Broadband firm Alncom has added another 350 properties to the coverage of their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in rural Northumberland, which was made possible after they extended their existing fibre in the village of Lowick to cater for the holiday site of Barmoor Castle Country Park.

00:10 Hi everybody, I'm Jamie Lamb from Barnmouth Castle Country Park.
00:14 We are an owners only static and lodge park set in rural North Northumberland.
00:19 We appeal to people because of our rural setting, the landscape and where we are located.
00:26 Sadly this can be a little bit testing. Historically it has come to internet connection,
00:32 which is where Alencom came to save the day for us.
00:35 We started off with a broader wifi network which was transmitted to every home
00:40 and people could use it for basic uses of the internet.
00:43 And then lately we've went full fibre connection, cabled to every lodge or caravan.
00:50 This has been a total game changer for us because people can treat it as a home from home.
00:55 They can stream and watch any of the things they need to on television.
00:58 They can work and keep the kids entertained with any of their gadgets or like I say television habits.
01:06 This is a must now for us and it was honestly getting to the point where I didn't know how we could provide that service.
01:14 To work with Alencom, who have supplied a lot of the villages rurally,
01:18 give me the confidence to know that they were capable. So what a difference and bright things to come.
