Against the backdrop of international talks on Abkhazia and the so-called South Ossetia in Geneva, Russia is increasingly active in these two regions of Georgia, trying to turn them into military garrisons. Moreover, Russian troops are more fundamentally strengthen its position in the Akhalgori district and village transfers, of which none is part of South Ossetia, but are adjacent to its territory.

Construction of Russian facilities for military purposes has significant strategic implications not only for Georgia but for the corridor «East-West». Six months after the Russian-Georgian war, the official Moscow continues to violate the agreement of six items, which was signed together with the Presidents of Georgia and of the Presidency of the European Union. Under the agreement, the Russian armed forces are obliged to leave the Akhalgori district and village transfers, and in Abkhazia and South Ossetia should remain the only peacekeeping force - until there is a threat of renewed hostilities. Instead, Russia is becoming increasingly retrench.
