00:00 I got one, two, three, four, five once I caught a fish alive.
00:02 And then I went to what's called the Merchant Cameras
00:05 in Parney Street and it's shut for good now.
00:07 Then I let it go again because I don't like fish.
00:10 And it makes me realise that things change,
00:13 even if they've been there for a long time,
00:14 eventually they'll change and they'll go away,
00:16 you know what I mean?
00:17 What's your favourite thing to have for Christmas dinner?
00:19 What should be on the plate and what shouldn't be on the plate?
00:21 I don't like turkey, but I would love,
00:23 like, I really want a roast dinner,
00:25 and like a roast nut dinner,
00:27 and I feel like that would be really good.
00:29 Well, I prefer chicken.
00:31 Turkey I find is a kind of,
00:34 not a bland taste, but a kind of heavy taste.
00:36 I find chicken's more palatable to me,
00:40 with stuffing in it.
00:41 And, you know, I just use the oven.
00:43 It's the only time you ever use the oven
00:44 because usually I just use the microwave.
00:46 Turkey and cranberry sauce and stuffing
00:50 and roast potatoes and veggies.
00:52 But we used to have, like, salmon.
00:54 Salmon with parsley sauce
00:56 and, like, veggies and stuff.
00:59 But, like, a whole mixture of, like, picky bits.
01:02 The best. Yes.
01:04 Have you seen Siobhan at Christmas dinner?
01:07 I make a wee indulgence at Christmas
01:09 to have a little sniff of brandy, you know?
01:12 And because I keep missing the movie at the moment,
01:15 the new Napoleon movie, I thought,
01:17 "Well, I'll get Napoleon brandy."
01:19 That's all the wee Napoleon brandy I've got, you know?
01:21 I think the only part of Christmas dinner
01:23 I care about is roast potatoes.
01:25 We went out for a Chinese meal last year for Christmas.
01:28 It was very different.
01:30 Yeah, it's not the same as sitting in the house
01:32 with your little party hats on and building crackers.
01:35 That's Christmas.
01:36 I'm vegetarian, so there doesn't tend to be much option
01:41 unless I bring something vegetarian
01:43 because everyone else is eating what they eat.
01:46 I'll have some DVDs
01:49 because a lot of the television stuff,
01:51 I don't have broadband.
01:52 I'm just trying to save money.
01:54 And because a lot of things on television are repeats.
01:56 So, tend to just have a plate of roast potatoes.
02:01 Do you just be yourself for Christmas dinner?
02:03 Yeah, just be myself, yes.
02:05 Is there anything that shouldn't be on a Christmas dinner?
02:07 Cranberry sauce.
02:09 Cranberry sauce?
02:10 What? No!
02:12 Nut roast and cranberry sauce.
02:13 Oh, that's dissing my Christmas dinner.
02:15 No, and...
02:16 And whiskey.
02:17 I may get an invite from some of my relatives
02:19 out to their place.
02:20 I don't know. I don't mind, you know?
02:22 Brussels sprouts.
02:23 And Brussels sprouts.
02:24 They're strange.
02:25 I've had them a couple of times,
02:27 but I've never really been able to get past the smell, I think.
02:31 Oh, and Christmas pudding.
02:33 Definitely traditional for me.
02:35 Is it you that cooks it?
02:36 No, no.
02:37 No, I'm the man that goes to the pub
02:39 and then comes back home and the dinner's ready.
02:41 Not because I'm anti-social, because I'm not.
02:43 You know, it's just...
02:44 It's just the way things have panned out.
02:46 You know, I'm not married.
02:48 I don't have any brothers and sisters.
02:50 Parents are gone.
02:52 And you just adjust, you know?
02:55 I've got plenty of friends and texting all over the place,
02:59 especially with my artwork, you know?
03:01 No, mince pies is good.
03:02 Christmas pudding.
03:03 Can't do it.
03:04 It's like the tanginess of the fruit
03:08 and the alcohol with the...
03:11 And it's really cool to look at with the fire and everything.
03:14 Every year, I get to the pub and I'm back for two o'clock.
03:17 With the fire?
03:18 Yeah, when you light the Christmas pudding on fire.
03:21 I've never seen that before.
