00:00 Sean "Diddy" Combs speaks out against assault allegations being made against him.
00:04 The music mogul tells E! News in a statement, "Enough is enough. For the last couple of weeks,
00:10 I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation,
00:15 and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a
00:20 quick payday." He adds, "Let me be absolutely clear. I did not do any of the awful things
00:26 being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth." In recent weeks,
00:32 the rapper has been named in several lawsuits, including one filed on November 16th by his
00:37 ex-girlfriend Cassie, who accused him of rape and abuse. The singer, whose legal name is
00:42 Cassandra Ventura, told NBC News at the time, "After years in silence and darkness, I am finally
00:48 ready to tell my story and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who
00:53 face violence and abuse in their relationships." With the expiration of New York's Adult Survivors
00:59 Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma
01:04 I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life. Diddy's attorney
01:10 previously denied the accusations on his behalf, calling Cassie's allegations "outrageous."
01:15 On November 17th, the day after her filing, Cassie, who dated Diddy on and off for nearly a
01:21 decade, confirmed that they'd reached a settlement. Cassie later said in a statement via NBC News,
01:27 "I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control.
01:32 I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support." Diddy, meanwhile,
01:38 also shared in his own statement that he wished Cassie and her family all the best. In late
01:43 November, Diddy was named in two more lawsuits by women who claimed he assaulted them,
01:48 allegations which he denied via his spokesperson. A fourth misconduct lawsuit obtained by the New
01:53 York Times was filed against Diddy on December 6th, shortly before he spoke out denying any
01:59 wrongdoing. Per the outlet, the fourth suit was filed by an unnamed woman who says Diddy and
02:04 quote "two other men gang raped her in a New York recording studio in 2003, when the woman was 17."
