00:00 Hi, I'm Lizzie Murphy and I'm a business reporter on the Yorkshire Post.
00:06 About 200 jobs are under threat at holiday homes manufacturer Willoughby.
00:11 The company in Hull, which makes static caravans, lodges and residential park homes, said a
00:16 consultation with workers is underway that could potentially result in the reduction
00:20 of around 200 jobs.
00:23 The company currently employs about 1,100 people.
00:28 In April, the company reported record turnover and profits for 2022, the best results in
00:33 its 77-year history.
00:35 However, the company has now said that a significant decline in holiday park and residential park
00:41 home sales has left it with no choice but to adapt to the very challenging market conditions.
00:47 Only two out of five production lines have been operating this week and the company is
00:51 expected to operate the same reduced hours next week before its annual Christmas shutdown.
00:58 In January, there will be a period of short time working for all production.
