00:00 The sustainability file was with us over the past few days.
00:05 Many companies have talked about their strategy to deal with this file.
00:10 What is the strategy of Kareem?
00:12 We are happy to welcome Mr. Mudathir Sheikha, the executive director of Kareem.
00:17 We have with us on CNBC Arabic, welcome Mr. Mudathir.
00:22 Let me start with the latest news and the new partnership you have with the Road and Transportation Authority in Dubai, RTA, to launch electric bicycles.
00:35 Tell us about the details of this file and why you took this step.
00:43 As-salamu alaykum and thanks for having me on the show. As you know, the region has had a huge arc in terms of delivery,
00:54 delivery and any delivery services in the last few years, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
01:00 And what we are launching today is the first electric motorbike to be delivered in the United Arab Emirates to the United States.
01:11 And the way that these motorbikes will operate is that they will have a battery pack in them and it will be back in the motorway
01:19 to avoid any of the light-discharge stations in the region and also to provide electricity to power grids in the region.
01:31 And our estimate is that once launched and we have the ability to implement this project, we will have a reduction of 24 tons of carbon dioxide per day.
01:45 And God willing, in time, this will become the main way to reduce carbon emissions in Dubai and spread it even in the region.
01:55 Mr. Muddathir, when it comes to this reduction in emissions, how many motorbikes will we have by 2024 or even in the coming years?
02:05 The initial target is to get this motorbike up to 1,000 motorbikes to deliver the students.
02:17 We will start with the experimental stage, how these motorbikes will be used by the captain and also the infrastructure for the electric charging.
02:27 And as we finish the experimental stage, this number of motorbikes will reach 1,000 and we will increase it over time.
02:33 Let's talk about the presence of Kareem in the region.
02:37 The Super App is working mainly in the United Arab Emirates, specifically, and I am talking here about food delivery services and also financial transfers.
02:49 Do you have an intention to expand the Super App in Saudi Arabia?
03:03 The short answer is yes, no doubt.
03:09 You know that the Super App is an electronic application that combines a number of services that require us to be able to combine different elements to provide the best services to the workers.
03:23 We will provide services in Dubai through the Super App and we have, of course, taxi services, food delivery, and many other requirements.
03:37 The goal is to publish the Super App in the United Arab Emirates as a whole and then expand to the main cities in Saudi Arabia.
03:47 We are currently using the Super App and we will be using it by the customers in the coming months.
03:55 We will bring the rest of the Super App to Saudi Arabia.
03:59 What is your current investment in Saudi Arabia and what is expected to expand the services you provide there?
04:15 Saudi Arabia is Kareem's largest market for the transportation services in Kareem and the investment that we have done will be in line with the growth of the Saudi Arabian market.
04:35 We will provide services to our customers in Saudi Arabia and we will provide the customers with the choice to use all the services on one platform.
04:49 We hope that this platform will be easy to use and will give them the value of working on unifying their spending on one platform.
05:01 Thank you, Mr. Chairman, for being with us today. Good luck.
05:09 Shukran Llahi.
