02:24 Oh yeah, no, it is definitely a major next step for the character and it's incredible
02:28 to see.
02:29 You break the rules and become a hero.
02:32 I do it and I become the enemy.
02:35 The moment when Scarlet Witch looks directly into the camera, the reaction that it gets
02:40 from the audience, it's basically a jump scare.
02:42 Was that something that was in the script?
02:44 Did that come up on the day?
02:46 That was something Sam had me do once.
02:48 It was like the last take.
02:51 Sam was like, "Hey, how about this time you just look into the lens?"
02:54 And I was like, "Great, love that idea."
02:56 And that was it.
02:57 It was something that he just thought of for just, you know, might as well throw it in
03:01 while we're here and shooting it.
03:03 I loved that idea though.
03:05 This is going to be fun.
03:06 I do need to ask about Scarlet Witch's showdown with the Illuminati because these are characters
03:12 that audiences have been waiting to see in the MCU on the big screen for a long time
03:16 and you tear through them like tissue paper.
03:19 So what was that experience like for you and just knowing that?
03:23 What was it like holding on to the secret?
03:25 Well, there is one point where I was like, "You guys are making this too hard for her."
03:28 I didn't think it was easy enough.
03:32 But then we decided that the limitation is that she's not in her body.
03:40 She is in a less oiled version of her body.
03:43 So it's not capable of doing as much as our universe's Wanda could do.
03:49 And because it's more about being using the body like a bad car or something or not so
03:55 tuned up car.
03:56 So I wanted it to be easier.
03:59 But it was amazing to get to have those moments.
04:05 I really enjoyed it.
04:07 I really enjoyed it, especially the first couple that were just like.
04:10 And what was it like?
04:12 I mean, having John Krasinski and Patrick Stewart on set, like welcoming them into this
04:18 whole business.
04:18 I've never met them.
04:20 Movie met?
04:24 It doesn't seem fair.
04:26 Wanda, with this movie, we obviously see her introduced into like big ingrained into the
04:31 world of magic.
04:32 But in the comics, she is obviously a massive part of the X-Men as well.
04:35 And knowing that that is coming in the next few years, I'm curious if that is something
04:40 on your radar and that you're at all preparing for.
04:42 No, you just got me excited.
04:46 Because I don't really know what I do next after this movie.
04:50 I don't really know.
04:51 I want to know what fans want and like what the ideas are.
04:54 But I guess you just said it.
04:56 If we're bringing X-Men back, I'll want to be there.
05:00 But I have no actual plans yet.
05:04 I am very excited to talk with Kevin about that at some point.
05:08 Everything you ever know led you to this moment.
