Two people killed in light plane crash in northern NSW

Police are working to identify two people killed in a light plane crash in northern New South Wales. It's believed they were the sole occupants of the plane, which crashed into power lines near Grafton.

00:00 Forensic police remain here on the banks of the Clarence River west of Grafton where a
00:06 plane crashed this morning just before 9am.
00:11 What we know is that a man aged in his 30s was on board and also a boy under the age
00:17 of 10 who have died in this accident.
00:20 We know that the plane left from the Gold Coast this morning and has clipped power lines
00:26 and hit the banks here of the Clarence River.
00:30 There were eyewitnesses to this accident.
00:32 There's a campground just across the road and we spoke a short time ago to someone who
00:37 saw the accident.
00:38 You know it was so intense, the flames and the black spilling smoke and it was very very
00:43 hot and once I finally, while I was calling emergency services, I was sort of investigating
00:51 at the same time what I was actually looking at and realised that there was nothing I could
00:57 do.
00:58 The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is on the ground and investigating the crash.
