00:00 This is not London Bridge.
00:02 This is not the Amazon rainforest.
00:05 This is not Hawaii.
00:08 This is Lagos.
00:11 Lagos is the economic heart of Nigeria
00:14 and one of the fastest growing cities in Africa.
00:17 Everything in Lagos is huge, especially the traffic jams.
00:21 But did you know that in the center of the city, you can explore wildlife?
00:26 You can be sure to spot a monkey.
00:28 Now they steal your food, so I am definitely not looking forward
00:31 to seeing any wildlife.
00:33 I'm literally about to walk on one of the longest canopy walks
00:36 in all of Africa.
00:37 From the top, you can get amazing, unobstructed,
00:40 360 degree views of the city.
00:42 But I can't do it alone.
00:44 Joining me is my tour guide, Muya.
00:46 Come on, Muya, let's go. Let's go.
00:48 The Lekki Conservation Center was built as a reserve
00:57 sanctuary for the rich flora and fauna within the Lekki axis.
01:01 It is home to the longest canopy walkway in Africa.
01:04 And the center is definitely a breath of fresh air in the midst of the hustling
01:08 and busting city that is Lagos, especially with its crazy traffic, too.
01:13 Here, there's something for everybody with its canopy walk,
01:17 boardwalk and tree houses.
01:19 It's ready for families and team buildings as well.
01:21 If you are a seeker of adventure, this place is for you.
01:25 Let's go to the next spot.
01:27 So here I am walking alongside the beautiful beach
01:30 that is Landmark Beach right here in Lagos.
01:33 Landmark Beach is located on the beautiful shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean.
01:37 Now, a lot of people come here for its numerous activities like volleyball.
01:41 OK, guys, to win, we have to come together.
01:44 You take the left, you take the right.
01:46 I'll be in the middle.
01:53 In the middle of a hot day, you need something refreshing to cool you down.
01:57 Hello. Hi.
02:00 One coconut, please.
02:01 Thank you. Cheers.
02:04 Get set. Let's go.
02:09 Landmark Beach is definitely a bucket list place for people
02:16 who are looking for a place to relax and relax.
02:18 It's a place where you can relax and enjoy the beach.
02:21 Landmark Beach is definitely a bucket list place to visit
02:24 for every tourist in the city of Lagos.
02:26 Or if you're looking at spending a day at the beach with family and friends.
02:30 I am here at a local Nigerian spot that a lot of locals come to
02:37 for an amazing dish called amala.
02:39 It's none other than amalaskaya.
02:41 Let's go.
02:42 Amala is made from yam or cassava flour
02:49 and sometimes on ripe plantain flour.
02:52 It's a traditional Nigerian dish served with a wedu,
02:55 which is a classic Yoruba soup and often considered as swallow,
02:59 which is starchy food or grains such as eba, pounded yam or fufu.
03:05 It already smells amazing, but you know what?
03:07 I'll be the judge of that.
03:08 Nigeria, being such a diverse country with various ethnic groups,
03:15 the country offers a plethora of food.
03:18 From the world famous jollof rice to banga soup
03:21 and many more mouthwatering dishes.
03:23 I love sharing fun facts with you guys.
03:26 Here's a funny one about eating in Nigeria.
03:29 No matter how full you are, you are never,
03:32 and I mean never too full to finish your meat.
03:34 Well, that was a delicious meal.
03:38 I don't chop bellies full.
03:40 What better way to sit back and relax and digest your food
03:44 than to engage the mind while painting?
03:47 The culture of learning the art of painting
03:49 has become a trendy activity in Lagos.
03:51 Those that offer the activity focus on the fun and relaxation
03:55 associated with the art and creativity.
03:58 Hello.
04:01 Hi.
04:02 Hi, so nice to meet you.
04:03 Nice to meet you.
04:04 Welcome to Sarah Taney's Art Hub.
04:06 Thank you so much.
04:07 So what are we going to be doing today?
04:09 OK, the moment you step in here, you're already an artist.
04:11 I'm an art... Bibi Baskiat.
04:13 Bibi Baskiat.
04:14 So just embrace the energy of the artist and let it show forth.
04:17 So you can have your seat and...
04:19 Thank you.
04:20 ...bring out the Picasso in you.
04:22 I told you already, Bibi Baskiat.
04:24 Yes, Bibi Baskiat.
04:26 Now, we don't know what's going to come of this,
04:28 but you know what? It's never too late to give it a go.
04:30 Let's paint.
04:31 This must be one of the best ways to unwind.
04:35 Art is therapeutic.
04:37 Whoa!
04:39 Nah, I'm kidding.
04:40 I'm kidding.
04:41 I'm kidding.
04:42 Whoa!
04:43 Nah, I'm kidding.
04:44 Wow, I have thoroughly enjoyed today.
04:46 You've already seen all the things that I've gotten done in just one day.
04:50 You can imagine how much more there is to do and see right here in Lagos.
04:54 I've even got the souvenirs to show it.
04:56 Anyway, it's about that time that I show you what the sunset looks like in my city.
05:02 Let's go.
05:03 Lagos is known for its vibrant nightlife,
05:08 and people love to party on this side of the equator.
05:11 There are a number of bars, beachside bars, pubs, and nightclubs
05:15 where one can enjoy a variety of music whilst having a drink.
05:19 What better way to end the day than to sit back, relax, and enjoy a cocktail
05:26 as you watch the sunset?
05:27 Lagos City never dulls, and there's always something to do,
05:30 whether it's the daytime or the nighttime.
05:33 Cheers!
05:34 It's been so much fun showing you my beautiful city of Lagos.
05:39 Until next time, catch you guys on the flip side.
